Lin Yu gazed at the system's modified page, studying the details of Ye Xin's awakening. After a moment of thought, he turned to the system and asked, "Xiao Shu, do you know what ability she's going to awaken?"
As soon as the words left his mouth, the system page shifted, and the options for Ye Xin's superpower awakening expanded in an endless list.

Lin Yu stared at the lengthy list, scrolling for what felt like an eternity, lost in the maze of possibilities. He felt the weight of the decision.
"I can't exactly ask Xiaoxin herself, can I?"
he mused.
His gaze wandered back to the desktop of his computer. He hadn't touched it since the morning when he pressed the power button. The screen saver had kicked in, and the pictures began to play automatically.
The image that filled the screen caught Lin Yu's attention: a girl in a Japanese school uniform, her right hand outstretched, holding a coin between her thumb and forefinger, releasing it with a flick. Blue arcs of electricity crackled around her, her body bathed in lightning.
"Hey…" Lin Yu's lips curled up into a wry smile, and with a flick of his fingers, he began adjusting the system page.
In a matter of moments, the probability of Ye Xin awakening the thunderbolt ability on the system page became 100%. It was fitting, he thought, that the lightning strike would be the catalyst for such an awakening.
After modifying the data, Lin Yu sat back, still somewhat dazed by the absurdity of it all. Could Ye Xin really save herself from danger like this?
"Maybe I should follow her?" Lin Yu pondered, a twinge of unease gnawing at him. Without another thought, he rose from the sofa, speaking under his breath, "The dimension is raised to the fourth dimension!"
With those words, his figure vanished from the third dimension, reappearing in the fourth. All around him unfolded anew, reality bending as Lin Yu's perception sharpened. In the fourth dimension, he could see everything with perfect clarity. His gaze fixed on Ye Xin, who was walking toward her school.
Her university was nearby, just a ten-minute walk from the apartment building where Lin Yu lived.
The sun shone down, causing Ye Xin to pull out a folding umbrella from her backpack and open it.
From the balcony of a nearby building, Lin Yu observed. Entering the fourth dimension and then descending into the third gave him an effect akin to teleportation—but far superior in power.
His eyes remained on Ye Xin as she moved, unaware of his presence. But then, suddenly, a voice from behind startled him.
"Who's there?"
Lin Yu's heart leaped in his chest. In a panic, he entered the fourth dimension again, disappearing in the blink of an eye.
"Strange… was that a hallucination?" a neutral voice murmured from behind him. A woman in a suit stepped out onto the balcony, her eyes scanning the area.
"Honey, what's wrong?" a sweet, feminine voice called out. A girl with a cheerful expression hugged the suited woman from behind.
"It's nothing," the woman replied, shaking her head. "I just thought I saw a shadow. Probably just my imagination."
"Maybe you've been stressed out. Want me to help you unwind?" The sweet girl purred.
"Maybe." The woman chuckled, still lost in her thoughts, as she turned back inside with the girl on her back.
Lin Yu, slightly shaken by the encounter, appeared on the roof of a large supermarket. He patted his chest in relief. "I was scared half to death… but this scene is...ah, no need to look too deeply into it."
Walking to the edge of the roof, he gazed down at Ye Xin, who was now walking down the street toward her school. The supermarket was far enough that Lin Yu could wait for her there, his attention fixed on her every movement.
He watched as she entered the university, then followed her, his eyes never leaving her figure. She moved through the campus with a calm grace, entering one building, then another. Lin Yu passed the time, reading a novel on his phone, occasionally glancing up to check her location.
Time seemed to slip away unnoticed. Minutes passed, and soon Ye Xin emerged from the building. Lin Yu put his phone away and refocused, watching her leave the school and walk toward the gates.
At that moment, Lin Yu noticed something—thunder rumbled in the sky, and he felt a sense of impending change. Ye Xin was about to be struck by lightning.
He entered the fourth dimension again, narrowing his focus on her. Though part of him wanted to intervene, he also understood that this event was necessary for her awakening.
The idea of possessing power beyond ordinary limits unsettled him slightly. "It's strange," he thought. "To gain such power... it feels unreal, like I'm detached from my own reality."
