Chapter 32 - Report

Harin grabbed one of the documents from the platform, her eyes still showing no interest. "Let's begin your report."

Jinwoo chuckled, leaning back in his chair as if Harin had told him some kind of stupid joke.

He leaned forward, his laughter still with him. "Seriously? And what if I don't talk?"

"I hope there's no need for us to know the answer to that if." Harin glared at him, taking a pen out of her pocket, "Well then, let's begin."

Jinwoo crossed his hands, his expression going back to stoic. He had already made up his mind of not answering whatever she was going to ask. However...

"This isn't necessary for the report but... How have you been?" Harin didn't take her eyes off the papers. She uttered those words without fully meaning to do so.

Jinwoo was taken aback, a personal question involving his life was not something he was very open about.

"Uh..." He hesitated.

Should he speak? About what? His chaotic hunter life, or the life he was taken out of?

Harin waited patiently for his answer, her eyes kept narrowing on the papers.

"..Okay, i guess.." Jinwoo half-heartedly replied, clutching his hands tighter.

The reply was enough for Harin. Although she would have wanted to talk more, it was not an optimal option there. Before she could think more about it, Jinwoo loudly exhaled.

"How about you?"

Harin's grip on her pen grew tighter. She turned her head to look up at him.

"Not good. For a good while."

"Ah.. i see." Jinwoo slowly said. The look she had on her face was a slightly scary, even for someone like him.

Somehow, Harin didn't like that reply. She began ranting.

"Yeah. I can't believe I worked so hard to achieve everything and you are out here, doing criminal acts. Seriously. Like actually, did you never have the idea of even concealing your face?"

"Well, it wasn't really necessary." Jinwoo argued back.

She didn't like it.

"It was, you clock-headed, undead, bratty, annoying, jerk of a brother. Do you think people wouldn't recognise you? Especially, when your sister is a S-ranked Hunter?!"

"She just bragged, didn't she?" Jinwoo thought, before he could do that action more, she continued her nag.

"Seriously. Do you know how it feels to answer to people asking, 'hey!~ isn't your sibling a miscreant?'. Huh?! I bet you didn't, cause I am actually a civilized human being."

"She's using seriously too much. And what the fuck does miscreants mean?"

"Yeah, yeah. Whatever." Jinwoo shrugged, she was winning the argument and making him annoyed at the same time.

After a slight pause, he added.

"Moreover. I don't remember having a sibling, though?"

Harin halted in her words, her expression darkening.

"...

..."

"You bastard." She cursed.

Fury filled in her body and anger showing on her face. She was mad, extremely mad.

First, he acts like a jerk, gets kicked out of the family, starts doing random bullshit, brings down her social image and now he's saying that ?

"You bastard," she repeated, "who the hell do you think you are? It's all your fault that this situation is happening. I get kicking you out the family was too far, I had even objected but you didn't! You.

You!" She repeated the last word again, tiny drops of tears forming at the end of her eyes.

Jinwoo swallowed hard, he had not expected her to become this angry, let alone start sobbing.

"Ah well, i was angry at the tim-"

"Do you think I wasn't? Do you think dad wasn't? Do you think mother wasn't? All you think about is yourself, don't you? You selfish fuck."

"...Sorry" Jinwoo muttered slowly, his eyes looking elsewhere.

Harin stopped, a simple sorry was able to bring that anger to a calm.

Was a sorry always this effective? Or was this sorry that sincere? Or maybe... She just wanted an excuse to stop.

After that, she took the report with no—maybe a little disagreement. She got angry at him all of a sudden, calmed down, then finished her report.

For 'some' reason, Jinwoo was very compliant for the rest of the meeting.

Harin left satisfied, as if she had pent up every single problem onto him—no. She actually had. For 5 hours straight, Jinwoo had to listen to how Harin's friends had silkier hair then her, how the coffee machine broke in the morning when she really wanted to drink it and how the monster in the dungeon she hunted was ugly as hell.

As she left the room, Harin noticed Seokjin standing just outside the door.

"That was a long report, i must say." Seokjin crossed his hands and leaned to the wall. His dark green suit still looking as clean as possible and the colourful hat on his head with a small propeller... What?

Harin noticed something very strange. The colourful hat on Seokin's head. The same one every cartoon kid wears. The propeller was spinning even though there was no strong air in the corridor.

"No way..." Harin's eyes widened in shock.

Seokjin was using mana to turn the propeller. The small fan on his head.

Harin stared at it for a long time. Seokjin did not waver. He was not affected by the views of people below him. He was superior... or something like that.

Harin shook her head and replied. "Sorry, I got emotional in the end."

"It's okay. Being sorrowful for your brother is not wron-"

"Who's sad about that fucker? I should have let him die in the sentence. Son of a bi-...he's a bitch!"

"She didn't curse their mother.." Seokjin grabbed his hat and turned it comfortably.

"Um. Well, that's good.. i guess."

"Hah?! What's good? Is my brother dying good? I will kill anyone going for my brother."

"Seriously... Make up your mind, miss."

Suddenly, a gentle voice called out both of them.

"Well, if it isn't Seokjin and Harin, dear.."
