Velessia's wings glimmered once before she spoke. "Something's… bleeding through."

They reached it just before noon.
The Shardscar—a vast canyon torn from the world like a wound left by a falling god. It hadn't been there the day before. And now, the sky above it cracked like shattered glass, refracting crimson light in hexagonal patterns.
The air warped.

Kaien's fingers twitched over his sword hilt. "Please tell me it's not what I think it is."
A voice echoed from inside the canyon—low, steady, too clear to be wind.

A figure stepped forward from the fractured veil of the canyon.
Wearing obsidian half-armor etched with dying runes. A single sword sheathed across his back, wrapped in chains made of light. His eyes were faded silver, ancient—and empty.
He looked at Adexander.
