Ryan pressed the accelerator pedal almost to the floor, speeding through the torrential rain and howling winds.
Despite the relentless gales outside, the rainwater pouring in diminished as the car's speed increased.
Ryan had nearly reached his destination earlier. He would reach the Regent Business Tower if he maintained a straight path.
"You have to hold on, don't break, don't break!"
Ryan accelerated while cautiously keeping an eye on the road sign on the windshield, fearing that it would shatter under the pressure.
But as fate would have it, his wishes didn't come true.
Just as he muttered those words, he suddenly heard a dismal creaking sound from the bottom of the windshield, and it looked like it was about to crack.
Ryan's pupils contracted sharply, and he hastily began to slow down, then reached out to brace the road sign, trying to push it away.
But whether it was due to the weight of the sign or the influence of the strong winds outside, Ryan couldn't budge it an inch despite several attempts.
Ryan sighed, realizing he couldn't continue driving like this.
Otherwise, once the windshield was completely shattered, he would either be impaled by the road sign or crushed by it.
Ryan stopped the car, not bothering to open the door, but instead crawled to the backseat to retrieve a large umbrella.
Although it wouldn't have much effect under such wind speed, it was better than nothing.
As for the remaining guns, Ryan thought about it and decided to carry one on his back just in case.
In such weather conditions, the white wolf would definitely not be able to chase him.
But he didn't know if this damn game would suddenly conjure up a crocodile in the water for him, so he had to be on guard.
After strapping on an assault rifle, Ryan decided to leave the lifebuoy behind; it would be useless in such strong winds.
Thud!
Just as Ryan was about to push open the car door with the umbrella in hand, he heard a loud crash from the front of the car.
When he turned to look, he saw that the windshield glass had finally given way and shattered.
The road sign had also crashed in, piercing the driver's seat about seven or eight centimeters deep.
Ryan couldn't help but feel a little scared. He was glad he had acted decisively; otherwise, he would have been seriously injured or even killed by now.
He took a deep breath, glanced at the storm outside, and immediately pushed open the car door.
OOPS!
A strong wind swept in.
As Ryan was about to step out, the wind slammed the door shut.
Fortunately, he hadn't lifted his leg yet; otherwise, his leg might have been pinched.
Ryan was a bit speechless. This time, he used all his strength to push open the door and quickly jumped out of the car.
The door slammed shut again, and as soon as Ryan's feet hit the water, he was instantly pushed back several steps by the powerful wind, barely managing to steady himself by grabbing the door handle.
Ryan hadn't expected the wind to be so fierce. Despite his height of 181 centimeters and weight of around 160-180 pounds, he couldn't stand steady.
And while he couldn't feel the weight of the raindrops inside the car, once outside, it felt more like being slapped repeatedly in the face, causing a stinging pain.
Ryan hurriedly lowered his head, trying to open the umbrella to shield himself from the wind and rain. After a struggle, he finally managed to open it, but another gust of wind swept in, and he lost his grip, causing the umbrella to fly away.
In the blink of an eye, the umbrella flew into the sky and disappeared without a trace.
Ryan looked at the flying umbrella, his anger reaching its peak. He was really in a mess now in the strong wind and heavy rain.
For a moment, Ryan was stunned, but he was quickly brought back to reality by the heavy raindrops pelting him.
He cursed under his breath, gritted his teeth, lowered his head, and waded through the one-meter-deep water toward the Regent Business Tower.
But Ryan was walking against the wind and in water, slowing his progress.
For every ten meters he advanced, he would be blown back five or six meters by the gusts.
It took him more than ten minutes to walk the 50-meter distance, yet he was still one or two hundred meters away from Regent Business Tower.
At this moment, thunder and lightning became more frequent in the sky, and the wind and rain intensified, as if adding to the chaos.
There were no buildings along this road for Ryan to shelter from the storm. He could only rest briefly by hugging a lamppost when he got tired, looking exceptionally disheveled.
The more disheveled he became, the more his defiant spirit was ignited.
"The harder you try to kill me, the more determined I am to survive!"
Taking advantage of the brief illumination from the lightning, Ryan charged hard toward the towering building ahead.
Ryan's eyes were fixed on his target, and he didn't know how long he had been running, but he gradually found it more difficult and tiring.
At this point, the wind was getting stronger, and several large trees had been blown down along the road.
Leaves, iron sheets, trash cans, stones, and all sorts of debris were being swept into the air. Iron sheets and stones crashed into walls, making clattering sounds.
Ryan's heart suddenly pounded as he heard the sounds of objects hitting the walls, indicating that he was getting closer to the buildings.
He looked up and saw, across the road, the bamboo-shaped skyscraper, the Regent Business Tower.
"I made it!"
Seeing his goal within reach, Ryan, whose energy had been drained, suddenly found a new surge of strength, propelling him to sprint towards the entrance of the Regent Business Tower.
When he reached the entrance, the breath that had been sustaining him suddenly vanished, and he collapsed to the ground, gasping for air.
If he hadn't been wise enough to exercise regularly over the past half-month, he probably wouldn't have had the strength to make it here.
Now that he was under the building, most of the wind and rain were blocked, allowing Ryan to finally catch his breath.
His face was a mix of sweat and rainwater, which slid into his eyes and mouth, causing discomfort, but he felt a sense of relief at having survived.
Ryan lay sprawled on the ground, watching as the cars partially submerged in water in front of the building began to sway violently in the strong wind and were blown toward the center of the road.
He knew the wind must have reached Category 9 or even Category 10 typhoon strength.
It had truly been a race against death. If he had arrived a moment later, he would have been blown away by the typhoon, and his survival would have been left to fate.
After lying on the cold ground for a few minutes and feeling a bit of his strength return, Ryan decided to find a more comfortable place to rest inside.
He struggled to his feet, walked to the entrance of the Regent Business Tower, and pushed open the door, striding inside.
As soon as he entered, the sounds of the wind and rain outside were instantly muffled, and the world seemed to fall silent instantly.
He took a deep breath and immediately headed towards the yacht sales area on the first floor to the right.
