Chapter 132 - Chapter 132

After his Resurrección, Choe Neng Poww transformed into a gigantic whale-like creature with massive limbs. From his chest to his upper body, his skin displayed the patterns of a whale's belly.

His size was terrifying. Even the tall buildings within fake Karakura Town looked like mere toys before him.

Iba Tetsuzaemon stared at Poww in shock, feeling the crushing spiritual pressure radiating from him.

Now, he could understand how Madarame Ikkaku had lost to this opponent.

Against such an enemy, even if Ikkaku used his Bankai, he probably wouldn't have been able to win.

Especially considering that the blade of Ryūmon Hōzukimaru was so fragile – if he stabbed Poww with it, it would probably shatter instantly.

But Ikkaku still refused to accept defeat. Like a true man, he struggled to stand up, only to be stopped by Iba.

Not only that, Iba grabbed Ikkaku by the clothes and dragged him away.

However, Poww would not allow anyone to escape his sight.

With his massive steps, even if his movement speed wasn't that fast, he could easily catch up to Iba and Ikkaku.

As he closed in to deliver a killing blow, Komamura Sajin, who had been knocked aside earlier, reconnected his senses and reappeared behind them with Shunpo.

Komamura caught Poww's punch with both hands. Though it forced him back several meters, he managed to stop it.

Then, Komamura stabilized his stance and with full force, performed an over-the-shoulder throw.

In an instant, he flipped the mountain-sized Poww and sent him crashing down.

That move was undeniably impressive.

However, for the thick-skinned Poww, it caused no damage at all.

He quickly got up and yawned dismissively.

Komamura closed his eyes calmly, looking completely unbothered.

Unlike Ikkaku, Komamura wasn't stingy with his power.

"Bankai. Kokujo Tengen Myo'o."

Accompanied by an enormous surge of spiritual pressure, a towering black-armored giant manifested behind him.

Seeing Poww charge up an enormous Cero, Kokujo Tengen Myo'o raised its blade like a baseball bat and struck.

The slash sent Poww's fully charged Cero flying away, deflecting it effortlessly.

Facing an opponent as gigantic as himself, Poww felt his fighting spirit ignite.

He swung his mountain-sized fist down towards Kokujo Tengen Myo'o.

But the black-armored giant showed no fear.

With Komamura's roar, Kokujo Tengen Myo'o delivered a powerful uppercut that sent Poww flying.

It was the true meaning of: "If you act tough, I'll send you into the sky."

The force of the blow knocked Poww flat on the ground, coughing out stomach fluids from the impact.

For the first time, Poww found himself completely suppressed by an opponent of equal size.

Enraged, he pounced forward and fired a massive Cero at point-blank range straight into Kokujo Tengen Myo'o's body.

Poww wasn't stupid. Through their brief clash, he realized that the black-armored giant mirrored Komamura's actions.

So he guessed that damage dealt to it might also affect Komamura.

He was right.

Kokujo Tengen Myo'o and Komamura were completely linked. Any damage it suffered would be inflicted upon Komamura as well.

"Captain!" Iba shouted worriedly.

But Komamura remained calm. Under his control, Kokujo Tengen Myo'o didn't dodge at all.

Instead, the giant effortlessly caught Poww's massive Cero with its hand, forcing it back down and stuffing the blast straight into Poww's mouth.

The zero-distance counterattack caused Poww's legs to buckle, and he fell to his knees in agony.

Komamura showed no pity.

"Tengen."

He raised his Zanpakuto, and Kokujo Tengen Myo'o swung its massive blade down.

With a single, overwhelming slash, Poww was cut cleanly in two.

The force of the blow flattened the surrounding buildings completely.

Komamura calmly sheathed his Zanpakuto as his giant Bankai faded away.

Watching the entire battle, Iba turned to Ikkaku and said,

"Ikkaku… your Bankai is worlds apart from Captain's Bankai."

Hearing those words, Ikkaku finally realized…

So everyone actually knew about his Bankai?

Only he himself believed that mastering Bankai would force him to leave the Eleventh Division to become a Captain elsewhere.

In truth, neither Yamamoto-soutaichou nor anyone else had ever said that.

Becoming a Captain required passing strength assessments. Even if recommended by six Captains, the Head Captain still needed to verify their combat capabilities.

Ikkaku had been overthinking it all along.

With his current strength, he had no qualifications to become a Captain.

Seeing Ikkaku's silence, Iba scolded him sternly.

