"Lake water?" Lin Xingshi was puzzled, "Do you live on the mountain?"
The Little Nian Beast hesitated, suddenly realizing that he shouldn't have said that. If Lin Xingshi found out he was a demon, it would be a disaster. She was an Exorcist, and he'd be driven away.
"No, Little Nian's family is poor." The Little Nian Beast lowered his head, "So I can't bathe at home." He paused, "It's all my dad's fault! Dad is a bad guy!"
After speaking, he angrily submerged his mouth in the water, blowing bubbles.
"Wasn't your dad dead?" Lin Xingshi raised an eyebrow.
"Yes, he's dead." The Little Nian Beast surfaced, suddenly energized, "That's why I left."
Lin Xingshi leaned against the edge of the bathtub, silent for a long while, "But my family isn't dead yet... They're still looking for me. If they find me, I'll have to go back."
"Then I'll help you run away." The Little Nian Beast said, "I'll take you away, just like you took me."
