Going back to the aftermath of the fight...
"The hell is this?"
Parquatz said as he went in. He looked at Ryu sleeping soundly while everyone else was working.
Don went to him, "His condition is not fit for work as of right now"
Parquatz looked at him as if he said something stupid, "He's a slave"
He brushed past Don and was about to go to Ryu before Pheo went in front of him.
"He can't" He held both of his arms up, "He's all beaten up"
"Is that so?" had an annoyed look on his face, "Lets just get rid of him right now then to save on food"
He grabbed his eraser from his pocket, but a hand reached out preventing him from pulling it out.
He followed it to see that it was Warhound grabbing him, he noticed how battered he looked.
"The kid's done work ten times the others, we can't get rid of him if we want this plan to go through fast"
"Tsk"
Parquatz shook Warhound's hand away. "If he's that good at his job then I'm sure he could do a regular kids' job just fine"
He brushed Pheo off and was about to slap Ryu wide awake, but felt someone's small hands try to stop him.
He looked back to see Pheo desperately trying to pull him away.
"Stop!" He shouted out, "Please he's just fought somebody, he isn't able to work right now!"
"Fight who?" Parquatz asked, "Nevermind, it doesn't matter" He tried to shake him off, but Pheo was persistent in stopping him.
"Get off!" Parquatz said as he punched Pheo in the face, making him fall to the ground.
He went to face Pheo, "Why the hell does your opinion matter?"
"You're a slave!" He shouted out at him, then looked at everyone watching.
"Every one of you little bastards are slaves. Not people, but PROPERTY!"
"What if I can double my work?" brushed off the blood that dripped from his mouth, "Will that work then?"
Parquatz looked at him, he laughed at the thought of a slave negotiating with their captor.
"You think doubling your work can do that?" He pointed to the tunnel that Ryu made.
It was long, something that not even a grown man in his prime can confidently say they could do.
Pheo's eyes suddenly steeled themselves, "Oh, I know I can do that"
"In fact, I'm sure I could do better than you" He tried going after Parquatz' pride, and it worked.
"Alright then, you get your terms IF you do double your share and do that sleeping kid's share"
"What?!?" Pheo shouted in confusion. Parquatz raised both of his hands up, "If you can do so much work, then why should you hold back?"
"Or do you want to do the work of four people instead?"
Pheo took a look at the hole Ryu made. It was something that he had to do eventually if he had to catch up to him.
"Fine!" Pheo shouted out, his face was full of anger that couldn't exhaust itself, and Parquatz loved it.
"It starts now by the way!" Parquatz shoved Warhound away, "Make sure I don't catch you slacking" he threatened Pheo as he went out, waving his hand lazily.
