-nethan's pov-
2 Weeks. That was time it took me to finally get to moving around Normally.
It could have happened much faster if not for the constant stress and excercise i had to do everyday but I guess it will do me some good in the long run.
Raising to my feets again, I left with the book and the monocle like glass piece in hand to go for the morning bathing.
Having begin here for quite some time, i have also began getting used to the presence of the slime snake.
Honestly it looked quite cute but I am not someone who will fall to tricks like that, so I kept my distance whenever I saw it moving.
Moving out I saw the same old ceiling above and the small waterfall but something seemed off today.
" Isn't Visi supposed to be near those vines there?" I asked myself while looking at the giants stalks of vines hanging down near the waterfall.
There was no one here today, not Visi nor the slime, it felt wierd to see the everytime active Cute snake being missing.
" Did they leave? Has the outside entrance opened up?" Something about the realisation hit me hard, the fact that I was alone in this abadoned place offered no solace to me as well.
I had to get out, it was the only chance for me to escape to the dwarvan lands before the maid and the slime came back.
I jumped, going back to the room I was in and folded my cloak, placed the few books and the glass on it along with some medicine I got usually and ran.
There was one big cave at the corner of the village with a few torches always being lit there and that I was the only I chance I had.
"This must be the one, i saw those two go here many times." I said, picking up the pace of my steps i quickly begin walking towards the cave.
Inside were walls with hundreds of light orbs, Visit once told me they are just a bunch of ores that produce light things like shockwaves and such.
I kept going, walking, straight through the tunnel, my foot in rhythm neither fast nor slow.
Eventually I found myself coming across a split path, one filled with orbs and the other empty, 'This is a problem! But I have to decide fast' My thoughts were shambles, unable to decide which path to take.
Leaving it up to fate, i went into the one without lights, i didn't see anything so I had to slow down my pace to not bump into anything.
I have been walking for a long time.
How much time has it been?
"Just when does this place end? *Running out of patience* Why can't I just get out?" I screamed to myself, the tunnel was so long I had begin seeing in the dark by now.
But still I walked and kept walking until, i was at my wits end but then it came to me, a small shine of light.
"FINALLY," staring into the light I ran faster.
" I FOUND IT!"

-Switching to 3rd person pov-
Nethan came out of the tunnel, expecting to find himself in the lower regions of the mountains but his expectations couldn't be more wrong.
The place he came to was neither the cold mountains nor some water stream but a dome like clearing underground.
" This.. Don't tell me I took the wrong path."
" You took the correct path young giant, just as your fate foretold."
Nethan jumped back towards the tunnel as a voice came to him, it felt wise and old but he didn't care.
He leapt and ran towards the entrance but just before he could cross it. The ground rose, sealing the entrance in a wall of rock.
Nethan jumped, punching at the wall but the attack didn't do anything except sent a shock down his arm along with a wave of pain as he fell to the ground.
Slowly turned back towards the room, it's dome roof was filled with light orbs or rather made from light orb, it felt like staring into the moon itself.
His gaze slowly lowered down onto a wierd structure I front of him where a single sculpture stood with a broadsword and chained ball in hand.
To his horror, the statue's head moved as it matches his gaze before pulling itself out of the place it stood from.
"Fear not young giant, Any sort of violence amongst giants is forbidden here." The statue said while walking forward, small rocks and dust breaking of its skin.
It came closer and closer to the stunned Nethan until it stood right in front of him, it was over 14 feet tall with the broadsword reaching up 10 feet dragging behind it.
It leaned forward, putting it's hand around Nethan like picking up a doll and raised him to it head and begins talking, " Your blood is quite pure. reaching the level where it can trigger the ceremony. "
"Ceremony?" Nethan looked at it confused, "What ceremony? What is this place?"
Nethan saw the statue smirk as if having anticipated his words before hand, turning around it placed him onto it's shoulders and begins walking towards the structure where it came from.
"Let me ask you young man, Do you crave for power? And if you do, then what for?" The statue said with a tint of interest while making it's way to what appeared to be a shrine.
Nethan had no answer, he wanted power but haven't quite decided what for.
Watching his silence th statue couldn't help but smile at the indecisiveness.
"You hesitate, not because you don't wish to but because you haven't found a reason for it."
As the shrine grew closer, so did Nethan's curiosity, a giant talking statue was not quite shocking after seeing a living maid of armor.
The statue crouches, lowering itself before placing Nethan lightly onto the floor.
"What is that?" Nethan said while looking forwards, in front is a small wall with a mural on it.
It showed a figure walking down a path with a sword equal to himself in size with three pendants in neck and hundreds of black figures on the path he was walking.
"That's the Paragon, our past master and what we believed to be the last living giant." The statue said with a sad tone that could be felt despite it's rigid voice.
It closed it's eyes and turned to Nethan while putting it's sword down.
" I ask you young giant, will you take the trial of Virtue and become the successor of Paragon?"
The words were more like a request then a question, Nethan himself his heard about the Paragon in the tales but people said they were just propaganda of the cyclops race.
He felt conflicted. Before him stood the last evidence of the tales he once heard and he have always fantasized about being like the people in the stories.
But right now, with a chance to walk on the path as one of them in front of him, he felt somewhat baffled.
Raising it's giant hand, the statue placed it so gently on Nethan's head that it felt unnatural and said " Big decisions like these require time, Why don't you just sit down and think it through?" The statue suggested.
" I will.. thank you."
Nethan sat on the ground and closed his eyes, he begins questioning himself about why he wanted power, or why should he take the trial?

4 hours later.
Nethan rose to his feet, his mind cleaner than ever. He felt light and free, not bound by the things that have weighted on him.
"Give me the trial." He declared to the statue who felt a wave of nostalgia wash over him.
'He is similar. I hope he succeed', the statue could only hope as it looked at the youthful boy in front of him before slamming it's hand on the ground.
The ground shook, as pillars begin rising everywhere in the clearing and soon the shrine was at the center of a large ritual circle.
" When a Giant dies, it tries to leave behind it's everything before going to the afterlife. "
This time, the statue grabbed onto it's sword with both hands, the chained ball rose like a snake and circled around him before he begins glowing in a veil of flames.
"The tales say that the Paragon left behind four inheritances, his sword techniques, his knowledge of magic, his methods of body strengthening and his boundless wealth and methods of artifact creation."
The giant declared with a prideful voice as the flames of the sword split and soon each pillar was connected to each other.
The flames rose higher and higher before the orbs on the roof begin breaking one by one.
"But there was a fifth one he hid in his home, The fifth inheritance, the eternal spirit of light and the memories of his life." The statue said before the blade of the sword fell to the shrine as a blinding light engulfed everything near the shrine and Nethan was consumed into the it.
The statue was sent flying through the pillar before coming to the stop at the walls, the sword was melted and the chained trinket smoking.
" Please be successful kid, let the light be free again." The statue said before falling down to the ground and begins resting.
