Chapter 6 - Chapter 6- Adventure guild (3)

After going in the direction the records said they last saw the creature for four straight hours. He saw some signs of them nearby and visible traces of blood and meat.

Sign that they were here not too long ago.

The shopkeeper said they were seven of the beasts and there are at the third stage unlike me at the fifth stage. .

I should be enough if I am very careful'.Mitchell thought carefully to himself. He was a very calculative person and used his head for everything so he would do the same this time.

He took off in the direction of the scent running at full speed, his qi seemed to have replenished but he didn't use all. Saving some for in case the battle went sideways.

When he got there to the part of the forest where the tree bad canopies, he saw a small blood pool and pieces of flesh of some poor creature the monster beast had already killed.

'If I were a monster beast and eaten to my fill a full course meal what would I do afterwards.' He thought to himself and got the answer eventually.

When he got closer, he saw the monster beast and they amounted more than ten. 'Crap, didn't he say there were seven. How are they twelve'.

But that didn't make a difference. Out of the twelve, two were keeping watch while the remaining ten were resting.

'Well it couldn't have gone better. They are resting so their guard is down. If I can kill those two first, I can easily kill the rest'. With him making up his plan, he dashed at his fastest speed, hoping to kill them both before they had time to sound an alarm.

The monster beasts were not expecting to be attacked, so they were slow when he moved. By the time they had both woken up from their stupor, Mitchell had already taken off the head of the first monster beast clean off its shoulders. Blood splattered everywhere as rve purple sword cut through its neck like butter. 'So Sharp'.

The other monster beast sounded the alarm after the fall of its companion. Mitchell had just readied his blade to attack the other beast when ten more surrounded him. They snarled at him and jumped on him immediately.

Mitchell had no time to think and instinct took over for him, making him safely sidestep the claw that would have clawed his guts out. He stabbed his sword in the nearest beast and found that the scale on its back were as hard as rock, making it difficult for him to cut through.

'Why are they so tough. I killed the first beast with much ease'. He frowned and dodged a tail swipe.

He tried again but the result was the same. 'It seems their necks are their weak points'.

With that knowledge, he knew where to attack and where to avoid. He would only attack when he had access to the neck.

One of the monter beast ran closer to him in a bid to slash with its short claws but that brought an opportunity to Mitchell who didn't hesitate to slash the neck with everything he had.

Making the beast fall on the ground convulsing due to lack of blood but he ignored that and attack the next beasts.

With one more beast killed, the pressure was reduced and he now saw more opportunities and more chances of dodging rather than tanking the attack.

Very another one fell and before long, they all dropped dead. Mitchell sat down on the ground while panting heavily. He was out of breath and did nothing else but lie on the ground and groan in pain from his aches and bruises.

"Am hurting everywhere". He said with a low groan and lay on his back. He had several cuts and wounds after just this one battle and he had forgotten the number of times he had coughed out blood from his mouth.

'I hope you're not planning on staying there for a long time,Lord Fate because scavengers are already eyeing your kill.' Jack said.

When he looked up, he saw several large vultures circling around. He knew his recent kill would attract attention but he didn't think it would be this fast and this much in such little time.

He got up despite his wounds and made to dig out the monster cores before his kill brought more scavengers to feast. He was only here for their tails and cores anyways. He had no idea if their flesh was edible or not.
