Last night was a rough one for me. I'd had a confrontation with my father, and it didn't exactly end well.
The school's counselor had called Mum about my studies. Mum, in turn, had told Dad. So walking into the house that evening was like stepping straight into a trap.
Dad didn't waste a second before lashing out. I know Mum cared—she'd never intentionally hurt me—but Dad? His obsession with controlling my life is something I'll never understand. His hypocrisy kills me. Every time I look at him, the words are right there on my tongue—that I know he's cheating on Mum. Yet there he is, pretending to be a perfect father, obsessed with me getting into Bellamy, like it's his dream and not mine.
Bellamy School of Music and Performing Arts—an Ivy-level college for the best in music. The dream wasn't even Dad's to claim. It was mine and my grandfather's.
