Chapter 2 - Beginnings Part 1

- Thirty-five... Thirty-six... Still thirty-six come on give me one more, we must reach fifty - said a female voice, it was a soft voice that carried all her years of experience in the best ways aged like the finest of wines, she was sitting in lotusflower position above a big rock,, a young male voice protested - just what is this for? this type of training would snap a gorilla's back- he said as he continued his push-ups...with the rock and the woman in his back, -oh poor naive kid, Wuxing, what will happen if you have to run through the forest with your beloved one in your arms? You will need every ounce of strength you can to escape to an abandoned house under the rain <3 I can't wait to meet my grandsons and granddaughters- Wuxing finally collapsed under the rock.

-I won't have offspring if you cripple me before then Mom- the woman descended the rock and pushed it away from Wuxing's back and then sighed -kids these days I tell you... anyway, it is time for you to sell the elixirs, she ran and hurried back from the twiggen house carrying the elixirs in wooden boxes -and spread our lemma, if we can't heal it is because it wasn't alive, to begin with- said my mother and then headed back to the garden inspecting every leaf of every plant "she greets every flower, geez" and so I descended the mountain as the whistling of my mother resonated in the walls of the canyons.

Hours went by, I greeted old folks, winked some to the beautiful women on the valley, and exchanged some words with my friends, another usual day, it would be weren't it for five men wandering the town, four of them had full black sets of clothing with worn-out boots, they were quite notorious especially because the sabers in their hips but even those scary looking fighters paled in comparison to the man leading the formation, two meters tall, soft glowing fair skin, long hair and a certain elegance fitting royalty contrasting with his rough way of dressing, moreover the immense sword he carried, a sword almost as tall as an adult, thankfully they didn't even notice me, I guess they got no reason to meddle with a small fry like me, so when the sun began to set I picked up the wooden boxes with the remaining elixirs.

-And so another day ends- I muttered to myself as I walked the path that goes between the valley town and the cold, dark, foggy mountain terrains, the crunch of my boots and the birds chirping were the only things to be heard until in the distance I heard some yelling "this cant mean any good" I ran to the top, my muscles eating the distance with ease, when I arrived the plateau my home is in. I couldn't believe the morbid scene unfolding before me.

-Haaaaaah! You coward runts, I'll rip off your throats and feed it to the pigs-

My mother's tender eyes filled with rage, her normally unblemished robes now tainted with blood and mud, her fair skin full of cuts and bruises standing above the corpses of three men, they were the men I saw in the village, At that moment something within me awakened, an indescribable type of fury coming from the depths of myself.

-HOW DARE YOU HURT MY MOTHER, YOU FIENDS!- I said as my body moved almost automatically, every particle of my body screaming to make them pay; I closened the distance with the maze I used for work and swung it downwards to the head of the only remaining underlying -Take This!-, the man with arrogance all on his voice blocked my attack easily, -Do you think an ant like you is even worth my fur...- before he could continue his speech I kicked him in the guts sending him flying in the process

-Ants shouldn't meddle in the adults' affairs- said the leader in a deep voice -you will pay for your insolence-

"oh crap", I muttered the curse for myself as the man threw a pair of knives at me which I barely dodged just to find him in an open vertical slash position just before me, for the first time I knew what fear was like, his blood-filled eyes stared down on me as his sword fell heavily on me, -snap out of it Wuxing!- I saw a crimson dash strike the side of the man followed by a metallic clash, the man managed to block the attack but the sheer force of the attack sent him meters away as his feet fought to grip the ground, my mother's fingers and nails were crimson red, I could sense it, her qi was flowing from her body up to his arms and ultimately her nails, -I see you are as careless as ever but make no mistake Ye, today your mistakes will be your last, I am not the same from twelve years ago- hissed my mother as all her veins popped.

The man stabbed the ground with his sword and blabbered -oh Ning long time no see, how long has it been? Twelve...thirteen years? doesn't matter you are as vulgar as ever, do you really think that farmer technique is gonna cut it? I guess vulgar stays vulgar regardless of time nor place- he eyed me up and down from his position -by the fact that only you two are here I guess my dear cousin Feng must have passed away, I spent all these running, crawling between mud and waste just not to die, so watch closely dear Feng, watch as I rip to shreds your harlot and bastard- he took back his gigantic sword and rose it.

My mother and I split up around the man whom now I know is named Ye, my mother hissed back -When...When will you stop blaming others for your decisions? Feng is more loyal than any of you would ever be, but he is only loyal to those worth it, now DIE YOU TREACHEROUS SCUM!- my mother lunged forward with her right hand poised to stab his neck, the man with speed unfitting both his size and the size of his sword, he blocked the attack -my turn prick- I jumped at him from behind, I focused and flowed my qi to my fists, my fists burnt a vermilion red fire, this was an incomplete qi control as I could only enhance my fists and not my wrists or arms, the man swung his sword in a circular motion and parried my punch as my fist and the iron of his sword resonated "tsk my wrist felt that" I thought as I leaped back

Both my mother and I kept circlying him trying to create a good gap to get at him but the reach of his sword was almost impossible to get through, a reach so big that it can hit you far before than you can attack, a weapon so light that even if you close the distance it's blade will always come back on time to block and create distance yet again "wait, I dont have to beat the sword I just need to kill the the swordsman" I made signals to my mom, she gave me a stern look, a look with a clear message "dont do something reckless" I just smirked and dashed in, i gathered all my qi on my right fist and swung it open, the man was startled at first but he only turned his hips and swung his sword in a vertical downwards slash, with fear on his face mother rushed in too "his attack is too obvious... the sword is gonna strike" with a lightning motion I redirected my fist evading the slash of the assasin and hitting the ground, dust and debris flew in the air blocking vision for him that is, I smirked as I saw what I expected, mom jumped in the air and now her crimson nails are falling down to the man, I hurried out of the impact zone, when I turned around I saw the contact of the giant sword with her hand but what I saw was weird, both of them... since I was a child I learnt to feel the flow of qi, they didnt change nothing in their inner qi nor seemed to have taken qi from nature but their power output was something bigger, more violent...something scary, the impact was so big that the sheer expansive wave dispersed the dust coutrain I created, both parties made distance, mother nails were cracked and the man's sword was pierced in the centre, but most importantly both their eyes were shining, mother's eyes were shining crimson red whilst the man glowed a deep blue, and as such the real fight had just begun.
