Alessandro's POV
Father said he would come for Amelia and he really did. I recognised those scumbags he sent, they were his men.
I gritted my teeth as I stood up, holding my bandaged side.
I would save Amelia no matter what it takes.
"The wound would take time to heal, Mr DeMarco. I'd advise that you rest for a while before setting out." The nurse advised but I hissed at her words.
Rest when Amelia was out there in danger? Father would kill her any moment from now. He was desperate and he wouldn't even think twice before doing it.
I dragged my feet out of the clinic and the nurse didn't even bother to argue with me.
"Capo." Gianni called, rushing towards me and grabbing my arm as I was about to fall.
"You can't go anywhere now, the wound is still fresh." He said but I shook my head, slapping his hand off.
"I have to be somewhere. I'll be fine, you don't have to worry."
Gianni sighed, rubbing his forehead. "Capo, you can't go after your father? What do you think is going to happen when a fight transpires between the both of you. The clan would be in danger."
I scoffed, "do I care?" My voice was stern and cold. Father shouldn't have messed up with me when he wanted peace?
"I have to get Amelia, do you know what he's going to do to her if I leave her there? I know father too well, he keeps to his words and when he gives a threat, he would go to any length to keep it."
"Old DeMarco would be disappointed, you should cause a ruckus because of Amelia? This Clan's safety is our top priority right now." Gianni argued and his words had started to get me angry.
I rolled my eyes at him, my fists balled by my side. He was only being selfish, would he have left Vesper to herself if she was in trouble?
I paid no attention to his tantrums and just focused on dragging myself to the garage where my car was parked.
I couldn't stop cursing within me as I drove out of the mansion. It was hard to keep my hands on the steering wheel cause the wound by my side was a very deep one, the nurse had only gotten the bullet out but the severe pain still remained.
I stepped out of the car when I arrived at my father's estate. I didn't know exactly where he hit Amelia but I kept going.
The security men tried to stop me but I shot them and dragged my feet against the cold floor, searching every corner.
I halted in my tracks when I heard a scream — a familiar voice. I froze on spot, wasn't that Amelia's voice?
I followed the direction where the cry was coming from and quickly pushed the door open.
A lump built up in my thrust at the sight before me. Amelia was seated on a metal chair and arms folded with chains and bound to the back of the chair.
I could see father's back, his shirt was off and his muscles flexed. He was so angry and I could tell. Anytime he was like this, he would be so hard to tame but do I care?
I didn't come here to negotiate. I was here to take what belonged to me and that was Amelia.
I clenched my fists at the sight of her bruises. Father had gone way too far and right now, I cared less about the father and son relationship between us.
I was determined. I would rescue Amelia from him when if it meant thrusting the Clan in chaos.
"Sandro!" Amelia screamed when she saw me step further into the cold room. "He's going to kill me." She cried and I wanted to hold her, kiss her and tell her all would be fine but first, I had to take care of my adamant father.
"I knew you would come." Father chuckled, his back still turned at me. He swiveled the the knife in his hand as he paced back and forth. "I was counting down the seconds and you came at the right time. Oops…" his gaze flickered towards my bleeding wound. "I guess you got hurt just because you couldn't clear a simple trashy feeling off your fucking mind but do I care?"
He paused, laughing out loud but soon a scowl soon replaced it.
"Perfect timing, son." He clapped and trailed the cold metal along Amelia's skin. She looked up at me, as if begging for help.
Her eyes screamed pain and I wanted to get her out of here real quick but at the same time, I had to be careful 'cause I was now literally at father's mercy.
"Dad, release her right away." I said, my voice stern. "I'm doing my best to avoid trouble but you seem to be causing one every fucking time."
"Exactly!" He remarked, making me squint my brows. He gestured at Amelia, "the real is right under your abode, how can more trouble not keeping coming? She causes them and ever since you let her into your life, things have changed, don't see you it, Alessandro?"
I stepped closer, my face holding no remorse. Father's words were only to make me feel less of myself. To see him as the right one here but he should understand that I don't let my ego down easily especially not with the one I love.
"You're not going to dictate how I live my life, dad. I've always done everything you wanted but this time, I'm going to disobey you."
He gnashed his teeth against one another, his veins popping. He was provoked but I cared less about his emotions. I wanted to be out of here with my property as soon as possible.
I was afraid father night slip out some secrets I would never want Amelia to find out.
"Now I'm going to end her life in your presence!" He yelled, his voice dripping with finality. Amelia gasped, cringing in fear as father pointed the gun at her.
The scowl on his face told he wouldn't be changing his mind. As much as this seemed like a threat, it was real.
"Then, I'm afraid I might do what I'd regret." I pulled the trigger behind him but he was quick to shoot.
The light went off and a loud groan followed. Father fell, I had shot him.
My whole body grew cold, my hands shaking. Did I just kill my own father?
But he pulled the trigger too, did Amelia die?
