Chapter 8 - 8: Naruto

A/N: Sasuke will be hopping between the two world a lot in the start while he goes through the stupid missions. Only after the Wave mission will he stay inside each world longer for strength. Sorry for that!

-------------------------------

'Wait!' Sasuke's eyes widened as his thoughts spiraled to when he chose his Keepsake.

[Lands Between Rune - Use to receive many Runes.] He had dismissed it after a few second of thinking, since he hadn't known what runes were, but seeing as it helps him gain strength, he cursed his bad luck before his vision turned dark.

---

Sasuke opened his eyes to the sight of his apartment. Looking to his window, he saw the moon hung high in the air. Turning to his clock, he read the time. 'a Little over an hour...' He noted and tried to think of how long he stayed in the Lands Between.

He didn't stay long because he wanted to see the time disparity between the two realms. 'I think I was there for a little over four hours... Might be more.' He thought, thinking back to his conversation with Kale and how he'd walked slowly through the land, not wanting to attract unnecessary attention.

Nodding, he went and turned off his light, unequipped his armor and laid down in his bed.

---

Kakashi stood on a tree branch, his eyes staring at Sasuke. Narrowing his eyes, he vanished from his position. "Where were you, Sasuke?" His mutter left traveling through the empty air.

---

The next day, Sasuke stood at the training area with Sakura and Naruto sat next to him. They had been sitting around for more than an hour as they waited for their Jonin, Kakashi, to show up.

Suddenly, Naruto jumped to his feet. "You're late!" He yelled and Sasuke turned to where Naruto had yelled at, seeing his carefree Jonin slowly walking towards the.

"Sorry. Sorry." Kakashi lazily apologized as he walked to the front of them. Reaching o his side, he took two bells that hung from his waist and held it in the air in front of his face. "This is the objective of today's test." He explained and hung it back on his waist. "You're..." He pointed at the three of them. "Goal is to capture these bells from me."

Naruto excitedly took a step forward, wanting to start as soon as possible, while Sasuke narrowed his eyes. 'Why only two?' He thought, but put the thought at the back of his head as Kakashi spoke up.

"Use any means possible to grab these bells off of me." His voice turned serious. "Come at me with the intent to kill." He said and placed a timer down on the wooden pole behind him. "This timer is set to noon. The one person who doesn't get a bell would be tied against the pole behind me, and will not eat lunch."

At his words, all three of their eyes widened. "What?!" Naruto yelled out. "So this is why you told us to skip breakfast?!" He asked, only for Kakashi to smirk evilly, or at least it seemed so.

"Now then..." Kakashi spoke up, wanting to say start, but before he could, Naruto took out a Kunai, prepared to throw it at Kakashi.

Vanishing from his spot, Kakashi appeared behind Naruto, holding the blonde's hand behind his head. "You didn't even give me time to say start..." He spoke lazily.

'Fast!' Sasuke thought, having been unable to see even the man's shadow move.

Kakashi glanced around at the three of them. "Finally acknowledged me?" He spoke, his voice sounding as if he was smiling. "Alright then... Start!"

Sasuke jumped back into a bush, trying to hide his chakra presence to the best of his abilities. Looking to his right, he spots Sakura also hiding in a bush. 'Good.' He nods silently and turns back to the center where Kakashi stood and Naruto. "Naruto?!" Sasuke spoke, his voice whispered. "This dumbass!"

"Why didn't you go hide like your team?" Kakashi asked, his visible eyebrow raised in mock confusion.

With a smirk, Naruto spoke. "All I need to do is take one of those bells!" He said. "Now! Come fight me!" He demanded.

His eyes not leaving the boy, Kakashi reached behind him slowly, his hand moving to his pouch. His hand dug through it for a few seconds before he quickly pulled out a... Book?

"a Book?! Why do you have a book?!" Naruto yelled out, pointing at Kakashi, who by now had opened up the book, reading slowly.

"Hmm?" Kakashi glanced at Naruto before continuing to read. "Because I wanna see what happens next of course." He answered, acting like it was something obvious.

"Fine! I'll just beat you up!" Naruto clenched his fist and ran up to Kakashi. Swinging his fist, Kakashi caught it easily. Yanking it back, he jumped up, arming his leg before kicking at Kakashi's head with a smirk.

Ducking, Kakashi flipped the page as Naruto landed next to him, back exposed causing a sudden idea to strike his head. Quickly closing the book, he puts his hands together, forming a tiger seal.

"Huh?" Naruto glanced behind him, seeing Kakashi's sealed hands.

"Too late..." Kakashi's low voice reached the poor boy's ears before he yelled out, thrusting his fingers forward. "Hidden Leaf's taijutsu supreme art: 1000 years of death!"

Those were the last things Naruto heard before feeling a sudden and intense pain shooting through his anus, lifting him into the air, sending him flying.

