Chapter 5 - The Lebex

Unnoticed by the preoccupied Dreizack, Leben seized the opportunity to slip away, disappearing into the brewing stand.

He was hastily assessing available ingredients, his trembling hands skimming over the various concoctions as beads of perspiration formed on his brow, his fears mounting in his heart

He found a medium sized cauldron just below the brewing stand, he took it to use for his concoction.

He then took a few liter of water and some suspicious looking black and red liquid from the cabinet located on his side.

Leben carefully poured water into the cauldron, followed by the enigmatic, dark red liquid.

Swiftly, he scooped up the Mushyr, its peculiar blue hue, to mix with the concoction.

The Mushyr has an ability to blend in with any ingredients it is added with, thus that makes the Mushyr the most important ingredients in any concoctions, due to its ability to blend in.

He also incorporated Greyratyr, a spiky-petaled plant famed for calming temperaments, despite its sinister appearance.

Though renowned, few had dared to consume it due to its suspicious demeanor, a curious individual once perishing from its consumption despite the absence of anger within him, solely out of sheer curiosity.

One might call it stupidity, but I call it [Peak Curiosity], he was a brave man, a brave man is rewarded with [Peak Bravery.]

Leben subsequently added additional components, among them the enigmatic Haineuxine, a spiked apple bearing the name of the renowned Angel of Mysticism himself, Leben.

First discovered in the country of Atya by a devout alchemist and ardent admirer of Leben.

Atya is a small country located in the east side of the country of Tankoa. Atya is surrounded by treacherous mountain ranges. They are a country which prioritized on its economy and its people's happiness.

He also poured a diminutive droplet of Piantu, an alcoholic beverage renowned in the country in the west of the country he's standing on Tankoa, the country is named Maesmarith, the alcohol possessed a sweet scent yet a robust and bitter flavor.

Its fragrance carried nuances akin to the petal of the Bitsine flower, a plant possessing an entrancing scent yet lethal upon contact with living beings.

It was said in the country of Niyaba, located in the south of Tankoa, that there was a deadly disease before that devastated the land, and was probably caused by the petals of Bitsine flower, and was said to kill half of the population.

He combined and stirred all the ingredients together, mixing them carefully and precisely with each other.

Then, he let the ingredients boil, making sure that it doesn't explode, or worse, get corrupted.

Within a mere eight minutes and a few seconds, Leben had successfully concocted the potion, a potent concoction, though its effects masked by a deceptive tranquility, silently inflicting pain within, the result of the incorporation of Greyratyr and the Mushyr.

He pondered momentarily over naming his newly created concoction, and a name came to mind – "Lebex."

Albeit, he conceded, it was a somewhat foolish moniker. Perhaps, if he had improved his naming skills, a more appropriate title would have been given to the potion.

"The Lebex. Named by THE Leben Haineux." He spoke proudly, momentarily forgetting about the ongoing battle. "Anyways, what..."

SPLISHHH!

Seele was sent flying by Dreizack's attack, the intensity of his hatred evident in his gaze.

"I've HAD ENOUGH!"

Dreizack yelled, his tone had pure anger in it, he was done fooling with her around.

...

"I momentarily forgot about that devil..."

He exhaled, expressing frustration at the interruption of his moment of brilliance.

"If I don't aid this E.D.M. in slaying that demonic being, my head would be their ultimate objective."

Leben gingerly placed the recently blended concoction into a flask found in the desk, securing it safely for future use.

He carefully selected several potions to use against Dreizack, stealthily sneaking closer with plans to throw a vial into his mouth.

"If only I still possessed my original power, this would be effortless. But, it seems that the virtues are currently beyond my grasp..."

...

Dreizack strode with vehement anger towards the fallen but conscious Seele, his face still marred by wrath.

"Insolent mortal woman, you've incited my anger to unprecedented heights, and for this, you shall suffer."

Seele spoke softly, each word tinged with pain from Dreizack's blows, but her tone held a hint of resignation.

"Suffer" she murmured, her voice carrying a weary acceptance. "I've endured worse, but perhaps this could bring an end to it all."

Her eyes closed, ready to accept the trident's lethal strike, only to sense Leben's presence. She looked towards him and saw his wide grin. It was a smile of satisfaction, as he watched Dreizack's attention focused entirely on her.

