Chapter 129 - Chapter 130: Sentinels Raid Hydra Base

Chapter 130: Sentinels Raid Hydra Base

Squish.

A blade pierced Deadpool's body.

"You could at least say hi before stabbing me."

Wade glared at the long gash on his stomach, grumbling in protest.

"Okay then—Shame Beam of Failure."

With a raise of his hand, Allen cast Light of Healing to patch him up.

While Wade's regeneration was impressive, natural healing still took time—skills were much faster.

Snap!

A crisp snap of fingers.

An angel appeared.

Boom!

Young Ellie charged forward in a burst of energy, instantly phasing through and dispersing the angel into shimmering white light.

Allen cast Guardian's Embrace, Light's Aegis, and Holy Flame Empowerment on Ellie, Pietro, Illyana, and Yukio, enhancing them with support skills.

He then walked straight up to Kurt and asked, "Hey, Blue Smurf, did you ever talk to that girl from last time?"

"I…"

Kurt's expression dimmed instantly.

"Tch… not even qualified to be called a simp," Allen sneered.

"…"

Such a brutal remark made Kurt lower his head, looking like he was about to burst into tears.

"Boob Shame Beam!"

Allen fired off another wave of Light of Healing, cleansing Kurt's sorrow.

Kurt's downcast expression suddenly lit up with cheer.

"I'll give you five minutes to recover."

Allen turned away, murder knife in hand, and headed for Wade again.

"Wait, I'm not ready—"

Squish!

Another stab to the waist. Wade shouted, furious, "Could you pick a different spot?! I think you just sliced my kidney in half!"

Squish!

"Drama Queen Mode—Shame Beam of Failure!"

Allen pulled out the blade and healed Wade once more, snapping his fingers to summon another angel.

From the portal stepped a dazzling angel with cascading golden hair, clad in a revealing white-gold battle outfit, wielding a golden spear like a Valkyrie ready for war.

"Too much fan service."

Slash!

Before Allen could say a word, Illyana had already acted—Soulsword flashing, she obliterated the angel in one strike.

"Women's jealousy is terrifying."

Allen didn't even get a proper look at the angel's beauty. It was the first female angel he'd summoned—he had been quite curious.

"Got a problem with that?" Illyana shot him a sideways glare.

"Nope. As far as I'm concerned, every other woman is dirt compared to you."

As soon as he said it, a chill ran down his spine. He turned to see Ellie and Yukio glaring daggers at him.

"What are you looking at? You two don't even count as women."

Allen fluttered his fingers daintily. "We're all girls here. Let's stay united, sisters."

Like hell anyone's your "sister."

Have you developed gender confusion?

Pffft! Pietro cracked up, unable to help himself. Allen's act was simply too ridiculous.

"What are you laughing at, premature silver fox? You still can't face your dad after all this time." Allen shot back mercilessly.

Pietro's smile vanished, replaced by a scowl—anger brewing.

"Boob Shame Beam!"

A wash of Light of Healing lifted Pietro's gloom.

The five-minute immunity to negative effects from the skill was almost up.

Allen turned to Kurt again. "Wanna play rock-paper-scissors?"

He looked deliberately at Kurt's hands. "Oh, right—you've only got three fingers. No way you can throw paper."

"Waaah…"

Kurt had had enough. He started crying, devastated.

After days of data analysis, Skynet had finally calculated the mutants' hiding place.

"There's still a Hydra organization? And they're working with mutants? Definitely a social destabilizing threat."

Coordinates and large volumes of data filled the display.

The five high-ranking officials were visibly shaken.

Hydra was supposedly dismantled during WWII—yet it had been secretly reborn and grown in strength on home soil.

Trask seized the moment to fan the flames. "I have reason to believe mutants have been collaborating with Hydra for a long time, infiltrating national institutions."

"Very possible. All the more reason to eliminate them once and for all."

"Exactly. We must purge Hydra. These maniacs almost bombed our homeland. There's nothing they wouldn't do."

"If we succeed in wiping them out, the political leverage we gain will be massive."

"…"

The five officials spoke freely in front of Trask, viewing him merely as a puppet capitalist whose company they had heavily invested in.

In truth, Trask held them in contempt. He was long accustomed to the two-faced nature of politicians.

But for now, he had to play along to secure more funding.

Trask Industries alone couldn't mass-produce Sentinels—not with current constraints.

Each Sentinel cost ten million dollars. Many essential materials were tightly regulated imports. To scale production, government support was essential.

The last deployed Sentinel squad alone cost a billion dollars—far beyond the reach of any private enterprise.

So, using "borrowed chickens to lay golden eggs," Trask pushed for large-scale Sentinel deployment.

"How many Sentinels are ready?" one of the officials asked.

