Bang!
The gunshot shattered the silence, sharp and metallic, ringing in my ears. Cold gripped my chest like a steel vice, freezing my breath, as my grip on Jack loosened.
Pain shot through me at that instant, the rush overwhelming as another loud shot reverberated through the air. My mind tugged at me.
But Jack's grip tightened, loosening the tension built deep down my spine. The distraction stole over my consciousness as a blow creased my face.
The hit was so fierce that I almost lost my balance, my face straying to the side as the sight before me slowly pulled at me.
Then another blow, which I barely dodged, a slight brush over my skin, and my muscles tensed. I turned back in, taking in the sparkling eyes yet again.
This time, fiercer. More brutal. Sparkles of red and brown, a stark contrast to the former.
His body visibly radiated as the sparks surged through me, launching me backward, my back sliding against the wall as he lunged forward again.
