Chapter 26 - CHAPTER 26

Jingyi Jōnin

After leaving the Hokage Building, Jingyi was just about to check his system panel he had heard a beep signaling a new notification during the meeting but hadn't had time to check.

Before he could look, he heard someone calling out to him from behind.

The voice sounded familiar

Minato Namikaze?

Turning around, Jingyi saw the blond figure of Namikaze Minato walking toward him.

"Senior Minato, do you need something?" Jingyi asked respectfully.

At this time, Minato wasn't yet the Fourth Hokage, but after the Battle of Kannabi Bridge, his reputation in Konoha was already rising rapidly. Compared to Jingyi, a newly promoted jōnin, Minato was already a well-known and highly trusted ninja.

"I wanted to ask you something," Minato said. "Why did you include basic medical training in your program? Medical ninjutsu is complex... and not something most jōnin specialize in."

He looked puzzled.

Konoha's medical system was the most advanced among the Great Nations. Yet even so, not every team had a medical ninja partly because training one took years and required extremely high chakra control and medical knowledge. Medical-nin were not only expected to heal but to survive battlefield attacks as well.

Thus, Minato couldn't understand the point of squeezing medical training into a short one-month crash course.

Still, he sensed Jingyi had thought this through.

Jingyi smiled. "Senior Minato, I'm not trying to make everyone a medic. I just want them to learn basic first aid: how to bandage wounds, stop bleeding, administer simple medicine."

He explained patiently.

He had noticed that, despite Konoha's outstanding medics, too many regular shinobi were helpless without them. A simple wound left untreated on the battlefield could easily become fatal.

Sometimes, basic first aid could mean the difference between life and death.

Minato thought about it carefully.

Indeed, except for a few experienced veterans, most shinobi weren't trained in even basic treatment techniques.

It was a major gap that few had tried to address until now.

"You have a point," Minato said thoughtfully. He looked at Jingyi with newfound admiration. "You really are a genius. I heard you're not only strong but also skilled at teaching... I didn't expect you to know about medical practice too."

"Just a little," Jingyi said modestly.

His knowledge mainly came from the system's bonuses basic first aid and minor medical ninjutsu principles, not anything too advanced like the Mystical Palm Technique.

Minato scratched the back of his head. "Actually, I have another question. Lord Hokage assigned me to lead a genin team, but honestly, I have no idea where to start. Do you have any advice?"

Jingyi smiled knowingly.

"I'm also new to leading a team. But from what I've seen, Konoha's system emphasizes balance. In a four-person squad, ideally, you want one front-line fighter to hold the enemy, one specialist to flank or assassinate, and one to provide support."

"Front, flank, and support..." Minato repeated, thinking it over.

It made sense.

Even the famed Ino–Shika–Chō trio fit this model in their own way, though their 'flanker' role was a bit unconventional.

Minato was impressed. Young as he was, Jingyi had clearly thought deeply about team composition.

It was reassuring to see such talent emerging in Konoha.

After their discussion, the two drifted into talking about ninjutsu specifically, the Body Flicker Technique.

Both of them were considered masters of the Shunshin no Jutsu.

However, their styles were different:

Minato's flicker emphasized overwhelming speed, reducing enemy reaction time to zero.

Jingyi's flicker incorporated deception and misdirection, somewhat like Shisui Uchiha's "Body Flicker Mirage" style swift, but unpredictable.

Their exchange was rewarding for both, though in the end, Minato felt like he had gained far more. He had come hoping to mentor Jingyi a little, but found that Jingyi's mastery of instant movement rivaled his own.

Jingyi wasn't concerned.

Helping Minato provided system rewards.

Sure enough, when Jingyi returned home and opened his system panel, he found a fresh batch of rewards waiting for him:

[Mission Complete: "Graduation Training" Lecture]

[Evaluation: Excellent!]

Rewards:

1. Wind Release: Rasenshuriken

2. Konoha-Style Sword Art: Willow

3. Four Symbols Seal Knowledge

Choose two out of three.

As always, he could only pick two.

Jingyi sighed, tempted to pick everything, but forced to make a decision.

He quickly ruled out the Rasenshuriken.

Without Sage Mode, using the Rasenshuriken recklessly could destroy his own arm. Besides, he already understood the Rasengan's principles. Once he learned Sage Mode someday, he could develop Rasenshuriken on his own.

That left the other two.

Konoha-Style Sword Art: Willow an extremely rare S-rank kenjutsu that combined illusion and swordsmanship.

Four Symbols Seal one of Konoha's most sophisticated sealing techniques, invaluable in controlling tailed beasts and suppressing powerful forces.

He chose both.

[Rewards Acquired!]

Swordsmanship and sealing techniques instantly integrated into his knowledge base. Thanks to the system, mastering them didn't take months or years of harsh training.

That said, the complexity of the Four Symbols Seal made his head spin. It was easy to understand how even geniuses like Minato needed years to master high-level fūinjutsu.

Still, the benefits were undeniable.

With this new knowledge, if he ever had to face a Jinchūriki, he would no longer be powerless.

As for the Konoha-Style Willow Sword Art ok

It emphasized sudden, unpredictable strikes perfect for group battles and assassinations. Even now, its practicality was high. But Jingyi knew that if he could adapt it further, combining it with techniques like Iaido (quick-draw slashes) and Genjutsu feints, its power would rise exponentially.

He would need to study genjutsu more deeply to fully realize this vision.

For now, though, the boost to his strength was massive.

Jingyi smiled.

With this, I won't have to worry about leading my own squad into battle
