The sound of swords clashing rang out in the air, a piercing sound. One can feel the hatred in Bane's swing. Being cast out like trash as a child left a mark on the young swordsman. Hatred growing with every breath. His skill "skill negate" was deemed useless. Though one could argue in his line of work very useful, working as a bounty hunter Bane comes up on all types. With every clash of his sword he negates his opponents skills. Growing up on his own has left him with adaptability like no other in this accursed world. Even now in the heat of battle Bane is totally relaxed, the filth he is fighting is just any other local gang lacky.
The screams of battle ring out for no one to hear except for them. The screams grew louder, except it wasn't from Bane. They came from the now lacerated corpse, Bane uses a serrated sword to inflict as much pain to his prey. That's all his hits are, prey. He does this because he enjoys watching the suffering of those who caused him all of his.
Once the battle concludes Bane drags the body battle to Unmarked town leaving a trail of crimson blood in his wake. "Back already Bane?" questions Lana. "Umph" replied Bane. Out of everyone in this cruel world, Lana was the only one to treat Bane like a human being. She is the whole reason he has any semblance of humanity left. Without her, his world would only be death, she breathes light into his cold dark world. "Any new jobs as of late" questioned Bane. "Nothing, but don't worry too much. I'm sure something will come in soon" replied Lana. "Tell you what Bane, dinners on me tonight!" stated Lana. The night passes uneventfully.
A bone rattling scream pierced the midnight air. Bane went running to the scene of the scream. To his absolute horror, he found the cold, tattered, lifeless corpse of Lana. His only light in life is gone. When he looked up the grunt who did the awful deed was still in the room. Bane let out an inhuman roar, shedding his humanity for rage, hatred. He unsheathed his sword and cut the hands off of the grunt in one sudden swing. Suddenly Bane was surrounded by people, poachers, fellow bounty hunters. They knew Lana was his only weakness in his impenetrable mental armor. They thought this mental anguish would cause him to break, making him an easy bounty. They were dead wrong.
In a blinding swiftness he swung his massive serrated sword. Ripping the flesh off of his opponents. As he took them out more just kept coming. From every corner, doors, windows, all over. They started to overwhelm the young warrior, just as it was looking grim for Bane it snapped. His sword started glowing an icy blue, emitting a cold aura that pierced the souls of the bounty hunters. "This aura from his sword, could it be" exclaimed Theon the bounties resident healer. "There's not a chance, those swords were lost. Thought to be destroyed long ago." exclaimed Leon the bounty parties leader. "That's one of the blades of Micke, there is no way." stuttered Theon. This boost was just what Bane needed to take back control of the fight. Upon seeing this the lower tier skill lackeys tried to run. In a sudden burst of speed Bane went after the runners. Striking them down in a single devastating blow. Blood and flesh flying, sticking to the walls. Bane was truly painting the guild building red. As Bane slashed, lacerated his enemies he felt his stamina drain in an inhuman rate, he knew he needed to finish the fight now. In one truly remarkable moment, Bane threw the sword. It cut down all the enemies but one, Theon. Like a boomerang the sword returned to Bane's hand. See, keeping Theon alive was a two-fold choice. Bane needed answers on who put out the hit, who caused him this great suffering. He also knew in his epic quest for revenge he would definitely need a healer. Theon wasn't a truly bad person and Bane knew this because of previous work they had done together.
Theon was truly surprised to be left alive after Bane's epic attack. Theon could never truly understand Bane like Lana could, no one could. He couldn't see what possible reason Bane would have to leave him alive. He contributed to the death of Lana. He didn't directly kill Lana, he couldn't. Just like Bane but maybe not as intensely he cared for Lana. He regretted his participation in the event that led to her death. He wanted, no he needed to atone.
"Bane, how? How can I atone for what I've done?" asked Theon. "It's simple, help me kill whoever put up the bounty." remarked Bane. "Tell me, who hired your group?" asked Bane. "I swear I don't know. The request came in anonymously. I do know that it came in from the guild in Angross town, on the border of New Germany." replied Theon. "Grab what you need, we head out in 20 minutes then" exclaimed Bane.
The road ahead to Angross will be a long one. The road is full of low life's and bandits. People who like Bane were cast out, not because of their skill but because their characters didn't fit in with society. 20 minutes have passed and Bane and Theon begin their quest for revenge. It will be full of hardship, blood, and sweat. It is not a quest for the faint of heart.
About 36.7 miles outside of Unmarked town is when trouble first struck. Arrows came raining out of the sky, causing Bane and Theon to come to an abrupt halt. A group of bandits blocks the road for Bane and Theon to pass. "Well well well, if it isn't the Serrated Swordsman Bane!" exclaimed one of the bandits. "What do you want?" shouted Theon. "I mean isn't it obvious, we are bandits after all!" said an unseen bandit. This bandit bore a striking resemblance to Bane, young tan skinned, with short black hair. The only differences between the two is Bane is full of muscle from many years of intense training and salt and pepper hair from the stress that came with the years of training. "My name is Alrond, leader of these hear bandits, and if you don't hand over all your coin you'll leave us no choice but to kill you." exclaimed Alrond. "Hmph, we have no coin, no reason to have it." said Bane in a serious tone. "I'll always accept your sword as equal payment. A sword of Micke will fetch quite a price on the black market." said Alrond. "How did you know this was a blade of Micke, Bane didn't even know until last night." exclaimed Theon. "I know all about the blades of Micke, I even know where about the remaining two blades lie." said Alrond. "If you're not willing to give me your sword Bane, then prepare to die! Archers fire!" shouted Alrond. Hearing this Bane grabbed the nearest bandit and held him up as a shield. "Seeing how outnumbered we are, now might be a great time to activate that sword!" shouted Theon to Bane. "NO! It draws too much energy, causes too much stress on the body." explained Bane. This fight will be skill on skill, sword on sword. As the bandits started charging up their long distance skill Bane quickly used his skill "skill negate". Essentially how this skill works is any skill in a given distance to Bane is negated.
Still having the bandit as a shield Bane proceeded to prioritize the close up bandits. One came charging with his swords in hand. Bane swiftly turned causing the bandit to impale Bane's bandit shield. Bane threw down the bandit causing the other to lose his sword. Then with a swing as fast as lightning the other bandits head was rolling on the ground like a dropped melon. Bane proceeded to pick up the headless corpse of the archers' barrage of arrows. After bearing witness to what Bane did to the one bandit the other bandits decide they can take on Bane, they can be the one to kill the Serrated Swordsman. They charged at Bane all out once and just as quick Bane swung his sword. Arms, legs, and heads came piling to the ground. In an act of cowardice and desperation Alrond turned and ran back the direction he came. Seeing this his own archers turned and took aim at him. Right before the moment of release of their arrows, new arrows went whistling by and bam, Theon had taken the archers down with his own bow. In a few short moments the battle has concluded. "What do you want to do about Alrond?" asked Theon. "Just leave him, he'll probably die to the elements on his own." proclaimed Bane. "Hey why didn't any of the bandits attempt to use their skills before you put up your own?" questioned Theon. "Hmm, I've found that bandits and other scum like that have skills more suited for the workforce, not combat. They are too lazy for the workforce so they make their living off of the misery and harm of others. So using their skills like in this scenario would've just been useless. Only higher bandits have actual combat suited skills." responded Bane. Just as quickly as they were stopped, they started back down the long path to Angross town.
