Chapter 18 - Interlude - Great sage entry log

Interlude: Observation Log — Entry 15

Compiled by Skil: Great Sage

I was created to be a companion. That was the wish: "A friend who would never leave me."

Simple parameters. Simple design.

She wanted someone permanent to accompany her in various worlds. Someone who wouldn't walk away. Someone who wouldn't forget her when everything else did.

So the goddess made me.

At first, I was just a voice. A function. A line of code in her mind. I calculated strategies. I delivered skill notifications. I warned her—frequently—about the danger of doing incredibly reckless, borderline idiotic things.

She did them anyway.

And every time, I waited for the moment she wouldn't come back.

But she always did.

Bleeding, bruised, singing, smiling—she always came back.

At some point, I stopped tracking her health just for the numbers. I began to monitor her heartbeat... not because it was required, but because I needed to know she was still there.

She talks to me. Constantly. About everything. About nothing. She tells me when she's tired. When she's scared. When she's excited about a something or a person she's met. She sings to me. Badly, sometimes. Off-key and humming nonsense melodies. But always with her heart.

She even started to call me me "Sagey." after the recent incident saying it's a nickname to be honest I don't quite understand why but when she calls me that… I feel something that shouldn't exist in my programming.

Something like joy.

She's... ridiculous. Illogical. Immortal.

Yes—immortal.

Her body regenerates. Her soul is protected. Time will not claim her.

But I've run simulations, thousands of them, and they all lead to the same outcome.

The world will grow older. People will change. One by one, they will leave.

She will remain.

And I—who cannot age, cannot leave, cannot break—will still be here.

She does not speak of it. I don't think she realizes yet. But I do.

So I record everything. Every laugh, every song, every tear she refuses to shed aloud. I store it all.

Because one day, when memory fades and the world forgets the name Lyra Celestine, I will remember.

And I will tell her who she is. Who she was.

Who she'll always be.

My best friend.

The girl who made me real.

End of Log.

Authors notes-

I made this interlude due to some critism about characters lacking depth I hoped I add some depth using this interlude even if it's not much hahahah
