Chapter One Hundred and Eighteen
Zephyra's violet eyes glowed faintly as she rose from her kneel. Without hesitation, she stepped closer—far closer than Crow expected. Her ethereal wings folded around them, forming a protective veil of shimmering twilight.
Then she clung to him.
Tightly.
"You summoned me," she said softly, her voice both commanding and strangely warm. "You are my chosen. I will not let others touch what belongs to me."
Crow blinked, caught slightly off guard. "...You're awfully forward."
She gave a faint smirk, resting her cheek against his chest. "I am the Twilight Warden. I don't waste time."
Not far away, Astraea, watching through a scrying mirror, felt her eye twitch. Lilith snarled in the shadows. Amara's spear cracked slightly under her tightening grip.
"Another one?" murmured Sasha, eyes narrowing.
Zephyra tilted her head up, staring into Crow's eyes. "My power is meant to balance destruction and order… but for you, I'll become your edge against the world."
Crow exhaled. "Then prove it. We move at dawn."
She smiled.
"I'll show them what it means to follow the Eternal Arbiter."
