Chapter 5 - The Infinity Gauntlet

"GaanLahHass!"

"FaasRuMaar!"

"YolToorShul!"

"FoKrahDiin!"

The dragon fire, infused with Alduin immense power, was blocked, but it was not by Raiden own strength.

Four gray-bearded elders in long robes emerged from the canyon, unleashing powerful Thu'um from their mouths.

They were among the few, aside from the Dragonborn, who had mastered the Dragon Shouts. They were the most formidable beings in the human world, practicing the Way of the Voice at the Throat of the World, the peak of Skyrim, under the guidance of Paarthurnax.

And now, they would aid the prophesied hero in the battle against Alduin.

Seeing his power shattered by four insignificant ants, Alduin was utterly enraged. He was a god, the most powerful dragon in the world, capable of crushing other gods. Yet now, he was being hindered by mere ants.

Alduin swooped down towards Raiden and the Greybeards, who immediately countered with their Thu'um.

However, the Thu'um unleashed by the four Greybeards only momentarily halted Alduin advance. The stolen power was no match for Alduin in his fully unleashed form.

"Dragonborn, quickly use the power of the Elder Scrolls to banish him!" one of the Greybeards exclaimed, his eyes wide as a surge of immense power erupted from him, attempting to hold Alduin at bay.

"No!" Gormlaith wielded a longsword, climbed back and stood before the Greybeards, facing Alduin directly. "Mortals, the prophecy dictates that the Last Dragonborn must kill Alduin, or else Alduin will bring about the end of the world."

"No, hero, can't you see that it is no longer Alduin? His power has transcended itself. Now, only the power of the Elder Scrolls can stop it," the Greybeard said gravely.

Yes, the Greybeard was right. Raiden seemed to have finally found a savior and quickly retrieved the three Elder Scrolls he possessed from his magical space.

The three Elder Scrolls were Dragon, Blood, and Sun.

The Dragon Scroll recorded the power and secrets of the dragon race and had once been used to banish Alduin. The Blood Scroll contained the most vile and filthy forces in the world, hiding the secrets of the Coldharbour vampire lords. The Sun Scroll recorded the pure power of light, which had nurtured the elven race and the great artifact Auriel's Bow, capable of piercing all evil in the world.

All three Elder Scrolls possessed the power of time, allowing one to foresee the future and manipulate time. The three heroes of Sovngarde had used the power of the Dragon Scroll to banish Alduin to the end of time, trapping him for thousands of years.

"What should I do?" Raiden held the Elder Scrolls but was at a loss. His memory held no knowledge of how to activate the Elder Scrolls, so he could only look to the Greybeards for help.

"We do not know how to use the Elder Scrolls, but you do. You must know. You bear the mission, and the Divine is always watching over you," the Greybeard said.

While Raiden was pondering how to use the Elder Scrolls, the four Greybeards and three heroes fought with all their might to hold off Alduin for him. However, their strength was utterly insufficient to stop Alduin advance. The fallen Odahviing flew over, using its body to tightly entangle Alduin, buying them precious time.

Yet, all this power seemed insignificant before Alduin. Just as Alduin was about to kill them, the ancient spirits sounded the final horn.

"Fear not our deaths! They believe we are immortal because of our faith, but in truth, we are just cowardly warriors who fear death. We fear that after we die, the ones we love and the world we cherish will be destroyed by chaos. Now, we will use our deaths to quell the chaos..."

The spirits transformed into pure souls and surged into the sky, circling Alduin massive form. They used the energy of their bodies to crash into Alduin.

At this moment, Alduin scales seemed useless. The power of the spirits ruthlessly pierced through Alduin body.

Although this couldn't kill Alduin, it made the mighty god feel pain he hadn't experienced in a long time.

"Roarrrrrrr!"

Alduin was truly enraged. His power to end all things once again manifested in the mortal world. He intended to destroy this world.

Meanwhile, the countless powers of the spirits converged, appearing before Raiden.

