CHAPTER 1
*Hayley Silver*
I'm in love with my boss but who could blame me. He is sinfully handsome that it should be illegal.He has jet black hair,pink lips and a jaw so sharp it could cut through glass.No one knows that I'm in love with him because if they did my job would have been long gone .
Today is Monday and l have to go to work, ugh worst day of the week .I wore a black slack ,with a white shirt and topped it off with a blazer .I didn't want to come home with my feet hurting so l wore loafers .My job can be a bit demanding sometimes, being a personal assistant is not an easy job.
I heard a car horn outside.That must be Jeff ,my personal driver who was hired by my boss because he doesn't want me to come late.He comes to pick me up everyday at 7 am sharp .l locked my door and made my way to the car
Me: Good morning Jeff
Him: Morning miss Silver
Me:let's go
That's how far our conversation goes everyday ,I don't know why .Most of the time l tell him to call me by my name but he just doesn't listen so l just let it be .
15 minutes later we pulled up at the office and l got out
Me: Goodbye Jeff
Jeff:See you later miss Silver
With that said he drove off .As l was about to walk in Mr Vestav my boss was getting out of his car and his side was Clara ,his girlfriend who l happen to hate by the way partly because she is with Mr Vestav but mostly because she can be such a nuisance.She stuck to him like glue which is totally unnecessary because Mr Vestav only focuses on his work not women which is one of the things l like about him.
I made my way to them
Me: Good morning Mr Vestav, Good morning Miss Clara
Him: Morning Miss Silver
Miss Clara didn't answer , she just clicked her tongue and left
See ,she is a nuisance
Him: Don't mind her we have a lot to do
Me: it's ok ,l know how she is.
Him:ok then let's go , what's on my schedule today
Me:You have a meeting from 8 to 11 and You are to have lunch with Mr Sanders .
Him: Clara's dad (he frowned) .Cancel it
Me:But l might lose my job
Him:You won't
I stopped when we had reached the office and opened the door for us.We shared the same office which maybe that's why Clara thought something was going on between us (I wish)but it was strictly business.Mr Sanders expressed his displeasure a lot of times but Mr Vestav wasn't having any of it reason being that he didn't want me to slack off as if l could ,l have too much work to slack off
I sat on my desk and he sat on his and we began working.Nothing was said for a long time which I've gotten used to.
Me:Sir it's time for the meeting
Him: Already let's go
Me: Aren't we supposed to wait for Miss Clara
Him:She is late ,she will catch up to us

That girl irks me so much,l don't know why . When she greeted me l felt like slapping her for some reason.I see the way Tristan looks at her and how he treats her, like she is his girlfriend or something.l have to get rid of her one way or another
I was just in my office browsing on the Interview when I noticed that it was already 8.05.Oh my God Tristan was going to be mad at me.
I knocked on his office but no one answered .l guess they already left ,oh well I should go back to my office and browse .
I was lost in thought when he barged into my office and he looked very angry
Him:Why didn't you come to the meeting
Me:I forgot I'm sorry
Him: You forgot such an important meeting
Me:I was busy
Him: Sign those papers l need them in 20 minutes (he threw them at me
Me: okay
He left without a word.l don't get why he is so mad it's not like both of us were needed at the meeting and anyway he will get over it with time

Miss Clara didn't come to the meeting today which was very unprofessional of her .It took us months to convince these people to sign a deal with us and she just decided not to come .Mr Vestav was very furious but he didn't show it .We were able to complete the meeting without her but still she had to be there.After the investors left he just took off I'm guessing to miss Clara's office.I decided not to pry and went to do my job
He came back after some time and sat down
Him:Miss Silver
Me:Yes
Him: Let's go
Me:Where
Him:To have an early lunch
Me:but you have to meet Miss Clara's dad
Him:I told you to cancel that lunch so cancel it
Me:ok so what am l going to tell him
Him:You will figure it out ,you always do
Me:ok
I took the phone and called Mr Sanders and man he was furious but isn't he used to it by now .Mr Vestav cancels like every meeting between them but he just keeps on insisting
Mr Vestav:Did you tell him
Me:Yes
Him:them let's go
We went to a BiteBuzz ,a restaurant l would not dream to go to even if l just won a lottery.I screamed expensive just from the outside so l never thought I would go in there until today.The host escorted us to our seats and handed us the menu's
Host:Call me if you're ready to order
Me:ok
Mr Vestav: Order anything you want,my treat
Me:I have a question
He didn't look at me
Him:ok what is it
Me:Why did you take me here
Him:to eat obviously
Me:But don't you usually have lunch with Miss Clara
Him:I don't feel like being with her today

