Kaguya wasn't wrong.
With her power, she could easily subjugate this world's natives—
Keeping them like livestock, executing those who refused to produce chakra until rebellion became unthinkable.
Yet risks remained.
The Three Great Sage Regions. Her own sons.
Moreover, such brute-force methods wouldn't showcase Sasame's ingenuity.
Naturally, he objected.
"I propose an alternative. Not only will they willingly offer their chakra, they'll become your most devoted soldiers."
"…?"
For the first time, genuine emotion flickered across Kaguya's porcelain features.
She wasn't stupid—just socially inept.
Beyond the Infinite Tsukuyomi, she couldn't fathom another solution.
That ultimate genjutsu projected her Rinne-Sharingan's power onto the moon, trapping all life in dreamlike stasis while the God Tree drained their chakra to birth new fruit.
Left unchecked, victims would mutate into White Zetsu, ending the world.
What Sasame described sounded equally outlandish—
A system where humans voluntarily surrendered their chakra and lives.
"Explain."
Even the ascetic Kaguya now burned with curiosity.
"I call it the Celestial Network."
Sasame distilled the concept of MMORPGs into primitive terms. "The God Tree serves as the core, linking all through chakra threads—a vast web."
"Continue."
Kaguya maintained her icy demeanor, though internally baffled.
Asking for clarification would undermine her authority. A ruler must never appear ignorant before subordinates.
"Once established, chakra becomes currency."
Sasame paced slowly. "Want to learn a technique? Pay in chakra. Crave power? Offer more."
"What are… 'techniques'?"
The term meant nothing to her.
Kaguya's abilities—Amenominaka, Killing Ash Bones—were innate, not learned systems.
"Structured applications of chakra."
Sasame shamelessly claimed credit. "With limited reserves, I developed this 'ninjutsu' framework to maximize efficiency."
With Hagoromo still a babe, who could contradict him?
"Observe."
He formed seals. "Suiton: Suiryūben!"
A whip of water coiled around his arm.
Kaguya studied it silently.
She understood chakra natures—possessing all seven herself—but saw no need for such trivial applications when Truth-Seeking Balls obliterated everything.
Yet Sasame's ingenuity impressed her.
For the first time, she acknowledged her attendant's intellect.
"Pointless for you, invaluable for humans."
Sasame dismissed the water whip. "Offer advanced techniques as rewards for killing enemies—watch how fiercely they compete."
Kaguya's eyes gleamed.
An entire race of self-motivated warriors, addicted to her chakra economy.
"You can resurrect humans, yes?"
Her nod confirmed it. Unlike Rinne Tensei's life-for-life exchange, her version required minimal energy.
"Then make revival the ultimate prize."
Sasame's smile turned predatory. "Imagine their desperation."
Unkillable players. The ultimate fourth-wall-breaking exploit.
Kaguya stared. Had the Ōtsutsuki employed such methods, rebellions would've been unthinkable.
"Your thoughts?"
Sasame pressed as she remained silent.
Deities? Either submit or face extermination by Kaguya and her "player army."
Only the Sage Regions posed uncertainty.
On surface level, his system benefited the world—
With enough participants, the God Tree might not need to drain the planet.
But the Sages' privileged status would crumble.
While Katsuyu might remain passive, the Great Toad Sage's ambition wouldn't tolerate such disruption.
Speaking of which—
Sasame rubbed his chin. Can I still summon Katsuyu?
Unlikely. Summoning contracts didn't exist yet.
"Proceed."
Kaguya approved. Achieving Infinite Tsukuyomi's results without the energy cost? Ideal.
Her gaze lingered on Sasame.
Such contributions warranted… compensation.
"State your desire."
The offer stunned him.
Progress.
But what to request?
Straight-up Rinnegan evolution? Too greedy—she'd never squander chakra.
Original jutsu creation? Beneath her; she'd outperform Hagoromo effortlessly if motivated.
Then it struck him—
Temporary rewards paled next to permanent influence.
Closing the distance between them, Sasame stepped into Kaguya's personal space.
She didn't retreat.
Romance meant nothing to her. Attraction was alien.
Yet Sasame's presence… wasn't unpleasant.
His lips met hers in a chaste kiss.
"…?"
Confusion shimmered in Kaguya's glowing eyes.
What was this sensation?
Strangely… not objectionable.
"My reward."
Sasame lied smoothly. "For attendants, proximity to their liege is the highest honor."
Preferably zero-gap proximity.
Kaguya accepted the logic.
An eccentric servant, but one whose value outweighed quirks.
Best of all—it cost her no chakra.
"The Celestial Network requires one final component."
Sasame licked his lips. "Could you develop a jutsu converting chakra into mental waves? Enabling instant communication across any distance, anchored to the God Tree."
He described the Akatsuki's Holographic Projection Technique—trivial for a Rinne-Sharingan wielder.
"Additionally, embedding it in physical vessels—rings, bracelets—would optimize accessibility."
Essentially, game login devices.
Turning their world into a chakra-powered MMORPG was, ironically, another flavor of Infinite Tsukuyomi.
"Understood."
Kaguya withdrew into contemplation.
Sasame left her to it—
He had beta testers to recruit.
Even in the future, many lacked chakra potential. Now? Far worse.
Elite players—those with innate talent—must be identified early to maximize efficiency.
Truly, the model attendant.
Mount Myōboku
The Three Great Sages convened.
"Well, Gama?"
The White Snake Sage exhaled smoke from its pipe. Still youthful, unshaped into humanoid form, yet already a powerhouse.
"The conception blessing is set."
Gama (future Great Toad Sage) gestured with webbed fingers. "Her 'children' will arrive shortly."
"You're certain they'll turn against her?"
Doubt laced the serpent's voice. "Faith-conceived or not, they're still her flesh."
"The prophecy is clear."
Gama tapped his third eyelid. "We need only wait."
"If only we could locate the one she betrayed…"
The White Snake sighed. "But he eludes even our senses."
"Patience."
Gama's tone brooked no argument. "Dual strategies ensure victory. The world—and humanity—will* be saved."*
Silent as always, Katsuyu observed.
Where snakes schemed and toads prophesied, the slug sage remained… blissfully detached.
