The entire capital trembled. A terrifying shockwave rolled outward, sweeping through the horizon like the roar of an angry god.
From high above, what was once a glittering, futuristic city now lay in ruins. Buildings had crumbled into dust, streets had split open, and at the city's heart yawned a massive crater stretching hundreds of meters wide. Flames flickered from the wreckage, painting the sky a deep, tragic red.
On the orbiting command vessel Queen, the Nova Centurions stared at the devastation below. Their faces were heavy with grief and disbelief.
Even so, no one dared to speak a word of complaint. After all, this battle wasn't between mortals—it was a clash of gods. Whether it was Thanos, the Mad Titan, or Bella, the mysterious woman of unimaginable power, their blows could shatter worlds.
To question them would be madness.
Queen Chaida stood at the center of the bridge, her eyes locked on the swirling chaos below. Her expression remained calm, but her voice carried a trace of awe.
"This mysterious woman... she bears the bloodline of Blue Star. But if she can restrain Thanos, then perhaps her arrival is a blessing. Still... I fear the others."
Her aide turned to her, anxious. "Your Majesty—are you referring to the five generals under Thanos?"
The Queen nodded. "Yes. Thanos is ruthless and unpredictable. His strength alone rivals hers, but it's not the strength that worries me—it's the cunning of Ebony Maw and his companions. The Holy Place II is armed with star-class weapons. If they fire upon Qaidar... we might not withstand the assault."
Her gaze shifted upward, through the storm of black clouds. Even from here, she seemed to see the shadow of Thanos's fleet beyond the planet's atmosphere.
Behind her, the holographic display shimmered to life, showing the crowded expanse of the Qaidar star system. Countless dots of light marked the 907 ships of Thanos's armada, with the massive mothership Holy Place II dominating the formation like a dark, twin-winged serpent.
The officers standing beside her exchanged uneasy glances. Both the Queen and the Holy Place II were mothership-class vessels—equal in scale, perhaps, but not in power.
Thanos's technology far outstripped Qaidar's.
If he were to deploy his star-killing weapon, even the Queen might withstand it—but the planet itself would not.
That could not be allowed.
Queen Chaida drew a deep breath and gave her command. "All Nova Corps units—except those assigned to civilian evacuation—prepare for full deployment. Initiate planetary evacuation protocols immediately."
"Yes, Your Majesty!"
Moments later, the skies of Qaidar blazed with motion.
Tens of thousands of warships lifted off, following the Queen into orbit. The planet's atmosphere rippled as the fleets broke through, streaking toward the outer rim of the system to intercept the enemy.
If Thanos turned his firepower toward Qaidar, the Nova Corps would stand in his way.
Fortunately, the Queen had prepared for this. Every city across the planet had evacuation vessels ready, each carrying thousands of terrified civilians toward safety.
And not a moment too soon.
---
Meanwhile, aboard the Holy Place II, the tension was palpable.
Ebony Maw, his robes scorched from the earlier blast, rose slowly to his feet. His face was pale, but his eyes burned with hatred.
"This woman," he hissed, staring at Bella's image on the holographic screen. "She's far too powerful."
Proxima Midnight clenched her spear, her voice low but grim. "Her strength matches that of our master. If the battle continues, both may fall."
The other three generals—Corvus Glaive, Black Dwarf, and Supergiant—nodded silently.
"The Power Stone," Proxima said, "was taken by her. If she unlocks its full energy, even the master may falter."
Her eyes glinted. "If the time comes, and the master gives the order—fire the cannon. Wipe her from existence, along with this planet."
Ebony Maw bowed slightly. "Understood."
---
Down below, in the smoldering crater of the ruined capital, Bella slowly lifted her head.
High above, she could see the Nova fleet ascending into the heavens. Her keen hearing easily picked up the Queen's orders.
"The Nova Corps truly live up to their title as the galaxy's peacekeepers," Bella murmured. "But their strength alone… is not enough."