He gave the order and our dishes came a little later .We were eating in silence when l noticed him staring at me
Me:is there something on my face
Him:No

Him:When is the Conference in Ocean View
Me:You're to leave this Friday and come back on Sunday.
Him:ok l want you to come with me
Me:Can l ask why
Him: You're my personal assistant that's why .Book the hotel for us and take care of everything we will need during our stay there

Him:If you are done let's go
He paid our bills and we went back to the office only to find Miss Clara standing at the gate looking very angry.l don't know how it happened but she slapped me hard across the face

Mr Vestav: What did she do that you're calling her a witch
Her:She bewitched you that's why you're not paying attention to me and going out with her
Mr Vestav:Did you ever think that it's all your fault before blaming others
Miss Clara:is this because I didn't attend that meeting,if so then I'm sorry
Mr Vestav:no and you know it ,now apologize
Miss Clara:never
She just left
Mr Vestav:I'm sorry
He caressed my cheek so softly as if he was afraid to hurt me
Him: let's go to the doctor
Me:it's not that bad l just need an icepack and it will be fine
It was only then when l noticed that people were looking at us with curious eyes probably looking for something to gossip about.
Me:I will go get an ice pack
Him: Don't worry about it,I will go get it
Me:it's ok
Mr Vestav:Miss Silver what did l say about opposing everything l say
Me: You said not to do it
Him: Good now go to the office and wait for me there

I went into the office and sat down on the couch staring into space .Mr Vestav was making it hard for my feelings for him not to increase.When he does things like that does he know what it does to me.Just then Judy (my best friend )came into my office.
Judy:I saw boss leaving so tell me what happened

Her:I saw miss Clara slap you
Me:she thinking I'm trying to steal her boyfriend
Her:Are you
Me:No l would never do that
Her:I know how you feel about him
Me:I do like him but he belongs to her and l have long accepted it
Her:oh babe ,life is not fair
Me:I know but what can we do
Her:I think it's time you do something about it ,you also need to be happy
Me: What do you suggest l do
Her:Go along with whatever he is doing and see how it goes

Her:I will come to your house later tonight,we can finish this conversation then
Me:ok no now go he might come back and you will be in trouble

With that said she left .Mr Vestav came in a few seconds later holding an icepack and handed it to me
Mr Vestav:How are you feeling
Me:I will survive
Him:I'm so sorry I didn't think she would slap you
Me:it's ok
Him:no it's not she hit you for no reason and it's unacceptable,I will make sure she faces the consequences
Me:Pliz don't do anything without thinking it through
Him:I won't , come let's me take you home
Me: it's not time to go home yet
Him:l know but I'm giving you a half day and besides there is nothing scheduled for today

Him: Don't bother he went to do something for me so l will take you home

Our office's are transparent so when we passed by Miss Clara's office she glared at me so much that l could feel her eyes until we got to the parking lot
He didn't seem to need directions because he drove me straight to my apartment

I went into my apartment and quickly made something to eat because l was hungry.Earlier l couldn't eat properly because l was so nervous.I didn't have anything to do so l binge watched The vampire diaries.Hours and hours went by and l heard a doorbell
That's probably Judy she said she was coming
Me:hey babes
Her:Hey ,you are living thee life
Me: don't start,
Her:What it's true ,so what were you doing before l got here
Me:I was binge watching Vampire diaries
Her:oh l love that show but that's not why I'm here so let's talk about you and Mr Vestav
Me:there is nothing to talk about
Judy:Do you think he has started developing feelings for you
Me:There is no way that is the case and besides he is with Clara
Judy:I know but l don't think he loves her

Judy:l don't know it's just a feeling

Judy: Yeah ,l need to leave my daughter will be back from School any minute now

It was already dark and l was bored out of my mind .I finished watching the series and now l had nothing to do and l was not sleepy either.Just then my phone rang and it was Mr Vestav.My heart started beating very fast thinking of reasons why he might have called but I answered it anyway