Trask pulled up warehouse footage. "Three hundred units are on standby for immediate deployment."

"Launch the assault on Hydra Base at once."

In a remote mountainous region of jagged rock formations—

A metal gate, camouflaged as natural rock, slid open. Rectangular transport aircraft departed, loaded with Sentinels.

Inside the Hydra base now under mutant control—

The human staff had already been relocated. Given their distrust of humanity, mutants left nothing to chance.

[Warning. Unknown targets approaching!]

[Warning. Unknown targets approaching!]

[Warning. Unknown targets approaching!]

The alerts startled everyone from rest.

In the command hub, Beast saw other bases under attack.

Charles immediately contacted Apocalypse, requesting help to rescue the students in those other locations.

With multiple bases under siege, the already short-staffed mutant elite found themselves overwhelmed.

Ironically, their own base wasn't hit first.

Boom!

The first floor of the base was blown open.

Sentinels poured in through the breach.

Fighting erupted on every level.

"Oh yeah, time to grind some XP."

Allen charged toward the Sentinels with his butcher knife gleaming.

In a corridor, three Sentinels were patrolling—just in time to run into him.

"Target acquired. T-800 initiating annihilation protocol. Ka-ka-ka…"

The Sentinels hesitated for a beat—Allen was mimicking a stuttering robot walk.

He scanned them dramatically and spoke in a digitized monotone: "Model not found in database. Beep-boop-beep—reporting anomaly to central processor."

What the hell is wrong with this guy?

Why the hell is he pretending to be a robot?

One Sentinel's face glowed as it began charging a high-intensity heat beam—ready to vaporize him.

Allen was now marked by Trask as a kill-on-sight target.

Boom!

The beam hit Allen—only for a white flash to shield him.

Just in time, Guardian's Embrace had blocked the lethal strike.

Allen looked stunned.

"That almost killed me… you trying to end the story early?!"

He slashed.

A flash of his blade.

One hit—Sentinel down.

"Come get me, hehehe…"

With a cackle, Allen turned and bolted.

Sentinels were adapting and closing their vulnerabilities—it wouldn't be long before they stopped giving out free XP.

Right now, Allen's strength was about 33 times that of an average human—lifting up to four tons max. Going toe-to-toe was suicide.

Stealth ambushes were out too. No way these things didn't have thermal imaging.

They'd spent all that money—why would they skimp on sensors?

As he ran, the path ahead ended in a dead-end.

Now four Sentinels were on his tail.

Suddenly, Allen grinned.

Snap!

He summoned five angels.

He buffed them with Guardian's Embrace, Light's Aegis, and Holy Flame Empowerment.

One Seraph raised her staff and cast a blessing of light on the other four angels.

As the four Sentinels closed in, the angels engaged them with swords—but were quickly pushed back.

"Crouch."

Allen ordered the Seraph to kneel.

He stepped on her shoulder and flipped over the Sentinels.

Mid-air, his butcher knife shimmered with shadow energy—slicing through a Sentinel's head like tofu.

Don't forget—his Rogue skill Shadow Blade doubles damage output.

One down.

Allen struck at the others.

With the Sentinels distracted, they couldn't block.

His blade carved through metal with practiced ease.

"I really am a cold-blooded killer."

Kneeling, Allen sheathed his blade slowly.

After a dramatic pause, he looked up.

"…Crap. No one saw that."

He waved his hand, calling his angels over.

"Come, my divine companions. We shall redeem the fallen lambs of the world… and roast them whole."

Meanwhile, the base was being evacuated.

Until an effective anti-Sentinel weapon was developed, no one wanted to trade lives for a pyrrhic victory.

Especially since Sentinels kept coming—and mutants only had one life.

Right now, teleporters like Nightcrawler and Mystique were essential.

Kurt could teleport groups to places he'd seen before.

Mystique's teleportation was less stable, but still accurate enough to evacuate to nearby safe zones.

There were only a few dozen elite mutants here—soon, the base was nearly empty.

"Has anyone seen Allen?" Illyana asked others in a different base.

Everyone looked at each other and shook their heads.

They were too busy running to worry about some lunatic's survival.

"I'll go back and get him," Illyana said, frustrated.

Ellie stopped her. "The base is crawling with Sentinels—you can't take that risk."

"She's right," Yukio agreed. "Sentinels don't kill humans. Allen will be fine."

Illyana recalled Allen slaughtering Sentinels back at school and calmed down.

"Wait, there's a comm channel between bases. If Allen's safe, he'll send a message." Colossus reminded them.

No one dared touch the base equipment—afraid the signal might draw Sentinels to them.

Meanwhile, Jean Grey remained at the student shelter base.

As she awaited Apocalypse and Charles's arrival—

A horrific sight came into view…
