Chapter 20 - LIGHT AND FLAME

Meanwhile...in other city of Limana.

[ALERT!! ALERT!!]

[MAIJU BREACH CONFIRMED!]

[CODE DESIGNATION: TYRANQUISITOR]

[MANATUDE LEVEL: 7.8]

[MANA BARRIER INTEGRITY: 49% … 48% … CRITICAL]

[LOCATION: SOUTHEAST QUADRANT – LIMANA KINGDOM, ALVEUNZLA CITY]

[ALL SORCERER UNITS – STANDBY FOR DEPLOYMENT]

[DATA STREAM – COMMAND RELAY]

[AUTHORIZING HIGH-TIER RESPONSE PROTOCOL]

[UNIT: HELLiARD]

[TITLE: RANK #2 SORCERER]

[ARCANE CLASSIFICATION: INFERNAUT]

[STATUS: DEPLOYMENT INITIATED…]

The skies over Alveunzla warped red as the holograms bled across the barrier towers. Soldiers squinted against the glare, their eyes reflecting system warnings. Below, the ground quaked again as the Tyranquisitor struck, its wings like obsidian tectonic plates tearing the clouds apart.

A distortion of heat shimmered on the watchtower. The broadcast feed glitched, static screaming, before stabilizing on a lone figure—cloak burning at the edges, a solar ring of flame orbiting him like a planetary crown.

Helliard.

---

Helliard (voice synced to the broadcast feed, tone cutting like a burning blade):

"Manatude 7.8… half the barrier gone.

If it breaks, this city is cinder.

I'll intercept."

---

[COMMANDER'S CHANNEL – SCRAMBLING AUDIO]

Captain:

"Sir Helliard—containment is impossible! That beast is—"

Helliard (interrupts, eyes flaring ember-red):

"Spare me your trembling. Fear doesn't hold lines. Fire does."

[HOLOGRAM FEED – THERMAL SPIKES DETECTED]

[ARCFLAME OUTPUT: RISING]

[SOLAR RING INTENSITY: 72% … 84% … 91%]

[WARNING: OVERHEAT THRESHOLD NEAR]

Helliard (voice drops, sharp, commanding):

"Evacuate the eastern districts. Any sorcerer still standing—feed the barrier until it shatters. After that… leave the rest to the Infernaut."

Captain (over comms, panicked):

"But sir, full release will—"

Helliard (grins, fire dancing in his teeth):

"Burn me alive? Let it try. Fire doesn't fear the ashes it leaves behind."

---

The barrier shrieked like breaking glass. Holographic runes flickered, collapsing in shards of mana-light. The Tyranquisitor broke through, its roar fracturing every comm feed.

[CRITICAL SYSTEM UPDATE]

[MANA BARRIER STATUS: OFFLINE]

[BREACH CONFIRMED – CITY EXPOSED]

[DEPLOYMENT PRIORITY: HELLiARD – ENGAGE]

Helliard raised his hand. The solar ring ignited—miniature suns circling him, gravitational fire humming against the void.

Helliard (roaring into both the beast and the broadcast feed):

"TYRANQUISITOR!! You've chosen the wrong city—

and the wrong sorcerer!"

---

[HOLOGRAPHIC OVERLAY – COMBAT ENGAGEMENT LOG]

[TECHNIQUE: ECLIPSE BURN – ONLINE]

[STATUS: LAUNCH SEQUENCE INITIATED]

A minutes later.. Light Sabre comes like flash

miniature suns, orbiting around Helliard like a crown of fire. His palm glowed with condensed Arcflame, a star ready to fall. The soldiers cowered below—knowing that if he unleashed his Eclipse Burn, the Tyranquisitor might fall, but so would their city.

The Maiju roared, its wings a furnace of molten black. It surged forward, claws outstretched, tearing apart the air itself. Helliard gritted his teeth, veins glowing white-hot.

Helliard (low, defiant):

"Come, beast… let us end this in fire."

He raised his hand—yet before the star could fly, the world split in brilliance.

A streak of golden light tore across the horizon, cutting through the flames like dawn breaking night. The shockwave alone forced the Tyranquisitor back a step. Soldiers shielded their eyes, squinting at the figure that landed between them and the Maiju.

A man in radiant armor of condensed photons. Golden-white steel shimmered with divine intensity. His very presence drowned out the firestorm.

Light, the Number One Sorcerer.

---

Helliard (snarling, voice cracking with heat):

"Light…? Why are you here?! This is my battle—"

Light (calm, firm, voice ):

"No, Helliard. Look around you. The city—its people—if you release that flame, Alveunzla dies with the beast. You've forgotten what it means to protect."

Helliard's fist trembled. The sun-orb pulsed violently, threatening to explode. For a moment, he almost hurled it anyway—but Light moved.

---

The Tyranquisitor lunged. Light's body blurred. With a flash, he vanished and reappeared at its chest.

Eindhoven Burst.

A sonic crack split the air as afterimages of glowing silhouettes trailed behind him. The Maiju's head snapped back from the impact, disoriented by the blazing illusions.

Light didn't stop. His fist gathered blinding photons until it burned like a newborn star.

Light (roaring):

"Leiden Nova!"

He slammed his fist into the beast's chest. The explosion of light burst outward, a radiant nova engulfing the Maiju's obsidian flesh. Chunks of scale vaporized instantly. The monster howled, staggering back—but still it lived, wings beating with fury.

---

Helliard (growling, fire crackling at his throat):

"You can't handle it alone! That thing's hide is tougher than obsidian! It'll take a sun to burn it out!"

Light (glances back, voice unwavering):

"Not a sun… a star."

He rose into the air, golden armor blazing brighter with every heartbeat. The heavens themselves seemed to respond, clouds parting as photons gathered into his body. His fist became pure radiance, the air vibrating with impossible heat.

Light (voice echoing across the battlefield):

"Fear not! Where there is shadow—"

(He soared higher, then descended with a strike that split the sky itself.)

Light:

"—I am the LIGHT! FEAR NOT HAHAHAHAHA

Groningen Apex – Morning Star!

He crashed down, fist first. A colossal solar blast erupted, blinding the land as if a second sun had descended. The Tyranquisitor screamed once, its body vaporizing into ash and fragments of molten shadow. The ground split in a shining scar that stretched for miles.

When the radiance finally faded, silence ruled. The Maiju was gone. Only the Number One remained, standing tall amid the smoke, his aura still glowing like dawn itself.

---

Helliard (staring, fists clenched, voice bitter):

"Tch… Even my Infernaut wasn't enough… You took my kill."

Light (turns, calm but firm):

"Thats fine, Helliard. I saved your people."

(The Wizards around them slowly rose, some in awe, others weeping in relief. To them, there was no question who stood as the true protector of the kingdom.)
