Szayel Aporro stood there completely unharmed, looking at Pesche and Dondochakka.
Pesche and Dondochakka were panting heavily as they stared at Szayel Aporro, who hadn't received a single scratch. They couldn't believe what they were seeing.
"Actually, I've known your identities for a long time… You two were Nell's Fracción back in the day, weren't you?" Szayel Aporro sneered as he looked at Pesche and Dondochakka.
The two were shocked to the core. Their appearances were completely different from their Arrancar forms back then, and even their reiatsu felt different. Yet Szayel Aporro still saw through them instantly.
"I didn't expect that those two test subjects from back then could even return to Las Noches. But it's fine. I've been monitoring and researching the two of you during this fight. I already understand all of your techniques completely."
"Hahahaha! You have no other moves left, do you? That Cero just now consumed ninety percent of your spiritual power."
With that, Pesche fell off Dondochakka's head, completely exhausted.
The scales of victory tipped back to the greatest scientist in Hueco Mundo.
But as Szayel Aporro was gloating, he didn't notice that another scientist was secretly watching all of his actions from the shadows.
"Hehehe… I didn't expect someone like you to exist even here in Hueco Mundo."
Mayuri smiled sinisterly as he watched Szayel Aporro.
Szayel Aporro looked at the strange man before him in surprise.
If nothing else, Mayuri's facial modifications alone could scare any child to tears in the human world.
"Who are you? A Shinigami?" Szayel Aporro didn't expect anyone to escape his surveillance right under his nose.
"Hehehe… I'm not some Shinigami. I'm just a scientist. I don't have the power they do," Mayuri replied casually.
Of course, this attitude irritated Szayel Aporro greatly.
Perhaps it was some sort of repulsion between similar types, but Mayuri also seemed quite disgusted just looking at Szayel Aporro.
"What a rare Hollow you are… Once I defeat you, I'll make sure to turn you into one of my test subjects." Mayuri eyed Szayel Aporro up and down like a prized specimen.
But Szayel Aporro had exactly the same thought.
"Is that so? I'd rather bottle you up and turn you into my doll instead," Szayel Aporro said with a perverse smile.
After a short exchange of threats, Szayel Aporro's tentacles suddenly shot out and wrapped around Mayuri, who made no effort to dodge.
Just like with Renji and the others, Mayuri's doll appeared in Szayel Aporro's hand.
Seeing this, Renji and the others felt complete despair.
Their reinforcement had been taken down immediately.
"Hahahaha! So this is what the famed scientist amounts to?"
Szayel Aporro twisted Mayuri's doll and began crushing its components piece by piece.
Mayuri cooperated perfectly, lying on the ground and giving exact reactions to each squeeze.
"Ah! My kidney!"
"Ah! My thigh bone!"
"Ah! My tendon!"
He shouted out each organ's name as if reciting a shopping list, leaving Renji and the others dumbfounded.
"Alright, I'm done playing. Time to turn you into one of my test subjects." Szayel Aporro sneered, twisting and breaking the doll's neck.
Mayuri, dead.
Szayel Aporro burst into triumphant laughter as he looked down at Mayuri's corpse.
"So this is a captain of the Gotei 13? Killing you is way too easy!"
But just as Szayel Aporro was gloating, Mayuri's supposedly lifeless body suddenly made a funny face at him.
"What?! Aren't you dead?!"
Szayel Aporro immediately jumped back to increase the distance between them, but he quickly crushed the doll completely.
Even so, Mayuri reacted, though that was all.
Szayel Aporro couldn't understand it. If the doll had a reaction, how was someone with his organs and bones destroyed still standing there completely fine?
This wasn't even scientific to either Hollows or Shinigami.
"Does a lifeform exist that can survive without any internal organs…?"
Mayuri simply waved his hand.
"Of course not. No one can live without their organs."
"Actually, when I fought that Quincy, Uryū Ishida, I implanted bacteria in his body to monitor him. I already fully understood your ability, so I prepared replacement organs for everything."
He laughed coldly.
"No one can live without their organs. I simply swapped in new ones."
"Your little doll trick is useless against me."
Mayuri pointed at Szayel Aporro with a smug grin.
Of course, Szayel Aporro wasn't about to surrender. He used his tentacles to snatch Nemu from the ground.
However, Szayel Aporro clearly didn't understand Mayuri and Nemu's relationship.