Dreizack raised his trident preparing for the final stroke. But, instead of a sickening crunch of flesh...

CHKLING!

The sound that filled the air was not that of tearing flesh but rather the shattering of glass. It was Leben who had launched a potion-filled flask at Dreizack, filled with the concoction - Lebex.

The potion coursed through his veins, causing an unforeseen reaction within him. Unaware of its true nature, Dreizack's expression shifted from anger to an eerie calmness.

"What. What..."

The word reverberated through his mind, a realization forming. He could feel himself growing weaker, his anger diminishing with every passing moment, transforming into a bizarre state of calmness.

A searing pain coursed through his body as he began to bleed. His vision turned red, a curtain of pain descending.

Leben stood before him, a malevolent smirk on his face, the triumph of his plan evident in the wicked gleam in his eyes.

"Hurts, doesn't it? I know it does."

Leben's voice dripped with a smug

Dreizack fell to the ground, his body consumed by the excruciating agony caused by the potion, now coursing through his veins.

Leben towered over him, watching with satisfaction and a tinge of condescension.

Seele observed the unfolding scene, her expression mirroring a mix of shock and discomfort. Despite her awareness that Dreizack was a devil, she couldn't help but feel a sense of horror at the agonizing scene before her.

Leben glanced back at Seele, a smug smile playing at the corner of his lips.

"Take a look, Captain."

His tone was tinged with sarcasm, the word 'Captain' spoken with a hint of mockery.

"It couldn't have been eas-"

His words halted abruptly as a trident pierced him from behind.

SHLICK!

His smugness disappeared, replaced by a sudden jolt of pain. The trident had found its mark, penetrating his body with a ruthless precision, the weapon's cold, metallic blade piercing his flesh.

HISS!

He let out a pained gasp, his body instinctively reacting to the deep wound inflicted by the trident.

Leben stared at Dreizack, his expression a mix of pain and bitterness.

"You insufferable son of the devil..."

His words came out as a low murmur, his voice laced with a hint of disdain as he assessed the state of his wounded adversary.

GHAAA!

Dreizack brutally pierced his trident deeper into Leben's body, causing him to erupt in a howl of agony.

The intense pain overwhelmed Leben, his whole body seizing in torment as the trident delved deeper into his flesh.

Dreizack's face bore a sinister smile as he relished the pain he inflicted on Leben.

"Hurts, doesn't it? I know it does."

His voice dripped with sadistic glee, his words carrying a hint of sadistic pleasure as he taunted Leben, who lay writhing in agony from the wound inflicted by the trident.

Dreizack yanked the trident free from Lebens body, throwing him aside with a rough motion.

THUD!

Leben slammed against the wall forcefully, the impact jarring his body and causing him to cry out in pain.

"You, stirring this maelstrom of conflicting emotions within me—anger, hatred, intrigue, excitement, even an unexpected brush with my own mortality."

Leben's words hung in the air, his gaze fixed on Dreizack with a complex mix of intensity and contemplation.

Leben's face twisted into an expression of revulsion at Dreizack's words, but he pushed aside the unsettling feeling and posed a question that lingered in his mind.

"Why me? Why have you been relentlessly pursuing me? What purpose does it serve to chase me with such relentless determination?"

Dreizack's sinister grin returned, its menacing presence sending a chill down Leben's spine.

"Oh, it's not just you we're after... We're tracking the six other individuals who were deeply involved in instigating another rebellion in Heaven."

Leben's memory flashed back to a conversation with Archangel Michael, his mind filled with the recollection of the archangel's words.

'I remember what that bastard said. Those six other imbeciles were also thrown into this shitty rotten realm.'

His thoughts raced as a realization dawned upon him, a connection made between the information and his current situation.

Leben snapped out of his recollections and fixed Dreizack with a steely glare, his curiosity piqued.

"I must ask, were you able to ensnare those other six individuals? Are they now under your dominion, or are they still eluding your grasp?"

Dreizack's sinister grin deflated, replaced by a moment of contemplation. He responded in a matter-of-fact tone.

"No, those six have proven to be quite troublesome. Some have linked themselves with a resilient organization, whereas others... well, they're simply too powerful for us to handle."