Him:Miss Silver are you busy
Me:mmm not really is there something you need me to do
Him:I want us to go somewhere wear something warm it's chilly outside.I will come pick you up in 30 minutes .
Before I could say anything he hung up .Mmm that was weird .l looked at the time and it was only 7 .l took a quick shower and wore a pair of jeans,a white top and a coat .I finished off with boots because l couldn't possibly wear heals.
I was done with everything leaving me with time to think.
"What if he wants to kill me"l laughed at how ridiculous that sounded .But seriously he has never done this before so why now
I heard a car horn outside and as if on que my heart started pounding.I mustered up the courage to go outside
I'm a very famous woman today , different cars coming to pick me up at my doorstep .l opened the door and sat at the back of the car

I did as asked because l know better than to question him.

Him: That's where l go when I need entertainment
Me:Ok that's strange(l quickly closed my mouth with my hand when l had realized what l said

He got out and l just followed behind .We got to a door that was written Talia Vestav and he just opened it without knocking
I was so not prepared for the sight before me and neither was Mr Vestav because he shouted Talia's name
She quickly separated from the person she was kissing and it turned out to be Joey my ex boyfriend

He was also shocked as l was
Talia:You guys know each other
Me: Yeah we went to college together
Her:oh ok ,you must be Hayley

Her: You're so beautiful like brother said
Me:Thank you (l said looking at him)
Him:We will go find somewhere to sit and l will see you at home

I just followed behind him without a word .He just quietly led the way to the Auditorium and we sat down .

He has never called me by my name before

Me:we went to college together

I was about to ask him why that is good when the stage manager announced that the play was starting.Everywhere quieted down.
The play was both sad and funny.Talia was a very good actress ,she might make it to broadway.At some point l found myself crying and Mr Vestav cleaned away my tears which made stop crying.He looked forward as if nothing happened .Maybe l was overthinking things.
Tha play ended and there was a standing ovation .Mr Vestav took my hand and we went outside

Him:I'm so mad at her right now
Me:Oh why
Him:I told her so many times to stay away from that Joey but she never listens
Me: Love can make you do the craziest of things
Him:I guess,let's go have dinner
Me: it's late I will cook some noodles at my house and sleep

On the way to my apartment we were quiet but there was something in the air that l can't quite understand.

He kissed my forehead and left without a word .I stand at my door for some time before going in.lt was like my feet couldn't bring themselves to move
What is this man doing to me .Since l started working there he was always professional with me and now he starts acting like this out of nowhere.l don't know what to do about it except see where it leads us.l don't want to lie I'm a bit excited
I didn't have the appetite so l just got under the covers and slept.
*The next morning*
I stood Infront of the office building dreading going in there .How was l going to face him and what do l say when l see him
My phone rang in my purse .l took it out and saw that it was Mr Vestav calling me .Was l late ,l don't think so

Him:Why are you just standing there, come to the office
Me:Yes sir
Him:get me coffee on your way here
Me:ok
I got coffee from the kitchen and made my way to the office.
Me: Good morning sir

Me:here is your coffee
I put the coffee on the table and was about to leave

Me:mmm ...mmm to the reception l want to know if they have something for me
Him: Hurry back ,l need you to do something

I quickly ran out of the office and went straight to Judy and sat in front of her

He took my hand in his and l quickly snatched it from him.He just looked at me , turned around and led the way to the office
We got to the office and l sat down on my desk while he
remained standing .I was afraid to look at him so l just focused on my computer .l looked up at him and instantly regretted it because he was staring directly at me.

I thought he was talking to me so l was about to leave

She glared at me and then left
Mr Vestav sat down on his chair and acted as if nothing happened so l didn't comment on it either instead l.decided to ask about the kind of room he wanted me to book.

Me: Should l book a suite or a regular room for your stay in Ocean View

Me:l...l don't think there is something for me to do there so I don't need to come

I laughed looking at Hayley with her mouth wide open .

