A teenager stood on top of a building, his eyes puffy and unfocused. His thoughts were clouded by suicidal despair—he had lost all will to fight. Life no longer held meaning for him. He had given up entirely. He wished, and still does, to be reborn in another life.
"I hope my next life will be better," he thought as he jumped off the building.
People walked normally down below, unaware—until his body hit the pavement with a sickening thud. Blood splattered. The pain was gone as soon as it came. He felt nothing.
Until—
"Arise," said a commanding voice.
He obeyed instinctively, standing up. In front of him stood none other than Sung Jin-Woo. He recognized him instantly. Before he could react, a system notification echoed in his mind.
System: Transfer complete. Accepted automatically.
Then—darkness.
He awoke in a room. No… this wasn't his room. Suddenly, a flood of memories hit him—faster than his fall to the street.
He was now Azika Yiju. People called him Shadow. He was always in the shadows, sneaking. An orphan. Yesterday had been his first day at the ninja academy.
He checked his alarm clock. 7:00 AM. He was going to be late! He rushed to get ready but paused when he saw the date.
It was the weekend.
