"I haven't gone missing," Church waved his hand, "just went on a long mission."
"I know, just kidding."
Palmer and Church sat at the bar, and Serey cooperatively poured them drinks. Church thanked Serey, while Palmer was already used to bossing around this Night Race Lord.
With Church's arrival, the game paused, and the group endlessly talked about recent events, but soon those topics were exhausted, and they moved on to telling jokes.
It was like a stew; as soon as one person finished a joke, another would start another, laughter overlapping upon laughter until everyone was laughing and coughing loudly.
Palmer was the most excessive; he almost laughed until tears came out, then sighed at the absurdity of the world.
"So, have you gone to see her?"
Palmer nudged Church with his elbow, "To her, you're just a familiar customer. It's been months; do you think she might have already forgotten you?"
Church was silent for a moment and then said, "I've been there."
