Chapter 36 - Wrath of a Brother

The news of Janet's kidnapping hit the estate like a thunderbolt.

The king rose in fury, "Prepare the knights! We ride for the Leaf Kingdom!"

But before he could finish, Sion mounted his horse. His voice thundered through the estate gates, "No one follows me! They took my sister. I'll slaughter every last one of those bastards with my own hands!"

A violent, divine aura exploded from his body—so powerful and chaotic that the very ground trembled. The sky darkened slightly, the winds shifted. Even the king stood frozen, unable to speak as he felt the terrifying energy of a rampaging god.

Sara, desperate and panicked, summoned her wind magic and floated toward him, trying to stop his reckless charge. "Sion, wait—please!"

But as she came close and saw his eyes—burning with unrestrained fury—her heart skipped a beat. This wasn't the Sion she knew. This was a demon awakened. She trembled, backing away silently as tears welled up in her eyes.

Duke John collapsed onto his knees, stunned. "Both... both my children are now targets. What madness have we entered?"

Raphael appeared beside Sion, solemn but ready. "If you're going, I'll help. You'll need divine speed."

With a single enchantment, the horse blazed with golden magic. It galloped like a beam of light, ripping through the fields of the realm.

On the way to the Leaf Kingdom, Sion passed through the war-torn borderlands of the Sidom Kingdom. Leaf soldiers stationed there tried to block his path—he didn't spare a word. His aura spiked to 30%. Bodies flew, bones shattered, and blood rained.

He reached the outer borders of the Leaf Kingdom in mere hours. Dismounting, he activated his aura to 40%. Trees bent. Earth cracked. The guards never had a chance.

He stormed through their patrol lines, marched through noble estates—killing every corrupted noble who had supported the plot. Only the innocent wives and children were spared. No mercy, no negotiations.

Finally, he reached the royal palace.

The Leaf King, foolishly confident in his guards and magic, stood to face him. "You dare invade my kingdom alone, boy?"

Sion's eyes held no emotion—just the silence before a storm. "You dared to take what was mine."

The battle lasted only seconds. The king never stood a chance. With one final blow, the monarch of the Leaf Kingdom fell.

Then, behind the fallen throne, Sion saw her—Janet. Bruised but breathing. Unconscious, curled beneath royal drapes like a discarded doll.

He dropped to his knees, lifted her gently, whispering, "Janet… I'm here."

"Raphael, heal her. Please."

Raphael placed a glowing hand on Janet's forehead. "She's okay, Sion. Just unconscious."

At those words, Sion broke.

Tears flowed freely, dripping onto his sister's pale cheeks. "I'm sorry… I was late."

That night, the Leaf Kingdom burned.

By dawn, it no longer existed.

And across the world, a new name spread like wildfire:

Sion Ragnar—the boy who destroyed a kingdom to bring his sister home.
