You could call them stupid—they were capable of manufacturing such high-tech warships and deploying such powerful formations. But if you wanted to call them smart, then after fighting for thousands of years, how could they not know how to change their combat methods? Was forming formations really the only way they knew how to fight?
Looking at the situation, Blaine suddenly realized that there might actually be a business opportunity here. He wondered whether Sun Tzu's 'The Art of War' and the Thirty-Six Stratagems, could sell for a good price in the universe.
Although the ancestors also said that one trick could dominate the world, it clearly wasn't meant for real warfare. If you didn't know how to adapt, weren't you simply waiting to be eliminated?
In the sky, Ronan's battleship fortress also ceased firing its energy cannons.
If Blaine's guess was correct, releasing such powerful energy blasts must consume an enormous amount of energy. Ronan likely didn't have enough reserves to continue firing at that moment.
But it was enough. By disrupting Xandar's formation, Ronan had already achieved his goal.
Inside the battleship fortress, Ronan's face remained gloomy, showing no joy at all despite having broken through the enemy's defenses.
On the contrary, Ronan's rage grew more intense. He wanted to slaughter Xandar in blood to satisfy his twisted and perverted heart. At the same time, the Cosmic Orb, Quill, the space pirates, Blaine—everything—had been added to his hunting list.
Seeing Xandar's warships panic and attempt to reconstruct the golden net once again, how could Ronan allow them to succeed? Even without orders, his subordinates already knew what to do.
The hatch of the battleship fortress opened, and black warships flew out one after another. Like locusts blotting out the land, there were simply too many of them—far too many.
The two swarming forces immediately clashed in the vacuum of space. The scene was no less spectacular than the special effects Blaine had seen on television.
Gunfire roared, lasers shot in every direction. As the battle began, the shrill screech of laser fire echoed endlessly, and explosions sounded every second. The entire stretch of interstellar space looked like a massive firework display, dazzling and colorful.
So this was what Star Wars looked like. For someone who had lived in the shadows, Blaine found it truly addictive to watch.
Watching was one thing, but not only Blaine—almost everyone on the entire Xandar planet must have realized their disadvantage. If nothing changed, their fleet would be completely shot down in less than an hour, perhaps even forty-five minutes.
Judging from the current battle situation, Xandar's warships were being destroyed one after another. For the time being, they could only retreat, with no room at all to mount an attack.
Finally, several of Ronan's leading warships had already broken through and descended toward the surface of Xandar. They were intercepted and destroyed by ground-based defenses, but this alone showed how close the Kree's fleet had come to the planet's surface.
The Kree soldiers aboard those warships did not die from explosions, as there were none. Instead, they disembarked and occupied the ground.
"EEE—"
Unfortunately for them, they landed near Yondu's pirate ship. In an instant, the entire group of Kree soldiers was wiped out.
"Uh… does this count as falling into a trap?"
There was no helping it—Blaine even felt a surge of experience points.
The laser battle at dawn continued unabated. More and more Kree soldiers began landing on Xandar. Once one appeared, more inevitably followed, and soon dozens of warships had reached the ground.
At that moment, a large group of Xandar soldiers advanced on Yondu with their weapons raised. As space pirates who had already engaged them, Yondu's crew were now unquestionably enemies as well.
Noticing the situation, Blaine immediately focused his gaze on Yondu. He was quite interested in this famous Ravager.
Relying on the invincibility of the Yaka Arrow, Yondu had been labeled a high level Ravager by the major space pirate organizations.
Heroes had always drawn attention throughout history—especially Blaine. Today, he wanted to see just how brave Yondu really was.
As the Kree soldiers closed in step by step, Yondu remained completely unhurried. He stared at them calmly, without making any other move, as if daring them to strike first. Blaine couldn't help worrying for him. If it were Blaine, he would have already killed them all. If you're going to fight, then fight—why bother putting on airs?
Finally, Yondu moved. Or rather, his hand did—his body remained perfectly still.
From his side, Yondu drew out an arrow over ten feet long. Blaine finally saw the legendary Yaka Arrow.
The arrow was dark gray overall, with a red tip, its entire body forged from metal. In Yondu's hand, it looked ordinary, nothing particularly remarkable.
Just as the nearest Kree soldier raised his alien weapon to fire, a sharp whistle suddenly rang out.
The seemingly ordinary arrow came alive in that instant, shooting forward with the sound of the whistle. At that speed, the naked eye could only catch a flash of red light.
Guided by Yondu's calm whistling, the Yaka Arrow tore through the air, weaving back and forth through the enemies' chests. The red light became like the scythe of death, harvesting lives without pause. Like a butterfly dancing to music—except this was a butterfly of blood.
The whistle stopped. Yondu raised his hand and casually caught the arrow as it flew back toward him.
The enemies' expressions froze for a brief second, their movements halting completely.
Plop, plop, plop, plop, plop…
In the blink of an eye, dozens of corpses collapsed to the ground.
"Hm, kind of interesting."
More than interesting—it was far more handsome than the way Blaine fought. With just his lips and a casual glance around, no one could stop him. A cloud-piercing arrow, traveling thousands of miles to strike—clean, decisive, and incredibly stylish.
"It's a pity they're just ordinary Kree soldiers,"
"I wonder what would happen if it hit Captain America's vibranium shield?"
Everything had happened far too quickly. Before Blaine could fully grasp the principle behind it, the battle was already over. Yondu hadn't given Blaine any chance to copy the ability with his Copy Eyes—not even a moment to compare.
Since it couldn't be copied, Blaine quickly lost interest. He turned his head and continued watching the battle in the sky, where the "fireworks" were far more magnificent than Yondu's brief skirmish.
Still, even though he failed to copy it, Blaine had more or less figured out how the Yaka Arrow worked.
It likely functioned similarly to Blaine's Absolute Hit—requiring the user to perceive the target in order to strike it accurately.