But deep down, he knew that this was different for Ye Xin. Unlike him, she wasn't raised in an orphanage—she had family, ties to the world. She wasn't seeking escape into another dimension or adventure in distant lands.
As Ye Xin walked, the first flash of lightning streaked across the sky.
"Boom! Crack!"
The bolt struck Ye Xin directly, arcs of electricity crackling over her body. She collapsed in an instant, her body writhing under the charge. But in that moment, a miraculous transformation began.
Lin Yu, standing in the fourth dimension, watched with awe. He could see the shifts happening at a molecular level, each tiny particle in Ye Xin's body undergoing a profound change. Though he didn't fully understand it, the significance of the moment wasn't lost on him.
At the same time, the system's voice appeared in his mind:
[ Thunderbolt Ability Awakened Successfully. ]
Ye Xin lay on the ground, lifeless to the onlookers. Concerned voices murmured from the crowd.
"She's been struck by lightning!"
"Such a beautiful girl… it's tragic…"
"I think she's still breathing. She should be okay."
A kind-hearted aunt crouched beside Ye Xin, checking for signs of life. She pinched Ye Xin gently, but when there was no response, the aunt set her back down, placing her school bag under her head as a cushion.
"We should call an ambulance," the aunt said, pulling out her phone.
But before the call could go through, Ye Xin's body shifted. She sprang upright, as if jolted by the power itself.
"Huh? Why am I on the ground?" Ye Xin murmured, blinking as she tried to piece together what had happened.
"Little girl, you were struck by lightning just now. How do you feel? Should I call an ambulance?" the aunt asked, concern lacing her voice.
"Struck by lightning?" Ye Xin blinked again, completely unfazed. "I feel fine! No discomfort at all."
With that, she stood up, as though nothing unusual had happened. In fact, she felt stronger, more alive than ever before.
"Thank you, big sister," Ye Xin said with a shy smile before hurrying away.
Embarrassment flushed her cheeks as she dashed off, eager to escape the unwanted attention.
As the crowd dispersed, Lin Yu, ever the silent observer, followed Ye Xin. But before he left, he decided to alter the fate of the kind aunt who had helped her. He boosted her luck for the coming month, ensuring that good things would come her way.
His thoughts returned to Ye Xin as she reached the entrance to her apartment. "Huh? The door's not opening…"
Despite having hurried back, Ye Xin wasn't even out of breath. She was puzzled for a moment before realizing, "Oh, right. The lightning probably degaussed my card…"
She took out her phone in frustration. It was also damaged, thanks to the strike.
However, she was oddly calm. "I'm lucky nothing worse happened. If I'd brought my wallet, my bank cards might have been ruined."
Eventually, an elderly
man opened the door to leave, allowing Ye Xin to slip inside. She returned to her apartment, unaware of the extraordinary change within her.

Back in his own apartment, Lin Yu collapsed on the sofa, exhaling deeply. After a moment, he began to clean the cluttered space.
"It's always inconvenient jumping between dimensions," he muttered, dusting off his desk. "If only I could become invisible, or fly, or something cool like that…"
He paused mid-cleaning, a thought striking him. "Xiao Shu, can I modify the probability for myself and awaken other superpowers?"
The system's response was immediate.
[ Of course. ]
"Any prerequisites?" Lin Yu pressed, eager to know more.
[ No. You can change any random probability event into an inevitable one. No prerequisites required. ]
[ The host may also use an incident as a medium, like Ye Xin's lightning strike, to alter the outcome. However, you can also directly modify your probabilities and awaken any ability, within one Planck time, after the modification. ]
A grin spread across Lin Yu's face. "So, even if Ye Xin wasn't struck by lightning, I could still make her awaken her power?" His voice was filled with amusement.
[ Yes. ] The system's response was flat, as though it had grown used to Lin Yu's questions.
"Why didn't you say that sooner?" Lin Yu chuckled, the realization dawning on him. "Poor Xiaoxin, all for nothing."
[ You didn't ask. ] The system replied, completely deadpan.
