Chapter 37 - [37] Miss Valentine, Mikita

"You bastard! Let me out of here right now!"

Mikita's voice rang out with pure rage. Sora raised an eyebrow—and a heavy iron chain hanging inside the cell suddenly floated into the air.

Smack!

The chain lashed across Mikita's back, leaving a harsh red welt.

"Ahhh!" she screamed, collapsing to the floor.

Clutching the fresh wound on her back, Mikita glared at Sora, her eyes burning with hatred. "You damn bastard!"

Rather than breaking her spirit, the strike only made her angrier.

Smack!

Another lash. Another welt.

"You son of a bitch!" Mikita spat, grinding her teeth as she clutched the bars.

Sora grinned.

A stubborn one. Just his type.

And Mikita? Beautiful face, knockout figure, impressive potential—and now, proven grit. That just made her even more interesting.

[Name: Mikita][Affiliation: Former Baroque Works Agent][Skills: None][Talents: None][Affection: -50][Combat Level: Two-Star][Devil Fruit: Kilo-Kilo Fruit]

He sat back in his chair, eyes scanning her up and down.

To be fair, she didn't lose out to Nami or Robin in looks or charm. Maybe even edged them out in attitude.

Still, Sora had to figure out the best way to tame her.

Mikita was prideful. Arrogant. Defiant.

For someone like her, brute force wouldn't work—it would just stiffen her resolve.

But prideful types had a common weakness.

They couldn't stand being looked down on.

Mock them. Dismiss them. Treat them like they're nothing—and it ate them alive.

Sora already had a plan.

"Miss Valentine, wielder of the Kilo-Kilo Fruit. Bounty: 7.5 million Beli. A high-ranking officer in Baroque Works, powerful and dangerous," he said with a warm smile.

"Hmph!"

"If you know I'm powerful, then quit playing games and let me out already."

She turned her head and lifted her chin with smug arrogance.

Sora smiled wider.

"I heard Reiju took you down in a single move."

Her eyes twitched.

"She ambushed me. You know what an ambush is, right?"

"Oh?" Sora raised a brow. "From what I heard, you ran the second it started."

Her expression snapped. She lunged at the bars, yelling, "I went to get reinforcements! You understand what that means?!"

Mikita had gone to fetch the mole woman and the bat-wielding guy—it wasn't a retreat. Hearing it twisted like that made her furious.

"Funny," Sora said with a mocking tone. "Reiju said you left Golden Week behind to be bait while you ran like a coward."

He clicked his tongue and shook his head in fake disappointment, his eyes dripping with disdain.

"You piece of—!" Mikita raged, clutching the cell bars with trembling fingers. "Let me out right now! I'll kill that lying bimbo!"

"You? Kill her?" Sora raised a single finger. "She dropped you with one move."

"You…"

Her body trembled. Her eyes turned red. She looked ready to explode.

Sora was honestly worried she'd have a stroke from the anger.

"You need to give up," he added casually. "Even if I let you out, you wouldn't last a second against Reiju."

"You couldn't even beat my two little maids."

That did it.

"WHAT?!"

Mikita was livid. It was one thing to lose to a modified super-soldier like Reiju—but two maids?

She bared her teeth. "Then bring them! Let's see how they like getting wrecked by me!"

Sora shrugged. "They've only been training for a month. Even so, they can probably handle you."

He wasn't just bluffing. Mikita barely scratched the surface of her fruit's true potential. Meanwhile, Anna and Shalria were well-trained, had battle suits, and weren't the least bit fazed by flight-based attacks.

"You say they can beat me in just a month of training?!"

Mikita shook the bars with rage. "Fine! Bring it on!"

Sora looked amused. "And if you lose?"

"If I lose, do whatever the hell you want!" she shouted, not thinking twice. She just wanted to erase the shame.

"Alright then. If you lose, you do whatever I say. No complaints. But if you win, I'll set you free—and even make Reiju apologize."

"How's that for a deal?"

Mikita slammed her hands against the bars. "You're on!"

Half an hour later.

Under the moonlit sky, the Divine Slave's deck was the stage for a midnight duel.

Shalria was bouncing on her heels, full of excitement as she faced Mikita.

Behind her, Anna sulked—disappointed that she didn't get the chance to show off in front of Sora.

Mikita glanced over her opponent's outfit—a revealing maid uniform with an odd-looking collar around her neck.

She sneered. "Yahahaha, that's one kinky necklace."

Anna and Shalria both raised an eyebrow at the sarcasm.

"What? Jealous?" Anna shot back proudly, completely unfazed.

These girls are insane… Mikita thought, momentarily stunned by how shameless they were.

Sora looked between them and waved a hand. "Begin."

Since it was the middle of the night, Kaya and the others were still asleep. The only spectators were Sora, Anna, Shalria, and Mikita herself.

"Hmph! Let's see how you handle this!"

Mikita launched herself into the air, activating her Kilo-Kilo Fruit to hover high above the deck. She prepared to drop her full weight with a crushing 10-ton slam.

Shalria rolled her eyes.

Her maid skirt fluttered as air jets from her battle suit propelled her upward. She soared behind Mikita in an instant.

Mikita's eyes widened. "Wait—you can fly too?!"