Thinking he could use Nemu to threaten Mayuri was laughable, but this action still enraged him.
"Nemu may be my creation, but that doesn't mean I'll let you do as you please with her."
"Bankai. Konjiki Ashisogi Jizō."
Mayuri drew his zanpakutō and released it.
A massive golden caterpillar appeared in the sky, spewing vast amounts of poisonous smoke from its mouth.
Even as a scientist, Szayel Aporro knew plenty about antidotes, but no one could just stand there inhaling poison smoke directly.
Before he could escape, Konjiki Ashisogi Jizō's poisonous smoke had completely surrounded him.
"Damn it… I'll neutralize your poison!"
He absorbed the poison and desperately tried to detoxify it, but every method failed.
Then Konjiki Ashisogi Jizō bit him in one swift motion and swallowed him whole.
Mayuri smiled faintly as he watched.
Apart from Nemu, who was left hanging from the caterpillar's mouth, Szayel Aporro's entire body was devoured.
However, as Mayuri moved to rescue Nemu, she suddenly let out a pained cry.
A pink mist sprayed from her mouth, shifting shape in midair, and Szayel Aporro's voice came from it.
Finally, the mist took Szayel Aporro's form.
Nemu collapsed weakly to the ground, her face pale and devoid of strength.
This was Szayel Aporro's ultimate technique.
Gabriel's Annunciation.
He could insert his tentacles into an opponent's body and implant an egg that would absorb all of their reishi and nutrients, eventually birthing a new body.
Essentially a resurrection technique – as long as he could implant an egg before dying, he could be reborn by absorbing the host completely.
"Hahahaha! Like a phoenix, I turn death itself into part of life. A perfect life form!" Szayel Aporro declared proudly.
But Mayuri didn't even look at him. Instead, he checked on Nemu kneeling weakly before him.
He wasn't worried she would die. He just couldn't stand seeing his greatest creation defiled like this.
Then, Mayuri suddenly smiled.
"Hahahaha… You call yourself a perfect life form? You must have more techniques, don't you? Come on, show me everything. I'm very interested."
Szayel Aporro smirked coldly. He curled his finger, and suddenly Mayuri's Bankai, Konjiki Ashisogi Jizō, turned against its master and swallowed Mayuri whole.
Szayel Aporro burst into laughter.
"Didn't expect that, did you? My devoured flesh dissolves and infiltrates the nervous system, letting me control the devourer's body entirely."
"But, well… you probably can't hear me anymore."
However, just as he was enjoying his victory, Konjiki Ashisogi Jizō exploded into pieces.
Of course, as a mad scientist, Mayuri had modified his zanpakutō long ago. Even though Bankai, once destroyed, was supposed to be irreparable, how many times had he rebuilt it by now?
He even left backdoors so that with a single glance, he could shatter it instantly.
Seeing this, Szayel Aporro had to admit… this Shinigami was impressive.
They truly were two perverts evenly matched.
Mayuri retrieved his zanpakutō calmly.
"Actually, I've already administered a certain drug into your body," he said casually.
Szayel Aporro looked at him incredulously, thinking he was bluffing.
But Mayuri never bluffed.
"In truth, I develop new drugs all the time. As my lieutenant, Nemu is my test subject. Earlier, when I checked on her, it was only to confirm which drug had invaded your body."
He took out a small blue vial from his pocket and showed it to Szayel Aporro.
"This is my newest creation. I call it Superhuman Drug. Don't worry, it's not a poison."
"Anyone who takes this will experience the world in extreme slow motion, like a swordsman seeing blades frozen mid-swing."
"However, the dose inside Nemu's body was far beyond the normal amount. Normally, you'd have to dilute a single drop 250,000 times before using it."
"So now, your senses are 250,000 times sharper than normal."
"For an ordinary person, this is pure torment. Because in your perception, everything in this world has become impossibly slow."
"Even a simple sword swing from me would take centuries, maybe millennia, to complete in your eyes."
The drug had already taken full effect.
Who knew when Szayel Aporro would even finish processing Mayuri's words?
In his current state, he was more sluggish than any Hollow.
Mayuri slowly pierced Szayel Aporro's raised hand with his zanpakutō and stabbed straight into his heart. But to Szayel Aporro's senses, it would take thousands, even tens of thousands of years to feel that pain.
In his mind, centuries passed. His face aged, his spirit withered, and he prayed for that blade to finally end him.