"Ahhhhhh~~!" Naruto's fleeting scream echoed through the field.

Splash!

---

'The hell?' Sasuke wiped the sweat off his forehead. 'It's not even a jutsu...' Shaking his head, he jumped up to a tree while Kakashi was distracted and pulled out his katana from within his inventory.

After a few seconds of looking at the still standing Kakashi, Sasuke looked at the river, feeling Naruto's chakra moving.

Splash!

Naruto jumped out of the river and landed on the ground, his clothes soaked. "Cough!" He spat out water, looking at Kakashi, who slowly walked towards him.

"Hey, what's wrong?" Kakashi spoke, looking down at Naruto. "If you don't get a bell by noon, you won't get lunch." He pointed out as Naruto clenched his fists.

"I know that!" Naruto yelled, coming to his feet. "I can still fight with an empty stomach!" As he spoke, a few clones of Naruto jumped out from the river, heading straight towards Kakashi.

---

"Okay..." Sasuke exhaled slowly as he crouched down on the tree branch, seeing Kakashi being distracted. Gripping his sheathed katana at his hip, he strained his leg muscles, preparing to jump down. 'I can't take him on by myself...' As he thought, he remembered the beat down he got from the Grafted Scion.

Fwoosh!

Sasuke jumped down, unsheathing his katana midair before slicing at Kakashi's back.

"Heh." Kakashi sneered. "Finally decided to show yourself?" As he spoke, he grabbed one of Naruto's clones and flung him at Sasuke's blade.

Poof...

Smoke burst from the clone as Sasuke's blade made contact, blocking his view. 'Shit.' He cursed, falling to the ground, his body lowered, ready for Kakashi's follow up attack. As the smoke died down, Sasuke stared in the direction where Kakashi stood, but saw nothing but a group of Narutos hitting each other.

"Are you Kakashi?!" "No! You are!" The clones yelled at each other, fists flying.

'This moron...' Sasuke thought and looked around.

"Ahhh!"

Turning to his back, Sasuke heard Sakura scream in despair. Jumping up a tree, he hopped from branch to branch, heading to where the scream had come from.

"Can't you just dispel the clones?" a Clone spoke to Naruto after hitting him. "That way there'd only be two Narutos!" The clone declared, a smirk on his face at his own idea.

"Good idea!" Naruto quickly formed a seal, ending the Shadow clones. After a few seconds of smoke, he stood alone... "Damnit!" He cursed.

---

Sasuke stopped on a branch, narrowed eyes looking at Kakashi standing a few feet away from a kneeling Sakura. 'a Genjutsu?' He thought, feeling her disrupted chakra. Sheathing his sword, he formed a few seals and jumped into the air.

'Fire style: Great fireball Jutsu!'

He spits a fireball bigger than him at Kakashi. Landing on the ground as the fireball made contact, dust flew, blocking his view. Narrowing his eyes, he took out kunais and hurled it into the dust cloud.

"Did I get him..?" Sasuke muttered, his eyes never leaving the dust cloud. After a few seconds, the dust settled, revealing an empty spot. 'Where?!' He whipped his head around in search for the Jonin.

"Below you..."

a Muffled voice comes from below him. Thinking quickly, he unsheathed his word, stabbing the ground right underneath him, just in time as a hand reached out.

Poof!

The hand blows up in smoke and Sasuke jumps away from his position.

"Quick thinking." Kakashi spoke from behind Sasuke. "I'll admit..." Kakashi spoke, blocking the punch Sasuke threw. "You're different than the other two."

Sasuke jumped back and weaved through seals again, sending another fireball at Kakashi. 'I'm running low...' He thought, feeling his almost empty chakra pool. Unsheathing his sword, he sung the blade through the air, as if feeling it's weight before lowering his stance.

Kakashi hummed at the sight. 'Kenjutsu huh..?' He thought, looking at Sasuke rushing at him, his blade raised. Turning his head to the side, he dodged the stab to his face with a raised eyebrow. 'He seems experienced...' He thought and blocked the following slice with the back of his head.

Ting!

The katana clashed with the metal plate at the back of his glove. Kakashi's other hand stuck forward, grabbing Sasuke by the neck.

"Gah!" Sasuke let out, feeling the pressure against his pipes. He felt his legs leave the ground beneath him, dangling. With some effort, he kicked at Kakashi's waist, aiming for the bells.

Ding!

The bells chime, swinging against each other before Sasuke felt Kakashi's grip tightening. Looking up, he saw Kakashi's emotionless eye before his world turned around.

Bang!

Kakashi slammed Sasuke against the ground and slowly brought his hand back. Looking at the motionless boy, he narrowed his eyes, glancing at the Katana next to him. "Let's hope it's nothing bad..." he muttered and vanished from his position.
