Chapter Two Hundred and Thirty-Three – "Where Is My Master?"
Rose sat at the gates of Novice Village, her spear stabbed into the ground beside her, unmoving. The fiery glint in her eyes had dimmed to a dull glow. Players passed by at a distance, whispering but never daring to speak to her directly.
She didn't care.
Her thoughts were locked on one person.
"Why hasn't Master summoned me yet…?"
The system's Divine Contract bound her heart and soul to Crow—and with it, a loyalty deeper than logic. But now, she couldn't find him. She didn't even know who he was. Only that when the contract took hold, her entire being screamed belonging.
She wrapped her arms around her knees, resting her chin as she stared at the ground.
"Maybe… Master doesn't want me?"
A soft glow of sorrow shimmered in her crimson eyes. For the first time since she'd awakened her strength, Rose felt powerless.
All she wanted was a pat on the head… a voice calling her name… or to hear him say, "Good job."
But he hadn't come.