She sighed softly. Her eyes swept across the ruins—entire districts reduced to ash. The guilt stung.
Though Thanos had caused much of the destruction, her power had contributed to the devastation.
Still, she reasoned, had she not intervened, Thanos would have unleashed the Power Stone upon Qaidar without hesitation. The Nova Corps, brave as they were, would have perished to the last soldier.
A city lost was tragic.
But a world saved—that was worth any price.
Her resolve hardened. Bella turned her gaze toward the figure still standing amid the smoke—Thanos, his massive frame wreathed in green energy and ash.
She raised her left hand. A faint golden aura coiled around her fingers.
Thanos frowned. Something primal stirred in his instincts—danger.
Before he could react, Bella's calm, icy voice reached his ears.
"Thanos… let's take this fight elsewhere."
Kacha—
The sound was like a mirror shattering.
In an instant, the world fractured into countless glasslike prisms, each reflecting infinite versions of the same broken battlefield. The skies twisted into surreal geometry.
Bella had dragged Thanos into the Mirror Dimension.
Thanos blinked, momentarily disoriented. His keen mind quickly grasped the trick.
"So… you want to move the battle away from your precious planet," he murmured. "How noble."
Even as he spoke, the real Bella—outside the mirror—vanished in a swirl of azure mist.
A heartbeat later, she reappeared in the cold vacuum beyond Qaidar's atmosphere, directly facing the massive Thanos fleet.
---
Aboard the Holy Place II, alarms screamed.
"Contact! She's here—outside the planet!"
"Where's the master? Where's Lord Thanos?"
The generals looked to one another in confusion. The Mirror Dimension was beyond their scanners. They couldn't detect their master's presence.
At the same moment, Queen Chaida and her fleet detected Bella's sudden emergence in orbit.
Her presence was overwhelming—a golden radiance rippling across space itself.
Queen Chaida's breath caught. "How… how did she appear there?"
No one had an answer.
---
Bella floated in the void, her hair streaming like a banner of starlight. In front of her, the endless formation of Thanos's warships filled the cosmos, each armed, each ready to fire.
She didn't flinch. The Mirror Dimension could only hold Thanos for a short while—she had no time to waste.
Bella extended her arm toward the darkness.
BOOM!
A pulse of blinding golden light surged from her palm. The vacuum itself seemed to ignite.
From that spark, a miniature sun began to form.
At first, it was the size of a marble. Then it grew—a meter wide, ten, a hundred, a thousand—until a blazing sphere of fire hung in orbit, radiating heat so intense that entire sensors aboard the Thanos fleet began to melt.
The surface of the newborn star roared with unstable fusion, spewing tongues of fire that stretched for miles.
Every soldier aboard every ship could see it: a star born from magic and fury.
"This… this can't be real," whispered one of the Nova pilots.
But the alarms proved otherwise.
The Fixed Star was no illusion. Its temperature was rising beyond any known threshold.
Ebony Maw's face drained of color as his instruments screamed warnings.
"Retreat! RETREAT NOW!" he shouted.
Yet it was already too late for the ships nearest to Bella.
The nearest warships vaporized instantly, their hulls disintegrating into glowing particles. The energy burst cascaded outward, consuming entire squadrons of Thanos's fleet.
Queen Chaida watched in stunned silence as the newborn sun burned brighter, its light reflected across her visor.
"This… this woman is terrifying…" she whispered.
Indeed, the power Bella wielded was beyond comprehension. Even Thanos, armed with the Power Stone, might not escape the consequences when that artificial star reached critical mass.
And when it exploded—
The entire sector would vanish.
Bella's eyes glowed a brilliant gold as she whispered softly, almost regretfully,
"This ends now."
The blazing Fixed Star pulsed once… twice…
Then erupted in a cosmic inferno, its energy wave tearing across the void like a tidal flood of pure light.
The screen aboard the Queen went white.
For one blinding instant, the heavens themselves looked as though a second sun had been born above Qaidar.
