Chapter 128 - Winni, The Winter Knight Part 2

"Then… Let me begin…" The grandma looked up at the helmet of the armor that was standing in front of her.

Cineris followed her gaze and looked up at the glimmering armor. Its beauty was shining and unavoidable

Everything began one thousand eighteen years ago, in the northern part of Northern Rode. There once was a village named Ara. It shouldn't ever be called a village; it was more similar to a fortress, a winter fortress that resided in the permanent winter lands.

Every day, that land was tormented by monsters. No time of the day was spared from their attempts of siege, yet the knights named Winter Knights prevailed there. For over four hundred years that village existed, when one day a girl named Winni had been born to parents named Vince and Niia. They had been an average family, a gatherer family.

That girl showed a boundless potential for swordsmanship, her breathtaking potential surpassing every single Winter Knight that existed till that day; no one could come close to her. And with that, fifteen years had passed.

Since she could train, she relentlessly held onto the sword from morning to evening; she had dedicated her life to the sword.

Once she had reached the age of fifteen, she said her farewell to her parents and built her own raft—big enough to practice swordsmanship—and got on it, leaving her life to the violent currents of the northern sea.

The northern sea current took her far and wide. Hunting fish and drinking rainwater, she lasted for over a year in that life. And at the age of sixteen, she reached the inner sea of the continent, where memories that weren't hers told her that there a previous dragon king's skeleton lay, its length surpassed the size of a large country, and its height reached beyond the perception of human eye.

As Winni floated towards it, her memories kept whispering to her that if she got into the jaw of the previous Dragon king, the mana situated there would transport her into a place she needed to be the most in.

Trusting her own instincts, she jumped out of the raft and swam into it, immediately disappearing as a golden glow engulfed her, sending her somewhere deep into the continent.

And from there she found herself in what now we call the Luvr empire… where once stood the Deluvr empire, a place where demon kind gathered and lived.

She traveled far and wide through the Deluvr empire, as its size was twice of the current Luvr empire.

For five years she faced many adversaries. Of the most noteworthy was: elf king, fairy queen, Paru Marende, past first member of the great twelve and current dragon king who barely came out alive.

At the age of twenty, she met the demon king. Fascinated with his strength, she challenged him to a duel. He, seeing her unparalleled potential that was far past his, set one condition: that if she would lose she would've served him; also, if he had lost, she'd had the right to cut his head off his neck.

And so the duel commenced. It took seven days and seven nights to finish, and the Demon king came on top. As our Lady was righteous and always kept her word, she began serving him as the one of four heavenly generals.

And so she helped him for ten years to conquer the world. In the meantime, she had surpassed his strengths greatly, but he succumbed to the 'Hero' who became the first emperor of Luvr, who rose on ashes of the Deluvr empire.

Seeing that she had nothing to do with them anymore, she had traveled back to this peninsula, which we now call the winter peninsula. And she, The Winter Knight, who took the name upon in celebration of her village, had settled in those lands as throughout her life she had suffered from a devious illness.

The one that kept deteriorating her soul, as she stated that this illness is similar to 'that' monster attacks, that aimed at the soul.

And people now call this illness White Death, for who knows reason.

And for the ten years she lived in this village with us, as we served her passionately, ultimately succumbing to her death. And so we wept and buried her in a sacred place.

And the following day, the land had succumbed to the permanent winter, the same as her hometown had. And so we began to try to revive her so that we can serve her yet again. And this was, to the best of our abilities, a preserved story of our Master, Winni The greatest Winter Knight life.
