Chapter 8 - Part 7:Devils, Delusions, and Danger in Disguise

The Park mansion was supposed to be the definition of peace—luxury, quiet halls, and regal air. But thanks to Moon Doyun, it sounded more like a haunted daycare run by caffeinated toddlers.

"Give. Me. Back. My. Phone!" Haru chased the little gremlin through the corridor, face red, tie askew, and breathing like he'd just run a marathon. "I swear on every limited-edition keyboard I own, Doyun! if I catch you you will be deadmeat "

Doyun, Park Taehyun's innocent-to-adults cousin and literal devil spawn to everyone else, stuck out his tongue. "Too late! I already sent the message. Dad will know your true feelings!"

"What message—WHAT DID YOU SEND!?"

Haru's voice cracked like a broken flute. He skidded to a stop as Doyun held up the phone and grinned. "Just a little confession. Something sweet. Something spicy. Something like… *'I've fallen for you, Jinhwan sunbee . Let's have a fun together *."

Haru screamed.

"Ahhhhhhhhhhh Moon doyun Ahhhhhhh"

Within five minutes, Haru was stomping into Moon Jinhwan's office, face ablaze. Jinhwan sat at his desk, sipping coffee with an amused smile.

"Confessing before lunch? You're braver than I thought," Jinhwan teased.

"IT'S NOT ME "BELIEVE ME" IT WAS DOYUN!" Haru bellowed, smacking the phone on the desk. "Your devil of a son did it again!"

"Ah, he's just expressing his affection. Through psychological warfare."

"I will resign! I swear I will!"

"You say that every other day," Jinhwan replied, smug. "Yet here you are, passionately storming into my office. Don't be shy, Haru."

"AHHHHH SUNBEE I hate you."

"You hate how good I look in this SHIRT right? Or you can really hate me hmmm."

Moon Jinhwan is saying this while getting closer to Haru.

"I'm I'm... I don't know don't ask me"

He just can't seem to find the words.

Meanwhile, the devil in question was lounging in the living room with a bag of chips, watching the drama unfold on a secret camera he'd installed weeks ago. Taehyun walked past, arching a brow.

"Doyun. What are you doing?"

"Building memories," he replied sweetly.

"You're sixteen ."

"Memories start early."

"...Remind me to upgrade Haru's phone security."

That night, Taehyun soaked in the hot shower, hoping the steam would erase his exhaustion. But heat had a cruel way of unlocking memories—memories he tried so hard to drown.

Russia.

Vasilliy.

The heavy doors of the study, the scent of spice and steel. Vasilliy had cornered him once, voice low, breath warm.

"No one touches what's mine, Taehyun."

"You don't own me."

"I don't need to own. I mark."

His words had sent shivers down Taehyun's spine, fire curling low in his belly. He had escaped eventually—but sometimes, he still woke up wondering if he really wanted to.

He turned the water cold.

"Snap out of it," he whispered. "He's not here."

The next morning, a mysterious envelope arrived.

Black. Sleek. Sealed with wax.

Taehyun opened it cautiously. Inside—no letter. No message. Just a single black feather.

It carried a scent that clung to his throat, sharp and familiar. No Omega or Beta would recognize it. But he did.

Alpha?

No.

His fingers trembled as he clutched the feather.

He didn't need a signature. He knew exactly who sent it.

"Vasilliy" .

That afternoon, Minjun arrived.

In a suit so tight, Taehyun genuinely feared for the fabric's life.

"Taehyun!" Minjun beamed, holding out a bouquet.

Doyun intercepted him, casually swapping the flowers with cactus stems. "Oops."

Taehyun eyed the prickly mess. "Why does this bouquet feel like it came with trauma?"

Minjun, ever oblivious, declared, "My love is sharp, my feelings raw!"

"So is this cactus, Minjun."

Later, Haru stomped through the hallway with a file in hand. He turned the corner—and slammed into Jinhwan.

Again.

"Do you have a radar for my misery?" Haru growled.

