Chapter 8 - Harsh Training

Next Day

Naruto got bathed, then ate a quick breakfast—some rice balls and leftover grilled fish from the night before. After cleaning up, he grabbed his gear and headed out, the morning sun barely peeking over the rooftops of Konoha.

The village was peaceful this early, only a few vendors setting up their stalls and a couple of early joggers moving about.

Naruto made his way to the park where he trained with Lee and Gai-sensei. The air was crisp, the grass still damp with morning dew.

'Man, I love this time of day. Feels like the whole world belongs to me,' he thought, smiling.

When he arrived, he found Lee already doing handstand push-ups—one-armed, no less—with a giant boulder strapped to his back.

"Good morning, Naruto!" Lee called out with that ever-burning passion in his voice.

"Morning, Lee!" Naruto replied, waving.

A second later, a familiar blur of green appeared behind him.

"Ah, Naruto! The fire of youth burns brightly in your eyes today!" Gai-sensei declared, his teeth flashing with that iconic sparkle.

Naruto laughed. "Yeah, I'm ready. Let's get it!"

Gai-sensei gave a hearty nod. "Today, we'll begin with refining your physical condition further, and tomorrow... we begin your journey into the sacred art of Taijutsu!"

Naruto's eyes lit up. 'Let's gooo!'

They started with basic drills—sprints, squats, push-ups, core training—but it was brutal. Gai and Lee didn't hold back. By the time two hours passed, Naruto's clothes were drenched in sweat, his body screaming at him to stop.

But he didn't.

He pushed through every rep, every lap, matching Lee's insane pace as best as he could.

After the first round, Gai gathered them.

"Now, to test your limits even further—tree climbing with weighted vests!" Gai announced, pulling out two massive vests from seemingly nowhere.

Naruto grabbed one, strapping it on without hesitation.

'Damn, this thing feels like a ton!'

They sprinted at the trees, running up the bark vertically. Naruto stumbled a few times but quickly found his rhythm using his chakra control training. His chakra usage had gotten much cleaner since that ceiling walking practice, and it showed.

An hour later, Naruto collapsed face-first onto the ground, too tired to even move.

Lee collapsed right beside him, grinning.

"Good work, Naruto!" Lee said between heavy breaths.

Naruto managed a weak thumbs-up before the world went dark.

When he woke up, he was lying on his bed, the soft breeze from the open window cooling his sweaty body. The sky outside was already glowing orange with the sunset.

He sat up slowly.

'My body... doesn't hurt like before.'

Sure, he was still tired, but the sharp pain he'd expected was missing. His muscles felt sore but not destroyed. His recovery rate was ridiculous.

'Bro, imagine if Kishimoto actually abused Naruto's healing factor. He'd be an absolute monster by now,' Naruto thought with a chuckle.

He stood up and stretched, feeling a satisfying pop in his joints.

Glancing at the clock, he realized a whole day had practically passed.

'Man, I genuinely forgot about my training schedule. But whatever, I've been killing it. I've already done three of the steps so far, so I'm still good. I'll focus on mastering them first, and once the months pass, I'll start expanding into new stuff. ' he planned mentally.

With his goals refreshed in his mind, Naruto headed to the bathroom to take a quick shower, the cold water washing away the lingering exhaustion.

After getting dressed, he sat at his desk with a notebook he recently bought.

On the first page, he scribbled:

Naruto's Training Plan

• Physical Strength (Body Conditioning) — Ongoing

• Chakra Control (Tree walking, Ceiling walking) — Half Mastery

• Chakra Strength Enhancement — Beginner

• Taijutsu Basics (Start tomorrow with Gai-sensei)

• Meditation and Chakra Sensing — Needs work

• Future goals: Kenjutsu (Find a way), More Wind Style Jutsu, Battle Experience

He tapped the pen against the paper.

'Slow and steady. Stronger every day.'

This would be his progress report, which he would update everyday. Naruto was really serious in seeing how much he grows.

His stomach growled loudly again.

Naruto laughed to himself, got up, and made some dinner. Rice, eggs, and miso soup. Simple but enough to refill his energy.

After eating, he stepped outside to the rooftop, sitting with his arms behind his head, staring up at the night sky.

The stars twinkled brightly, the air was cool, and for once... Naruto felt at peace.

'I'm gonna change everything. Just watch me,' he thought, a fierce fire burning in his chest.

Tomorrow would be another big day—and Naruto couldn't wait.

....

Monday

Morning went pretty normal, Naruto trained with Lee and Gai, then he needed to go to school. So he went back home and bathed before leaving.

Naruto headed to the Academy.

As soon as he stepped onto the school grounds, he found Kiba and his little crew of loudmouths waiting at the entrance, smirking like they had something to prove.

Naruto didn't even break stride.

He walked past them, silent and relaxed, not sparing them a glance. The wind ruffled his clothes, and it was like he didn't even register their existence.

It pissed Kiba off to no end.

Inside the classroom, Naruto slid into the seat beside Hinata. She looked up with a small, surprised smile.

Today, she didn't flinch as much. She didn't squeak. She actually smiled.

'Progress.'

"Hey," he said with a grin.

She nodded. "Good morning… Naruto-kun."

Her voice was quiet, but confident. Compared to yesterday, it was a breakthrough.

Naruto leaned back in his chair, satisfied. The work was paying off—and this was just the beginning.
