Chapter 6 - Preparation.

[Outer Space]

I ducked under Mark's punch and uppercutted him. He flipped around but regained his balance quickly, he flew down and tried to grab me. I quickly moved and used my telekinesis to simulate the force of me punching him in the gut.

He spit up some saliva that immediately froze. He clenched his fists in frustration and charged at me again. I slipped under his right hook and hit him in the ribs. I followed up with a two-piece to the face and finally punched him in the nose, sending him flying back.

He flew back for a while until he caught himself. The blood coming from his nose was frozen on his face and his frustration only got worse.

'You're gonna have to do better than that if you wanna be a good hero Mark. Stop holding back so much, next time you attack me fight like you're trying to kill.' I thought to him as I got into my fighting stance. I learned I could copy information, so I copied my father and a few other martial artists. I still have to practice the maneuvers but the information being copied into my mind gives me an easier time.

Mark flew at me faster than ever before and was priming his fist. I put my arms up to block his attack, and once it made contact with my arms, it felt like a train had just hit me.

Mark kept punching my arms trying to break my guard. I stopped blocking and narrowly dodged his punch, leaving a small cut on my cheek. I grabbed his extended arm and threw him behind me. As he flipped in zero gravity, I followed up with a punch to his face. Before he could fly away I grabbed his leg and threw him.

He quickly recovered and had blood leaking from his mouth. Even though he couldn't pant, I could tell he was exhausted. We've been sparring for three hours straight after all.

'How about we call it a day? Me ruthlessly beating your ass isn't very fun.' I thought which made him mad.

'Argh! Shut up!' He flew at me fast enough to cover the 100-meter distance between us within the blink of an eye! I can't bring my arms up fast enough!

His fist slammed into my face with more force than I've ever experienced in my life. I flipped and flipped through the vacuum of space until I caught myself. His punch broke my jaw but it quickly healed. I could barely restrain my anger, that fucker broke my jaw!

I looked at him and he flinched in fear, 'Hey, you were the one who said to stop holding back!' He thought to me as he raised his hands in defense.

Tch, he wasn't wrong. My anger quickly subsided and I rolled my eyes, 'I should really pummel you for breaking my jaw! Be happy my healing factor is so broken! Now let's head back down, I've got some business to attend to.'

I flew back down to Earth and Mark followed closely behind me. Once we were above Chicago, I branched off toward the more affluent side of the city. After a few seconds, I found myself above a luxurious manor.

Stark Manor. I scanned the place and found Tony Stark in the basement. I mentally camouflaged myself and walked right past all of his staff. I arrived at the front door to the basement and it was hidden behind a large steel door. A quick fix, I scanned Tony's mind for the code and put it in.

05028002. Once I was in, he quickly turned his head.

"Hey there!" I waved my hand in greeting but he wasn't too happy to see me. He aimed a rudimentary repulsor at me. It wasn't even integrated into his suit it was in the form of a gun.

"How'd you get in here?!" He yelled. I was about to take a step forward but his finger moved down to the trigger, "Don't fucking move! Answer my goddamn question!"

"You know that little gun won't even scratch me right?" I asked as I took a step forward anyway and he fired his repulsor gun. The beam hit me in my face but I felt nothing.

"You know most people don't aim guns at heroes, let alone shoot them." I said with a shrug. Tony fired another repulsor beam at me something I dodged with ease. He unloaded the entire clip and I dodged every single shot without moving my feet.

"You done yet? I'm sure the reason I'm here is of much interest to you." Tony looked more annoyed than angry now. He put his gun down and sighed, "What do you want with me then? What does the daughter of the most powerful superhero need from a measly rich kid?"

"Ah, ah, ah, you're not just some measly rich kid," I walked over and tapped his head with a smile, "You're a genius rich kid."

I heard his heart start to palpitate and his cheeks got flush.

'Damn, she's hot!'

"Ah, t-thank you." He said with a severe stutter and he couldn't keep eye contact. This is so fun!

"Now onto the reason why I'm here," I sat on his desk and crossed my legs, "I have some metal I want you to help me forge and create some tech with."

His eyes widened a little, "What kind of metal? I'm sure someone with your strength can melt and bend whatever metal you want."

"Vibranium." Tony's eyes nearly popped out of his head.

"VIBRANIUM?!" He yelled as he stood up out of his chair in shock. I nodded my head, "And a shit ton of it. You and another person I've yet to speak to are the best people I can think of for this job."

"How in the world did you manage to even SEE Vibranium, let alone obtain some?! Did you steal it from the Wakandans?"

I shook my head with a laugh, "No, no. I flew into space and found some in the asteroid belt. I'd say there's enough to last us for a few thousand years."

Tony sat back down and looked dazed. He had a stupid grin on his face so I knew he wanted to work with me, plus I read his mind.

"I-I would be honored! What kind of tech do you have in mind?"

I smiled, "Think Techjacket, but one thousand times better." I put my index finger on his head and transferred the Mark suits into his head minus the fact that I got them from an alternate version of him.

"T-This is revolutionary! I can't believe I never thought of that! When do we start?!" Tony was incredibly excited he couldn't even finish a sentence.

"I'll let you know. I have to go make contact with our other partner, you may know him you two are rivals after all." Immediately Tony's expression dropped.

"Don't tell me it's that loser, Bruce Banner…"

I laughed and made finger guns, "Bingo! C'ya later Tony Stark!"

I flew out of his basement and made my way to the south side of Chicago. It's crazy how two geniuses are born in two different environments. I found myself floating above a dilapidated apartment. I flew in through Bruce's window, he was distracted doing some equation or whatever these nerds do.

I tapped him on the shoulder and green energy arced out of his arm. He already had his gamma accident?! I dodged a bolt of gamma energy and quickly put my hands up in defense.

"Wait, wait! I come in peace!" I yelled and he narrowed his eyes, "Who are you?!"

I tilted my head in confusion. He doesn't know who I am? I was in my hero costume, I thought I was pretty popular guess not.

"I'm Phoenix. The daughter of Omni-Man and sister to [Title Card]." He quickly calmed down and then realised his mistake.

"I AM SO SORRY! YOU CAUGHT ME AT A BAD TIME AND-" I put my hand up to shut him up.

"It's alright dude. I'm here to ask for your help." I said and repeated what I did on Tony to him. His eyes rolled to the back of his head and he was seriously astonished.

"V-Vibranium?! I-I don't think I'm qualified enough to work with such a rare and powerful metal!" Bruce stuttered but I could feel his excitement.

"I know you have what it takes…unless Tony Stark is better than you?" When I said those words, green energy arced throughout his body. His eyes turned green and he almost turned into the Hulk.

"TONY NOT BETTER THAN BANNER OR HULK!!" Hulk or Banner yelled in anger. I smiled and flew out of his window, "Alright then! I'll let you know whenever I need you!"

With my pieces in place, I can finally begin my defense plans.
