Chapter 31 - roommate's

I breathed a sigh of relief. The stewards had done an incredible job—my chamber was finally in perfect condition. The garden had been filled with vibrant flowers, and the sweet fragrance of incense lingered in the air, giving the surroundings a touch of elegance. The room itself looked breathtaking, almost regal.

"It was worth it," I whispered to myself with satisfaction. Turning to my new servants, I smiled. "Well done. You may leave."

Once they departed, I entered my room. It was spacious and exquisite, dominated by an enormous portrait of myself that hung directly in front of my bed. After a long shower, I slipped into a crimson gown with long, transparent sleeves. Feeling refreshed, I stepped out of my chamber—only to freeze in shock.

Two princesses sat majestically, conversing in hushed tones. The moment their eyes landed on me, I felt petrified.

"What in the universe are you doing in our chamber?" one of them demanded.

"I'm… your new roommate," I managed to say.

"What? You can't be serious!" the other exclaimed, before her face lit up with delight. "Oh heavens, thank you for answering my prayers! I thought we'd never have another roommate." She clapped her hands joyfully, while the first tried to shush her excitement.

I stood there, speechless. Who would actually be happy about having a new roommate? Still, I forced a friendly smile. "I'm Princess Iris Mon-devil Von Lynx. And you are…?"

The first inclined her head gracefully. "Princess Chantal Mon -ridge."

"And I am Princess Variska Von Luaten," the second added with a small bow.

Later, we sat beneath the great tree that grew within our chamber, the ocean breeze drifting in to cool the air. The moment felt calm—until Chantal spoke.

"You mentioned Issy's name?" I asked, raising a brow.

"Yes," she admitted without hesitation. "And forgive me if it sounds harsh, but the truth is—Issy is one insufferable witch. She forces us to dress and act like complete weirdos."

"What?" I gasped in utter disbelief. "You don't mean it."

"Oh, she does," Variska cut in, her voice dripping with contempt. "Your sister Issy is influential, Iris, and we've had no choice but to endure her ridiculous demands. But know this—Issy is full of venom and surprises."

"Half," I muttered under my breath, my mind racing, unsure whether to defend her or stay silent.
