The City Apartments, 44th floor.
Outside, the city lights were just coming on, and the stars twinkled brightly, yet inside, the room was shrouded in darkness. The oppressive blackness made it hard to breathe. Occasionally, a white flash illuminated the room, the reflection of a TV screen dancing on the walls.
Ye Feimo sat in front of the television, pressing the remote continuously. He didn't know what he wanted to watch; he just pressed the buttons with a blank expression.
He changed channels so quickly that he'd switch before any sound even registered.
The light refracted from the television cast a hazy paleness over his face. Ye Feimo intently watched the screen, gradually slowing down his channel-surfing. He still kept pressing, but this time, he waited for sound before changing the channel.
Inside the room, apart from the television's noise, there was no other sound.