I just smiled and left .My father has been bothering me since morning because of this issue with Clara .I'm not sure what he wants me to do about it.l've always made it clear that l don't want to be with Clara but he doesn't listen so now I'm going to meet him so we can know the way forward but I'm sure we are gonna have the same conversation all over again and it is starting to annoy me.
I got to where he was and sat down

He just left without a word leaving me alone.l don't know what to do about this and then there is Hayley .That woman makes me feel things without even knowing.Everytime she smiles l smile and l love to tease her sometimes.I think I'm falling for her which is not good considering the circumstances.l just hope l will find a way to get through this and get Hayley to be mine
Since l was already out l decided to call Clara so we could talk.
Thirty minutes later she came looking like she just got her hair done but l was not going to comment on that

She left . What's with people today leaving me with something to ponder about.l took my car and then went back to the office.it was near closing time so l found Hayley already organizing the table

She came a while later and l drove her to her apartment.When we got there someone was standing at her door and l couldn't see who because l was too far.She got out of the car and l followed behind her .
We got to the door only to find Joey standing there and he was holding a bouquet of flowers

We got to my apartment and a man was standing at my door.l couldn't decipher who it was and to make matters worse he was holding flowers
As l got closer l recognized him to be Joey
Me:Joey what are you doing here
Him: Hayley,I didn't think you'd have company
Tristan:Joey does my sister know that you're here
Joey:l...l ..l ..l have to go
He ran from there like the coward he was
Me:Are you gonna tell Talia about this
Him:I'm not sure

Me: because ,(l sighed) nothing

He kissed my forehead again and left .I was getting used to this bit by bit so l didn't think too much about it .I went inside my apartment and cooked my dinner ,ate and went to sleep.I didn't feel like watching Tv today
I was in my office and Tristan came from nowhere and kissed me .He started touching me all over and when he was about to remove my top when l heard my phone ringing.Geez who is calling me at this hour .l took the phone from my bed side and checked .It was an unsaved number making me more irritated

No one said a word.l was about to cut the call when l heard
"Pliz don't hang up "l instantly recognized the voice

Him:I need to talk to you
Me: About what

Me:what do you mean us

I cut the call .How stupid is he seriously .He just ruined my sleep and now I'm not sleepy at all .l decided to call on Whatsapp to reply to some messages and saw that Tristan was online.l wanted to start a conversation with him but l decided against it .A second later l got a text from him

Him: Yes I will come pick you up just wear a coat and some boots

I looked for a coat in my closet and put it on and some boots from the last time we went out .Ten minutes later he was knocking at my front door
I took my phone and opened the door for him .

Me :which Cinema would be open at this hour
Him;I know one in town that opens 24 hours Talia and l used to sneak out and go there whenever a new movie that we wanted to watch came out .

Him:We are but she is a little stubborn

He drove us to a Cinema l've never seen before .We got what we needed and went inside .They were playing a romantic movie which was very inconvenient.
We watched in silence while eating popcorn.They got to a kissing scene making me very uncomfortable.I couldn't feel Tristan looking at me making me even more uncomfortable.l looked at him and his eyes were filled with something l can't decipher.
Tristan:can l kiss you
Me:l...l ....yes (it came out as a whisper)
Without a word he kissed so hard that it was hard to breathe.He put his tongue inside of my mouth making me gasp .He explored every inch of my mouth and oh boy did l enjoy it.l don't know when and how but when the lights came on l was sitting on top of him .
I quickly made a move to get off him but he held me

Me:Are you ok
Him:I am I just need to hold you for a minute
We stayed like that for a while without saying a word .
Me:l need to go back home

Me:It's already morning and l need to prepare for work soon

He took me back to my house and l got ready for work .I was locking the door when l felt someone behind me .I turned around only to see Joey standing there . Seriously doesn't he have anything to do other that bother me

Just then Tristan's car pulled up near my apartment.He got out of the car and saw Joey .If looks could kill then he'd be six feet under right and I'm not joking.
Tristan: You're starting to be a problem ,and do you know what l do to problems
Joey:I just need to talk to Hayley,l don't see anything wrong with that
Tristan:if she wants to talk to you she will come and find you,let's go
He took my hand and we left
Him:I may need to tell Talia about this if he continues to do that
Me:l don't know what to do about him
Him: Don't worry we will find a solution
Me:mmm I've been meaning to ask what happened to Jeff
Him:You don't need him anymore

I went to the kitchen to make our breakfast while he went to the office.