"I just follow the sound of your adorable complaints," Jinhwan murmured, stepping closer.

Too close.

"Personal space?" Haru squeaked, backing up until his back hit the wall.

"You always yell," Jinhwan said, voice soft. "But your blush says otherwise."

"I'm red because I'm ANGRY!"

"Of course," he smirked. "Anger makes your lips pout like that?"

"Mr. Moon, if you don't move—"

"Mom, are you cheating on Dad again?"

They both froze.

Doyun peeked in from the hallway, grinning like a demon.

Haru looked like he might actually explode. "I AM NOT YOUR MOM!And what are you doing in office this not your playground YOU LITTLE DEVIL "

"HHHHHH Your not my mom "Yet. And I will make my playground anywhere I go " Jinhwan winked.

Haru shrieked.

Across the city, in a darkened room, surveillance screens flickered. On one of them, Taehyun's image glowed.

Vasilliy Romanov sat in silence, eyes locked on the screen.

"You look good in my absence," he muttered. "Too good."

Valdamer stepped into the room. "You're really going through with this?"

Vasilliy's gaze didn't shift. "I told him he's mine. I don't make empty promises."

Valdamer exhaled. "Just… don't break him."

"I won't." A shadow of a smile touched his lips. "But I will bend him."

And just like that, the camera feed went dark.

The next day

The Park mansion was buzzing again—and not just because of the engagement aftermath. Moon Doyun, the Park family's little devil (affectionately titled 'angel' by the elders), had his sights set on a new mission: stir chaos in the most creative way possible.

That morning, Taehyun was blissfully asleep, snuggled in his silky white sheets, when Doyun tiptoed into the room. With a devious grin, he took out a deep red lipstick from Eun-Kyung's makeup stash and carefully drew a convincing hickey right on Taehyun's neck.

"Perfect," Doyun whispered, eyes gleaming. He snapped a picture and tiptoed out before anyone noticed.

When Taehyun came down for breakfast, still yawning and stretching, Eun-Kyung dropped her spoon.

"WHAT IS THAT ON YOUR NECK?!" she shrieked.

Baek Hyun choked on his coffee. Taeho burst into laughter, nearly falling off his chair.

Taehyun blinked. "What?" he asked, confused. Haru, who was sipping tea nearby, slowly turned his head, eyes wide with suspicion.

Moon Doyun entered dramatically with a smug smirk. "Oh hyung, you didn't even try to hide it."

Taehyun rushed to a mirror and screamed, "WHAT THE—!?"

"I—I DIDN'T DO THIS!" he yelled, grabbing Haru by the shoulders. "Tell them! Haru, tell them I was with you all night—I mean, not with you—but like… you saw me last night!"

Haru cleared his throat, turning pink. "I-I did… but uh… not the neck part."

Eun-Kyung was already calling for lemon and salt, ready to scrub her son's honor clean.

Doyun just sipped his orange juice like an innocent angel.

Meanwhile, Valdamer and Vasilliy, were quietly observing the Park household from a discreet distance. Valdamer wasn't watching Haru specifically, but rather studying the dynamics. He raised a brow when he saw Haru nearly fall off his chair laughing after the hickey fiasco. "That one's spirited," he muttered.

Vasilliy, however, was simmering.

He had seen the lipstick mark too. From his screen. His spy had sent him the photo.

His jaw clenched.

"Draw fake hickeys, huh?" he growled. "Let's see how funny it is when I return."

Back in the Park mansion, Jinhwan was cleaning up after breakfast when Haru sheepishly offered to help. The two shared a few quiet, awkward, and flirty moments. Doyun saw it all.

He leaned against the kitchen door, muttering, "Haru-umma has a nice ring to it."

Jinhwan turned scarlet. Haru choked on air.

And so, chaos reigned supreme—thanks to one little devil with too much lipstick and too many secrets.

But amidst the laughter and pranks, Vasilliy's shadow loomed closer… and this time, he wasn't coming to joke.
