Chapter 5 - Chapter 5 Kairos

A bright and fresh morning, just like any other day. Kairos, the only son of Duke Arkelis, woke up as usual, just like every day. But today... something felt different.

He felt a void in his chest, as if he was yearning for something faint, something that felt missing, but he couldn't figure out what it was.

Kairos got out of bed and went downstairs to have breakfast with his family, as usual.

"Kairos, you're up?"His mother's gentle voice called out.

"Yes,"He replied shortly, as usual, before walking into the dining room to join his parents at the table.

"How do you feel? You're about to start at the academy. Are you excited?"

"You're already great, son. You'll have no problem,"His father, the Duke, confidently replied.

"I hope so... but you and mom know, I'm not good at socializing. People just see me and walk away,"Kairos said with a sigh. Although it seemed like complaining, his voice held sincerity.

Though he was strong, that didn't mean he was cold or arrogant. On the contrary... Kairos was warm and gentle. It was just that the pressure around him made others hesitate to even approach him.

"Come on, don't worry so much, son,"His mother smiled reassuringly.

"This might be a good opportunity for you to meet people, to experience the outside world. Maybe you'll meet someone... who dares to talk to you,"His father continued, chuckling lightly, as if teasing, but deep down, he truly hoped for that.

They knew well that Kairos was not an ordinary child... and one day, he might even forget what he once was.

Ten years ago...

At the age of five, Kairos was truly a genius. Whether in academics or combat, he learned everything so quickly it was astonishing.

By the age of five, he had mastered all the family techniques. What many adults still couldn't do, Kairos had already accomplished.

But that... was the problem.

A child should not bear such talent without mental resilience. He learned everything except the most important thing about being human... making mistakes, and understanding others' feelings.

He had never failed, never lost, and never been reprimanded. And that made him like a machine... capable of doing everything except "being human."

His parents were so captivated by his abilities that they overlooked his emotional development.

By the time they realized... Kairos had almost lost all semblance of humanity.

For the sake of their son, they decided to seal away his magical powers with the Black Dragon King Seal and suppress his physical strength with the Crimson Thunder Dragon King Seal.

From that day forward, they raised him anew, teaching him to understand people, to make mistakes, to laugh, and to cry.

And eventually... Kairos became "human" again.

Several days later...

"Kairos, come with me."His father's voice called from the training room.

"Soon you'll be leaving for the academy. I think... it's time for you to learn the Unsealing Technique."

"Yes,"He nodded without hesitation.

Before long, the day of departure arrived.Kairos silently waved goodbye to his parents, carrying only the essentials with him.

He didn't know what the outside world would be like, or what kind of people he would meet.

But one thing he knew for sure...

He was ready.