"As Shinigami, our first duty is to obey the orders given to us. Even if it means crushing our own pride and beliefs, we must complete our missions. Hiding your power and failing your task is nothing but childishness!"

He spoke harshly, directly berating Ikkaku.

"If you really want to uphold your principles, then you should be fighting with all your strength!"

Ikkaku said nothing. He knew Iba was completely right.

His actions disrespected not only himself but also the Gotei 13, and worse, the very essence of battle he cherished.

Such a disgraceful defeat without going all out was unworthy of the Eleventh Division.

Ayasegawa Yumichika had been fooled by Ikkaku's poor example.

Even Kenpachi, who loved fighting more than anyone, had put aside his pride to use Yamamoto-soutaichou's taught kendo when Nnoitra defeated him.

Dead men can't enjoy battle.

Both Yumichika and Ikkaku were blindly chasing after an image.

They didn't understand Kenpachi's true thoughts at all.

Kenpachi had never said he hated Kido. He simply wasn't good at it and preferred cutting enemies directly.

Later, after achieving Shikai, Kenpachi wielded it with tremendous skill and joy.

Meanwhile, with Poww defeated, though Ikkaku technically achieved a victory, it was no different from a complete failure.

Barrera, enraged by his subordinates' deaths, crushed the armrest of his throne.

Seeing his wrath, his Fraccións – Ggio Vega and Nirgge Parduoc – stepped forward to fight.

They prepared to face one of the strongest combinations in Soul Society:

Soi Fon and Omaeda Marechiyo.

Barrera stood up and reluctantly granted them permission.

Thus began Omaeda's first direct battle to shock Soul Society.

Chased relentlessly across fake Karakura Town by Nirgge in his Resurrección form, Omaeda ran frantically.

But who could blame him? His opponent was like a rampaging mammoth, charging at him from the start.

Only a madman would stand and fight that head-on. Omaeda wasn't about to waste his time.

Though he looked pathetic, he was only hiding his true power.

Finally, with nowhere left to run, Omaeda unleashed his Flying Meteor Flail and smashed Nirgge to defeat, concealing his achievements once more.

On the other side, Soi Fon faced Ggio Vega, an Arrancar specializing in speed and close combat.

Though she had sparred with Ichigo many times recently, her own power hadn't weakened at all.

In fact, with Ichigo's… essence infused within her, she had only become stronger.

Facing this saber-toothed tiger masked Adjuchas, Soi Fon showed no fear, easily dodging all his attacks.

Ggio Vega thought her speed was average, only to realize his strikes achieved nothing.

All his ferocious attacks failed to even touch her clothing.

Frustrated, Ggio Vega activated his special Resurrección mode.

His lean frame instantly bulked up into a pink spiritual pressure-covered muscle giant.

"Hahahaha! Not bad, Shinigami Captain. Entering this mode costs me two months of recovery time, but to kill you—"

But before he could finish, Soi Fon had already ended it.

Nigeki Kessatsu.

With a single strike, she pierced both his lungs from front and back simultaneously.

The two identical stings marked him with Nigeki Kessatsu's sigil.

Instant death.

His muscular body was instantly reduced to a giant butterfly insignia.

Seeing his Fraccións killed, Barrera had no choice but to step in personally.

At the same time, the remaining two Espada also moved.

Some willingly, some forced.

For example, our middle-aged uncle Starrk was forced into fighting.

His challenger was none other than Kyōraku Shunsui, Captain of Squad Eight.

Though Kyōraku usually slacked off and even had the embarrassing history of being sneak-attacked by Kaname's subordinate, when he was serious, he was utterly reliable.

He immediately chose the opponent with the highest Reiatsu – Starrk.

Meanwhile, Hitsugaya Toushirou and Matsumoto Rangiku faced the only female Espada, Harribel, and her trio of Fraccións.

"Captain Hitsugaya, you take their boss. Leave the other three to me," Rangiku assured him.

Hitsugaya trusted her fully and Shunpo'd towards Harribel.

Her Fracción, Apache, tried to intercept, but Harribel stopped her.

"Apache. Leave him to me."

Harribel wanted a proper one-on-one duel with Hitsugaya.

She hooked her finger around her Zanpakuto's hilt and drew it slowly.

Hitsugaya made no move to stop her.

Meanwhile, Rangiku faced all three Fraccións alone.

Theoretically, a Fracción's strength should equal a Vice-Captain, but Harribel's subordinates might surpass normal Vice-Captains.

For Rangiku, this would be a true challenge.