"Last Dragonborn, we will forge an eternal pact with you. We will become your blade, cutting through the thorns on your path. Now, we will become your strength!" Countless voices overlapped, and this soul pact was unilaterally formed without Raiden consent.

As the spirits were about to transform into a sword in Raiden hand, their final words echoed,

"If you can conquer your fear, it means you can overcome death!"

After the final words faded, the spirits turned into a blazing spirit sword in Raiden hand, which then flew out and struck Alduin.

Ancient, profound soul power erupted from the spirit sword, slowing Alduin advance.

........

In the endless void, Akatosh, the Dragon God of Time, was watching all this unfold. The situation had deviated from his plan.

Alduin, his firstborn, a fallen divine, had power beyond his imagination. Akatosh couldn't help but wonder where Alduin had gained such immense strength.

"Akatosh, we can't wait any longer," said Kynareth, the Goddess of Elements, beside him. "The divines cannot directly interfere in the mortal world. Now, apart from the power of the Elder Scrolls, we cannot stop Alduin."

"But that would only delay the inevitable. Alduin will still end the mortal world and begin devouring the void," Akatosh said gravely.

"In that case, not only would the other divines disagree, but even the Daedric Princes wouldn't want to see this happen," Kynareth said with a meaningful smile.

Akatosh pondered, but the situation in the mortal world no longer allowed him to waste time. Alduin power had surpassed what the spirit sword could withstand.

"Perhaps you are right," Akatosh said, his hand gesturing in the void. The power of time surged through the endless Oblivion, heading toward the mortal realm.

In Oblivion, many of the Aedra and Daedra breathed a sigh of relief, finally spared from the trouble. The gatekeeper in Sovngarde, who had been silently observing all of this, also exhaled in relief.

Beyond the mortal realm, golden dragon flames enveloped it—Akatosh's own power protecting it. Beyond the flames, the mortal realm own rules safeguarded itself.

...

Alduin! He was unstoppable!

The blade of the Sword of Sovngarde began to shatter.

At this critical moment, time suddenly froze, and a tremendous force bound everything.

"Akatosh! Father, you cannot stop me!" Alduin roared, struggling fiercely. The space around him began to crumble bit by bit. Even Akatosh power could not completely restrain Alduin!

Yet, within the frozen time, Raiden remained unaffected. It was as if something new had appeared in his mind, and this newfound knowledge instinctively taught him how to use the Elder Scrolls.

Facing the ferocious Alduin, Raiden calmly chanted an incantation. Three Elder Scrolls floated around him, gradually emitting power in response to his call.

"Roarrrrrr!"

Alduin recalled the memory of his exile at the end of time—a void where he had been banished for not just two thousand years, but countless millennia.

A single second in the outside world could represent tens of thousands of years at the end of time.

The space around Alduin began to collapse bit by bit, and time was consuming him...

Just as the power of the Elder Scrolls was about to banish Alduin to the end of time, he let out a furious roar of defiance. He would not allow it. He would never allow anyone to imprison him in that void again.

Struggling, he extended his dragon claw, and within it, power surged. A golden gauntlet embedded with six gems appeared in his claw.

Raiden frowned slightly as he looked at the gauntlet. What? Wasnt that the Infinity Gauntlet? How did it end up in Alduin possession?

After arriving in this world, Raiden had once thought about the Infinity Gauntlet, but due to the urgency of the situation, he hadn't dwelled on it. Yet, he never expected it to appear in Alduin grasp now.

Alduin voice echoed across the sky.

"This little trinket—I don't know what it is, but I can feel the power it holds. If you wish to banish me, then try it!"

Alduin crushed the Infinity Gauntlet, and an immense power erupted from the shattered gems, momentarily breaking free from the Elder Scroll restraint.

Alduin, carrying the immense power that was about to explode, flew toward Raiden. The storm of power erupted the moment they collided.

....

After the tempest of power subsided, everything vanished into thin air, leaving only the torn space slowly repairing itself.

Had the prophecy finally come true?

Did the Last Dragonborn slay Alduin?
