"Is this... a Devil Fruit?"
Kaido caught the fruit Bob threw over and, upon closer inspection, his expression turned to one of shock.
Although he had never seen one in person, he knew their appearance was distinctly different from other fruits. Devil Fruits were marked by strange patterns, and Kaido recognized it immediately, though he couldn't tell what type it was.
"Yes, it's a Devil Fruit. Consider it a welcome gift for joining my crew. It's yours now!"
Bob propelled his chin on his hand, a slight smile playing on his lips as he spoke.
Earlier, when Bob had seen this fruit in the hold of the ship carrying the Celestial Tribute, he had felt a momentary urge to consume it himself, but he quickly dismissed the idea.
Bob knew he had inherited Saitama's physique. If he continued training along the normal timeline, he would inevitably become invincible.
Thus, this Devil Fruit held little significance for him.
The reason he hadn't given it to Kaido the first time was because it was simple he wanted to see if Kaido would actually join. If Kaido joined, then giving him the Devil Fruit would be the best choice. But if he didn't, Bob could certainly utilize the generous offer to give it away for free and make kaido indebted to him.
After all, even if he sold it, it would fetch billions of Berries.
"Holy crap, Bob! Are you really going to give it away for free?"
Kaido thought he must have misheard Bob and repeated the question to confirm.
In Kaido's mind, Devil Fruits were rare treasures. Some people spent their entire lives at sea without ever seeing one. They were the kind of thing people would fight tooth and nail over.
But in Bob's eyes, it seemed like a mere toy, something he could give away so casually. This made Kaido feel like it wasn't real.
"Look at you, getting all worked up over a Devil Fruit! It's just a fruit no need to make a big deal out of it!"
"Kaido, work hard in my crew, and I'll make sure you live the good life!"
Bob's expression was completely nonchalant. To Kaido, Bob seemed larger than life, almost glowing in the sunlight.
Suddenly, a thought occurred to Kaido, and his eyes flickered as he spoke up.
"Do you know what type of Devil Fruit this is?"
Devil Fruits came in many varieties. While most could greatly enhance the user's abilities, some were practically useless, offering little strength and leaving the user with a weakness to seawater.
At this thought, Kaido's expression shifted slightly, and he began to suspect that Bob might be palming off a worthless fruit on him.
"Damn it! Don't tell me it's just a trash fruit!"
"This is the Fish-Fish Fruit, Model: Azure Dragon!"
"Once you fully develop it, you can transform into a dragon! You'll even be able to control the wind and rain!"
"It's the perfect fit for you!"
Bob could see the doubt in Kaido's eyes and smacked him on the head, speaking with a hint of annoyance.
Decades later, Kaido, having consumed the Fish-Fish Fruit, would be known as the strongest creature and this proved that the fruit had a massive impact on Kaido's strength.
It also showed that, under Kaido's use, the fruit had been fully developed. Saying it was the perfect fit for Kaido wasn't an exaggeration in the slightest.
"So, is it truly a fruit with immense potential?"
"Wait... How do you know all this so clearly?"
"And... where did you get this fruit from?"
Upon hearing Bob's description, Kaido's eyes lit up as he gazed at the Devil Fruit in his hand, growing fonder of it by the second, unable to suppress the smile forming on his lips.
After all, the competition for a good fruit is always fierce.
However, Kaido's expression shifted slightly, pausing as he thought of a crucial question.
How did Bob obtain this fruit, and why does he know so much about it, even understanding that it can transform into a dragon and control the weather after awakening?
"Tch, why so many questions?"
"Just tell me, do you want it or not?"
Bob, growing a bit impatient, rolled his eyes and directly changed the subject.
'It's not like I can tell you I've read the One Piece manga!'
Hearing this, Kaido immediately replied, "Of course, I want it!"
"Then take it and stop overthinking!"
"Focus on improving your strength, and strive to defeat me one day!"
Bob, regaining his calm demeanor, yawned and spoke slowly.
"Huh..."
"Aren't you afraid that after I eat this fruit, I'll just crush you to the ground?"
Kaido, looking at Bob, lowered his voice and spoke slowly. He was puzzled. Such a powerful fruit, and Bob was letting him eat it. Wasn't he afraid that after his strength skyrocketed, he would defeat him and take over as commander?
Or perhaps... Bob was so confident in his own strength that he wasn't afraid of any of this.
Looking at Bob's indifferent expression, Kaido seriously thought that this was very likely.
However, under this thought, Kaido not only didn't feel any intention to retreat but became even more eager to defeat Bob.
'Because only such an opponent is worth going all out for! 'Him! I look forward to your performance!'
Bob didn't take Kaido's words to heart at all, casually responding before shifting his gaze to the distance, not continuing the conversation.
In the distance, the sun was about to set, its afterglow shining on the sea, resembling a picturesque scene.
"Judging by the time, the we should meet the Rocks Pirates ship soon, right?"