I was busy reading the notes that Hayley combined for me when Clara invited herself into my office .

Me: Good morning Clara

Me:I'm ok so did you talk to your father
Clara:l didn't and besides l won't gain anything from it
Me:ok so what do you want besides firing Clara
Her: Nothing either that or I'm not talking to my father
Me: can you tell why you're so hell bent on me firing Hayley
Her:She is starting to be a nuisance

She took her bag and left .l decided not to think about her right now l had more important things to focus on .
Hayley came a while later with our food and we ate in silence .We finished eating and made our way to the board room .

I was very nervous l don't know why .The meeting went well I guess so that's a relief .All of the directors left leaving except Miss Clara's dad .

Him: what do you think you're doing
Me:I'm afraid l don't know what you're talking about
Him: You're trying to take Tristan from my daughter
Me:From what l know they are not together anymore so
Him:Those two will never break up and besides Tristan's father already signed a contract with me that they will be married or he loses his shares in the company so think about it before you do anything you will regret and get your little heart broken
He said that leaving me with so many questions.I decided to go back to the office

Me:I was in the board room

Me:I was having a chat with Mr Sanders

I went closer to him and he pulled me on his lap

He released me from his lap.l was stuck between a rock and a hard place.l decided to go with what my heart wanted as see where it goes from there.We worked in silence from then but Tristan looked at me occasionally but didn't say anything.
Now it was lunch time so l went to Judy's office and we went to the cafeteria

We finished eating lunch and l went back to the office.Mr Vestav was not there which was weird.He is usually back by now.
I went back to my desk and started working.l heard someone knocking on the door

She sat on the chair and l went back to my work

Oh Jesus why did he have to be here at this exact moment .How am l going to face him .
Talia:Brother what are you doing here
Him:what do you mean,this is my office
Talia:oh right l need to talk to you

I took that moment to dash out of the door and went to the roof .l don't know how I'm going to face Mr Vestav after this .l was so lost in thought that l didn't notice him behind me until he put his arms around me .l know that cologne anywhere ,it's the one that gives him away everytime

We went back to the office and started working .He was right ,we sure had a lot to do .The next day was the same ,work work work.

It was thee day and l was nervous.l have never been a fan of flying and l don't think that will change.My bags were already packed so now l was waiting for Mr Vestav to come and pick me up .
A while later l heard the car horn outside.l took my bags and locked the door.He met me halfway and helped me with the heaviest one .

Him: Good morning Hayley are you ready to go

He put my bags in the boot and we got in the car .I was surprised to find Jeff on the driver's seat .l thought he was fired

Jeff:hello miss Silver, how have you been
Me:l have been well thanks for asking

Me: You're too quiet what's wrong

We got to the airport and boarded our plane . Now it was time for take off and l was nervous.I think Tristan noticed it because he held my hand

We walked through some confusing passage until we got to a room that was written Vestav.Tristan knocked a bit and went in .l followed behind him without a word.An elderly woman was seating behind a desk typing something on a computer

She looked up and saw him . Automatically a smile spread on her lips and she came and hugged him
Her: what a surprise l didn't know you were coming
Him:l wanted to surprise you
Her:look at you you've grown more handsome than the last time l saw you

Tristan:mom we can't stay long we didn't have anything to eat since morning

We went through the same passageway again and left

We went there , ordered our food and started eating .We were in the middle of eating when someone stood at our table.
"Is this why you broke up with my daughter "the person said .It was none other than Mr Sanders and some other man l don't know.Of course to he would be in the town but did we really have to run into him here
Mr Sanders:watch your back Vestav and you stay away from him if you don't want trouble
He left and l suddenly lost my appetite.

