Chapter 21 - Chapter 21: If Only He Were My Boyfriend

Kamisato Ayaka raised the umbrella in her hand slightly, revealing her fair and delicate face, and said with a smile, "I'm fine, it was just a sneeze. But Zeyan, you must be careful not to catch a cold."

Zeyan said seriously, "Miss Kamisato, you should pay more attention to your own condition. Your nose is even redder than last time."

Kamisato Ayaka subconsciously covered her nose with her other hand. "Eh? Is that so? Hmm... I understand, I'll take good care of myself. Zeyan doesn't need to worry about me either."

Since Kamisato Ayaka had said so, Zeyan didn't say much more. At a time like this, only a boyfriend or something could more confidently blame her for not taking care of her health, right?

Zeyan sighed inwardly.

Soon after, a towering cherry blossom tree appeared in front. After days of wind and rain, many petals on the cherry blossom tree had withered, and correspondingly, the ground looked as if it had been dyed pink with pink ink.

There were also residential houses around, and the sound of rain hitting the tiles was like the sound of pebbles falling. The waterwheel next to one of the houses had somehow gotten stuck and was no longer turning as usual.

Ahead were the steps leading to the inner part of Inazuma City. There were stone lanterns on both sides of the steps, but because of the days of wind and rain, the stone lanterns no longer lit up, and the scene looked rather dim.

"This is the outermost street of Inazuma City, called Hanamizaka," Kamisato Ayaka said as she held her umbrella and walked up the steps. "There's a fireworks shop here, opened by a friend of mine, Naganohara Yoimiya. Yoimiya is responsible for all the fireworks needed for the annual festivals in Inazuma. If she comes back, I'd like to introduce you."

"Is that it?" Zeyan saw the fireworks shop by the roadside.

Opposite this fireworks shop was a blacksmith's shop.

Kamisato Ayaka nodded and said, "Yes, besides Yoimiya, there are many other people I know. When they come back, I will introduce everyone to you in the future."

Zeyan didn't respond to this topic, feeling it was too heavy. After all, he didn't think the others could come back... at least not in this??.

Fortunately, Kamisato Ayaka didn't dwell on this issue and turned her gaze to the blacksmith's shop next door, saying, "Zeyan, I remember your Dull Blade was destroyed last time. There are many weapons in this blacksmith's shop. I think you can choose a suitable one, which will be convenient for practicing swordsmanship in the future. You were able to learn Kamisato Art: Senho just by observing, so you can't waste such talent."

Zeyan immediately became interested. "I'll go take a look."

There were many weapons in the blacksmith's shop. After Zeyan came over to observe, Kamisato Ayaka also came over and introduced them: "This is a Silver Sword, this is a Mercenary's Greatsword, and there are Iron Pointed Spear, Pocket Grimoire, and Recurve Bow."

Perhaps because he preferred swords, Zeyan's gaze first fell on the Silver Sword and the Mercenary's Greatsword. Compared to the Mercenary's Greatsword, which required both hands to wield properly, the light Silver Sword was more to Zeyan's liking.

So after trying it, Zeyan grabbed the Silver Sword and said, "I'll choose this sword."

Kamisato Ayaka smiled and said, "This is a sword made of silver alloy, it is indeed much better than the previous Dull Blade, it shouldn't break so easily anymore."

Zeyan was also very satisfied. He found a scabbard in the blacksmith's shop and fastened it to his waist, then inserted the Silver Sword into it, instantly giving him the aura of a samurai.

At this moment, he sniffed and said, "There seems to be a bad smell in the air."

Kamisato Ayaka pointed to a shop not far away and said, "That's called Kiminami Restaurant, a gourmet restaurant. Obviously, because people suddenly disappeared, the food was left there unattended, so it started to spoil after many days, emitting a bad smell."

Zeyan remembered that the two of them had come to Inazuma City to collect enough supplies, and couldn't help but ask, "Then is there any edible food left?"

Kamisato Ayaka headed towards that direction. "It should be difficult. Kiminami Restaurant usually sells things like street stew, which are not suitable for long-term storage. But perhaps there are still some raw ingredients left, we can take the ingredients away."

The two came to Kiminami Restaurant. With the shelter of the eaves, they put down their umbrellas and began to collect ingredients, packing them into bundles.

While packing, Kamisato Ayaka said, "Inazuma City is so big, we can't take all the collected supplies away at once. We can only pack them up here first and then come back a few more times to take them away gradually."

Zeyan agreed, "That's indeed a good method."

They packed up the ingredients from Kiminami Restaurant and placed them in a dry and stable place, waiting to be taken away in the future.

Then they picked up their umbrellas and walked out again.

Soon after, they saw a bookstore. Both of them went into the bookstore to take a look, but unfortunately, the books here were the same ones they had collected in Ritou, there were no new books.

"What a pity, are there only this many books? That's not enough to read," Zeyan sighed.

He felt that there would be a long period of life ahead, and the books he had seen so far were not enough to pass the time.

Turning around, Zeyan saw Kamisato Ayaka looking outside somewhat absentmindedly. He followed Kamisato Ayaka's gaze and saw a merchandise rack overturned by the wind and rain on the street. Hanging on it were fox masks, which had now fallen to the ground and were soaked by the rain.

At both ends of the merchandise rack hung teru teru bozu, paper-cut dolls prayed to for sunny weather during rainy days, but they had also fallen to the ground with the rack and were completely drenched by the rain.

Kamisato Ayaka walked over and tried to pick up a teru teru bozu, but the rain-soaked doll fell apart as soon as it was picked up, causing Kamisato Ayaka's delicate face to freeze.

She sighed softly and picked up a mask to look at.

Zeyan walked over and said, "These masks are usually used during festivals, right? Is a festival coming up soon?"

Kamisato Ayaka nodded. "Yes, that's truly a lively event that people long for."

Zeyan also picked up a mask and then asked, "Did Miss Kamisato participated in this festival before."

Hearing this, Kamisato Ayaka smiled embarrassedly, seeming to be pondering how to say it, and hesitated for a moment.

Not hearing a reply, Zeyan glanced at Kamisato Ayaka and, seeing the longing in her eyes, couldn't help but ask, "Miss Kamisato, you haven't actually participated in a festival before, have you?"

Kamisato Ayaka said apologetically, "Festivals... I haven't truly participated in one. Please don't laugh at me, but we people of the Yashiro Commission are the maintainers of all aspects of festival safety and order. Even if I appear at a festival, people wouldn't think I'm just there to participate. They'd assume I have some official business to handle, so it's difficult for me to blend into the festival."
