Crow's fingers absentmindedly trailed along Rose's soft hair as she curled up in his lap like a cat, her eyes half-lidded in satisfaction. Lyravex sat nearby, feigning disinterest while shooting daggers from her gaze every time Rose exhaled too happily.
The throne room of his floating fortress was peaceful—for once.
That peace didn't last.
Rose tilted her head up, catching Crow's hand as he reached to move a strand of her hair.

Crow froze.
Lyravex stood up so fast her chair clattered backward.

Rose only smiled, lips brushing his skin as she whispered, "You taste like victory, Master."
"…I taste like coffee and regret," Crow grumbled, pulling his hand back slowly, as though any sudden movement might trigger another surprise.
Lyravex stepped forward, voice clipped. "You're getting too bold."
Rose leaned her cheek against Crow's chest, clearly unbothered. "Maybe. But Master hasn't told me to stop."
Crow sighed deeply, staring up at the ceiling of his mobile floating city.
"Gods help me… I'm surrounded."
And somewhere in the distance, his SSS-rank pet howled with perfect comedic timing.