Me:Do you think he will do something to you .
Tristan:No l don't think so
Me:ok then let's go back and get settled in you have a meeting this evening.We were leaving when someone pushed me and l fell into his arms
People around us started shouting

Lady: You're standing under a mistletoe so you have to kiss
Tristan and looked at each other and l was unsure what to do .He put his arm around my waist and kissed me.He bit my lip making me gasp and sneaked his tongue into my mouth exploring every inch of it.
"Get a room "someone shouted making me come back to my senses .l quickly separated from him and ran out of the restaurant

I followed Hayley outside after she ran
Me:why did you run
Her:l was embarrassed,l've never kissed anyone in public before and certainly not my boss
Me:l told you to stop referring to me as your boss

Me:yes now let's go back to the hotel and get settled in

I hailed a cab and we left for the hotel.The suite was very beautiful .The living room was so huge that it could fit at least 20 people comfortably.l bathroom was so clean and had such a nice scent that you could sleep in it and a huge bathtub at the center.My room was so beautiful and oh my bed looked so soft that if l sleep on it l don't think l will wake up .l decided to lie on it for a bit just to feel the comfort but sleep got to me somehow .
I woke up and it was dark outside .oh God Mr Vestav is going to be so mad at me .l looked for him but l couldn't find him anywhere .l sat down not knowing what to do .l heard the door being opened so l went to check . Tristan came in holding a plastic bag containing god knows what but l couldn't focus on that right now
Me:Sir I'm so sorry,I don't know how l fell asleep but l swear it wasn't intentional
Him: First of all l told you to stop calling me sir and second it's ok ,I'm sure you were tired
Me:thank you
Him:here eat we have to leave for the meeting in an hour (he handed me the plastic bag)

He kissed my forehead and went inside his room .l ate the food and went to take a shower.
I didn't pack that many clothes so it didn't take me time to choose an outfit.l was in the middle of closing my shirt buttons when the door was suddenly opened .l instantly put my hands over my breast
Me:Sir I'm almost done
Tristan:You were taking too long so l decided to check if you were ok
Me:I am ok now pliz leave
He didn't move,he just remained standing there looking at me specifically on my chest making me uncomfortable

Me:l need some privacy
Him:oh sorry l will leave now
He left me alone again but now l was too shy to go out but there was no excuse to give so l joined him and we left for the meeting.I avoided eye contact for as long as l could.He didn't comment on it but I'm sure he noticed .
We got to the hotel where the meeting was taking place .l was so not prepared to see Miss Clara here looking at me like l just murdered her cat .I was surprised when she didn't make a scene but then again how could she ,we were in the presence of very important people so that would not be very wise .Not minding others Tristan held my hand and introduced me to some of the business partners .
The meeting went well as expected.We said our goodbyes and left for the hotel .l made my way to my room when Tristan stopped me
Him:Where are you going
Me:To sleep
Him: sleep in my room tonight
Me:mmm why
Him:I'm afraid of sleeping alone
Me: Seriously (I said rolling my eyes)
Him;no l couldn't think of another excuse

With that said l went into my room and slept.Sleep didn't come immediately but it eventually did
I woke up in the morning and the living room was decorated with a lot of different flowers ,ribbons and there was a banner written

He was standing at the end of the room holding a bouquet of red roses .He walked to me slowly as if he thought l might run .
He got to where l was and kneeled down on one knee .
Him:Hayley from the moment you stepped foot into my office l knew that you were gonna be someone special .You fascinate me with the little things that you do .l love the way you make me feel without even trying but most of all l love the way you react to my touch . What I'm trying to say is that l love you and will you give me the honor of calling you my girlfriend

I was on my way when l noticed a familiar face .She really looked like her but that can't be ,she died a long time ago .As l got closer l didn't have doubts anymore .This woman was my mother but how

That's when l noticed a her on the opposite side of the table.She looked like me when l was younger and that can only mean one thing .She was my little sister .
A man came from nowhere shouted let's go and my mom stood up and followed him taking the little girl with her.I didn't know what to think or what to do .l stayed rooted to one place for god knows how long until someone snapped their fingers Infront of my face .l snapped out of my reverie and saw Tristan Infront of me
Tristan: What's wrong love,you seem shaken
Me: l saw my mother
Tristan:l thought both your parents were dead
Me:l thought that too , maybe I'm mistaken but that can't be she called my name
Tristan: Don't worry about it l will have someone look into it

JESUS there were different types of gowns and l didn't know where to start but one gown caught my eye .lt was a long green mermaid dress with thin straps and a bow at the Bossom.l was about to take it off the rack when l felt someone pulling it .l let go of it and saw that it was Miss Clara who was pulling it .
