✦ Lucius POV
I should've respected her boundaries. When she'd asked me to look away, I should've done it without hesitation. But I hadn't. I couldn't.
The moment her naked form had been in front of me—vulnerable, exposed—my body had reacted before my mind could even process what was happening.
She wasn't a woman like the others. She was wild. Chaotic. She had this fire inside her that matched my own.
Her defiance. Her foolishness. Her life—it called to me, a siren's song in a world of endless gray.
I shifted uncomfortably. The image of her, furious and beautiful, standing naked before me—dragons blocking her modesty as she fought to protect herself from the very creatures she'd raised—was burned into my mind. My body hadn't forgotten either.
That fire…
I ran a hand through my hair, frustrated with myself.
