Chapter 235 - Do you have a license?

Chapter 235 - Do you have a license?

Over the next few days, Roy helped Kaito regulate his body, allowing the Last Samurai to slowly recover his health.

Of course, Roy also gained a few benefits from Kaito.

In addition to the 20,000 Dimensional Points he received for saving a key character, he also learned the power of the Ayatsuji Itto-ryu.

The most quintessential technique was the secret art known as Markless.

This is a technique that turns defense into offense, striking the opponent in the gap between perception and reaction. It involves masking one's breath and intent so perfectly that the strike becomes invisible to the opponent's senses until it is too late.

With his ability, Roy deconstructed and learned the technique effortlessly.

This depressed Kaito for a while. He had only intended to spar with Roy, but the boy had copied his life's work in an instant.

He had planned to teach Roy these secrets after he became his son-in-law, using the techniques as a dowry of sorts.

However, Kaito was also relieved to see Roy display Markless. It meant his swordsmanship would not die out.

The fear of his legacy being lost after his defeat by Kuraudo had haunted him, but now that worry was gone.

Freed from that burden, Kaito became even more active in trying to set up Roy and Ayase.

Every time he mentioned marriage, Ayase would nearly faint from shame and anger. If Kaito hadn't just been discharged from the hospital, Ayase might have beaten him back into a coma.

Aside from learning Markless, Roy spent his time analyzing the magic system of this world.

Roy was not a native of this world, so he couldn't naturally awaken a Device or use a Noble Art like a true Blazer.

In this world, magic is tied to an existence called Fate. It isn't a conscious law or an invisible force, but rather the gravity of the planet itself.

From the moment of birth, humans are endowed with power according to the weight of their Fate.

This power is magic.

Roy possessed immense mana power, but it was fundamentally different from the "

Fate-based magic of this world.

So, Roy decided to try his experiment.

Using his skills Omniscient and Magic Ring, he began to analyze the ambient magic of the world.

His goal was to convert his own mana, changing its attributes to mimic the Fate of this world.

By deceiving the world into thinking he was a native, he hoped to awaken his own Device.

It was a challenging theory. However, magic is essentially energy transformed from vitality or soul.

As long as the origin is manipulated correctly, the conversion is possible.

After a few days of hard work, Roy felt a faint connection with the planet. It meant his direction was correct.

Even if he failed to awaken a Device, he still had the System to replicate others abilities, so it wasn't a total loss.

But having a Device of his own would be far more convenient.

Eventually, Roy obtained a letter of recommendation from Kaito.

Kaito was eager for Roy to enroll in Hagun Academy, hoping that spending time at school with Ayase would foster their relationship.

Hagun Academy was built on the outskirts of the city.

As one of the seven Mage-Knight academies in Japan, it covered a vast area of about 50 hectares.

After getting off at the station, Ayase led Roy up the mountain road.

Cherry blossom trees lined both sides of the path, their sakura petals falling like rain.

Ten minutes later, they arrived at the summit.

Hagun Academy sprawled out before them. The campus was filled with training grounds, forests, and lecture halls.

Since it was still technically vacation time, only a few scattered figures could be seen.

Dominating the view was the administration building, the only structure on campus that exceeded ten stories. The Chairwoman's office was on the top floor.

Taking the elevator up, the two stopped in front of a heavy door.

Knock, knock, knock.

"Come in."

A cold, mature female voice answered from inside.

"Excuse us."

Ayase opened the door and walked in with Roy.

The office was luxuriously furnished, with a bright yellow chandelier, expensive carpets, and polished furniture.

Behind a large desk sat a beautiful woman dressed in a sharp black suit.

Kurono Shinguuji.

She was the third-ranked Blazer in the world and the Chairwoman of Hagun Academy.

She looked up from her computer screen as they entered.

"Chairman, I am Ayase Ayatsuji, a second-year student," Ayase introduced herself nervously.

"Ayatsuji? That surname sounds familiar," Kurono pondered for a moment. "What do you want to see me for?"

"It's about this." Ayase explained the purpose of their visit and handed the letter of recommendation to Kurono.

"I see." Kurono nodded, finally placing the name.

"It's not easy to get a recommendation from Kaito Ayatsuji," Kurono said, looking at Roy with a faint smile.

She opened the letter and scanned it.

In Japan, where Bushido is still revered, the name of the Last Samurai carried weight. He was a warrior whose skill rivaled Blazers despite being an ordinary human.

A recommendation from him was significant.

After a moment, Kurono frowned slightly.

She placed the letter on the desk and looked at Roy with sharp, calculating eyes.

"The recommendation letter is fine," Kurono said, her voice dropping an octave. "But what about your Rank? Do you have a license?"
