Anne felt as if her brain and her mouth had suddenly lost their connection for a moment. She could only stare into his eyes like someone whose tongue had tied momentarily, the way he looked at her was distracting. His gaze would occasionally shift from her eyes to her lips, and the look he gave made her heart tumble wildly.
Focus Anne, focus!
It took a lot of will, internally scolding herself before she could break out of the spell he was casting on her with his burning gaze.
"The lights in my room went off and the water too, and I was in the middle of taking a shower so I had to come in here to fully clean up." She said quickly then caught her breath at the end. But speaking too quickly wasn't the reason her breathing came faster.
"Hmm, I believe you." He muttered looking like a man who had a mouthwatering feast laid out in front of him.
But why did he sound like he only said that without actually believing that as the reason she came into his room?
