After 5 years of the manifestation of their cores, Lexus and Oscar were ready to go to the magic university- Ashford. Laura insisted on sending them to the university as it was far from their home and she was scared about them as their powers are new. She thought they would face a lot of danger as their powers have never appeared before. And she was scared that if they could even reach the university. But Caleb somehow convinced her and the next day their luggage was packed and they said their goodbyes to their parents and started their journey towards the university.
There is a rule of the university that the students who wants to join the university should come to the university on their own. Parents should not help them and the route contains many life taking dangers. But Lexus and Oscar were prepared. After manifesting the cores they practiced everyday for 5 years and acquired a decent mastery over their weapons. That's why Caleb was confident enough to send them alone. They took a map to the Ashford and set out on their journey. The path was long. It would take 3 days of walking to reach there. They first had a clear path until 6kms and then a thick forest full of man eating direwolves named Fangs called Fangshadow Grove comes in their way. Fangshadows are man eating wolves whose fangs can tear through anything and they become violent at night giving them their name. They are white and have a gem on their head.
After crossing the forest, They have to cross a swamp named Ashenmarshwhich has dangerous swamp monsters called gloomcrawlers killing anything in their sight. And after crossing the deadly swamp they have to walk for a day in a straight path to reach Ashford.
Every year 200000 pupils sign up to get into it but only 200 of them are able to reach the Magical University. That's how hard it is to get into Ashford. Because if you even can't cross such little obstacles you are not even worthy of mastering your powers. Half of the students who sign up give up even before starting their journey.
Lexus and Oscar started their journey and by the first night, they reached the Fangshadow Grove. Oscar says " Hey brother I think we should take rest it's night time and I don't think it's safe to go in there at this time." Lexus replies " Oscar we don't have time our journey is long and let me ask you one thing. What is your dream?" Oscar said " you know it don't you? I wanna become a celestial leader." Lexus replied " then taking rest won't make you one so let's go" Oscar grunts and continues with his brother.
They walk for a short distance and everything felt quiet at first. As they were passing through, Oscar heard some sound he quickly said " hey did you hear that?" Lexus said " hear what?" They stop talking and listen carefully. There was a sound of low growls and suddenly a direwolf jumps out of the bushes and leaps onto Oscar. Lexus swiftly kicks it and takes out his kunai. It jumps onto them again and Oscar stops it with his spear. He struggles to hold and and Lexus jumps over it and kills it with his kunai. They feel relieved and Lexus says that "this is a Fang " then suddenly they hear more growls as they look into the forest they see hundreds of eyes staring at them slowly all of the eyes come out revealing themselves being more wolves. They were ferocious. Lexus and Oscar prepare for attack while suddenly all of the wolves come at them at once Oscar and Lexus fight hard and kill every single one of them after a hard fought battle of 5 hours. They feel exhausted. They move forward and as they reached the end of the forest they hear loud howl. They sese vibrations of footsteps as if something big is coming towards them. And suddenly a big wolf black in colour with a gem as big as their hand came out it was as big as 10 Fangs combined. Now they understood why the forest was called Fangshadowgrove. It howled and the howl was so loud that Lexus and Oscar had to close their ears. It runs towards them and Lexus tries to attack it with his swift move and it knocks Lexus back with a great force. Oscar throws his spear up into the sky and teleports to it and he attacks the fangshadow with his attack he learnt and slashes it on the back. But the attack did nothing but just giving a little wound to it. The fangshadow kicks Oscar and he hits a tree. Lexus becomes furious looking at his brother hurt.
Lexus yells at the wolf and quickly takes out his kunai and spins it with the chain handle. He swiftly jumps into the sky and pierced the kunai into its forehead the fangshadow growled with pain. Lexus goes to Oscar and asks him if he is fine and Oscar replies that he is fine Lexus tells Oscar to divert it Oscar yells at it saying " come at me you piece of shit." The fangshadow chases him. Lexus gathering all his strength jumps onto it's back then into the air and with all his power he kicks his kunai sending it deep inside its head with a great force he kicked it so hard that it came out from the other direction out of the wolf killing it.
Lexus gave a pat on Oscar's shoulder and said " good job buddy you fought well " Oscar said " so did you Lexus. That kick was amazing! How'd you do that" Lexus said "I don't know I just did it. Sometimes you do things without your knowing. So, let's get going it's dawn anyways" saying this they have a dap as the Sun comes up the horizon.
