Lucius was… different.
I had imagined him to be a hundred things—cold, ruthless, distant, cruel—but gentle was never one of them. Even looking at him, you wouldn't think he was capable of such a thing. He looked like a creature carved from shadows and vengeance—his features sharp enough to cut, his eyes holding the weight of centuries. His entire presence screamed power and danger, not tenderness.
Yet here he was, being gentle. With my little dragons.
He was, after all, the Vampire King—the terrifying, brooding, ancient creature who exuded danger and death in every step. I had expected him to be cold, ruthless, and unyielding in every sense of the word. But what I saw before me now was something else entirely. Gentle. Caring. Patient.
