"She is finally awake!" Devlin beamed in delight as he entered the room. They were in the middle of a meeting when his Alpha suddenly stormed out midway, forcing him to rush behind him.
"Why are you here?" Alicent asked as they moved closer. Meanwhile, Celestia sighed, glaring at her brother. She had informed him through mind-link, knowing Ezaar was impatiently waiting for his mate to wake up. She also had warned him not to show up since Evangeline seemed to hate him even more, but he clearly ignored it.
Evangeline got up and instinctively moved back, her body trembling with fear. She looked at the two men scanning her; they reminded her of Darkin from the woods, the way it almost killed her.
Ezaar took another step forward, and Evangeline quickly moved back, her shoulders shuddering like a fragile lamb. His wolf stirred within, nitpicking at his restraint. Stop it! She's afraid of you.
"As if I care," Ezaar muttered in frustration.
