Chapter 145 - 145

Chapter One Hundred and Forty-Five

The air crackled—not with magic, but tension.

Crow stood atop a ruined altar as the last remnants of a time-bound beast crumbled into ash behind them. Xar'Zenth slumbered in the skies above, wings wrapped around the moon itself, casting an eternal eclipse over the battlefield.

Liana moved first. With a smile that could rival the stars, she stepped into Crow's space and, without hesitation, kissed him—soft, lingering, filled with possessiveness. The world seemed to freeze around them, the wind holding its breath.

Sylvanna's eyes widened, the ancient elf goddess halting mid-chant. Her lips parted slightly, then pressed into a pout so sharp it could wound. Her grip on her staff tightened until petals at its tip began to wilt.

Liana pulled back slowly, her smile widening as she brushed a thumb against Crow's cheek. "Mine," she whispered, loud enough for Sylvanna to hear.

Sylvanna turned away with a dramatic huff, her long silver-green hair whipping over her shoulder. She didn't speak, but the glowing vines now spiraling up her arms radiated silent fury.

Crow looked between them, sighing inwardly.

Primordial gods were powerful. But jealous ones?

Dangerous.
