Chapter 2 - chapter 2:THE MARK BENEATH HIS SKIN

The darkness that once bound him was gone.

He awoke… drenched, trembling, breathless… in a world that felt too warm, too bright.

The air was different. The silence, unfamiliar.

He had crossed the barrier.

And she was the first to find him.

An old woman cloaked in secrets, with eyes that held memories of a realm long forgotten.

She didn't flinch at his presence...

The tides had shifted. The darkness that once bound him was gone. He awoke... drenched, trembling, and breathless.. in a world that felt too warm, too bright. The air was different. The silence, unfamiliar.

He had crossed the barrier.

And she was the first to find him.

An old woman cloaked in secrets, with eyes that held memories of a realm long forgotten.

She didn't flinch at his presence... she recognized it because of the mark that shone at his back, the demon sign...

She decided to raise him,but that wouldn't be easy because here in the human world they're are no demons just angels, she wasn't an angel nor a demon but she knew about them. The angels crossed the barriers and decided to live among humans many years ago because when the demons rose, they didn't just bring chaos...they brought power, ruthless unrelenting wings of the flame which tore through wings of light. And in a war that scorched both realms, the angels for the first time....fell!

Not by fate,but by force

She named him..Kaelith,a name that blends well in both the supernatural and human world.

The old woman who helped kealith was called Helen McClure.

Helen lived not too far from the woods, in a quiet, forgotten part of the world where whispers of old magic still lingered in the wind.

Years had passed since she found him... and now, Kaelith was no longer the trembling child wrapped in shadows.

He had grown… into something both feared and fated.

Eventually, Kaelith could no longer be hidden.

The woman knew he needed to see the world beyond the woods.... to learn, to blend, to survive.

So he was enrolled in school.

To the world, he was just another new face… tall, quiet, unsettling.

But beneath the surface, he was brilliant...too brilliant.

He learned fast, understood more than he should have, and outshone even the brightest minds.

Yet with that brilliance came something darker.

His temper was sharp, unpredictable... like a blade always just an inch from being drawn.

He didn't understand why… but the rage inside him never truly slept.

It was kealith first day at school.kealith aren't you done washing up,you'll be late for your first day at school!! C'mon hurry!....Helen shouted

I'll be right there in a sec!.. kealith shouted back

Why can't I find my favourite shirt.. kealith said angrily and broke the glass cup of tea he held in his right hand, Helen wasn't surprised, she knew his demon side would wake up someday

It's in the laundry...Helen said softly

As they drove to the school, kealith looked amazed, for the first time in so many years he finally gets to see the outside world, but his expression didn't show that he was amazed,he was still mad at himself because he yelled at Helen, she means so much to him.

They arrived at the school, she gave him motivational speeches and told him not to let anyone see the mark on his back.

she recognized it, marked by the symbol that glowed faintly at his back.

The demon's mark.

She decided to raise him ...though she knew it wouldn't be easy.

Here, in the human world, there were no demons… only angels.

But Helen McClure was neither angel nor demon.

She was something else ... something old ... and she knew of their kind.

The angels had crossed the barrier long ago, choosing to live among humans after the war.

For when the demons rose, they didn't just bring chaos…

They brought power.

Ruthless. Unrelenting.

Wings of flame tore through wings of light.

And in a war that scorched both realms, the angels... for the first time... fell.

Not by fate… but by force.

She named him Kaelith...a name that could pass in both the supernatural and human worlds.

Helen lived not far from the woods, in a quiet, forgotten part of the world where whispers of old magic still clung to the wind.

He had grown… into something both feared and fated.

to learn, to blend, to survive.

But beneath the surface, he was brilliant. Too brilliant.

He learned fast, grasped things no one could explain, and outshone even the brightest minds.

Yet brilliance came with something darker.

His temper was sharp. Unpredictable.

Like a blade always an inch from being drawn.

He didn't understand why…

But the rage inside him never truly slept.

It was Kaelith's first day of school.

"Kaelith! Aren't you done washing up? You'll be late!" Helen shouted from the kitchen.

"I'll be right there in a sec!" he called back.

He searched for his favorite shirt, frowning. "Where is it…"

Then...crash... the glass cup in his hand shattered.

He'd squeezed too hard.

Helen didn't flinch.

She knew this day would come...the day his demon side began to stir.

"It's in the laundry," she said gently.

The car ride was quiet.

Kaelith stared out the window, eyes wide behind a stoic expression.

He was amazed... for the first time in years, he was seeing the outside world.

But his face didn't show it.

He was still angry...not at Helen, but at himself…

For yelling at her.

She meant everything to him.

When they arrived at the school, Helen turned to him and placed a hand on his shoulder.

"Remember," she said softly, "no one must see the mark."
